Forest resources play a vital role in supporting the livelihoods of rural communities residing in forest-rich *** India,a forest-rich country,a significant proportion of non-timber forest products(NTFPs)is consumed locally,supporting numerous rural communities relying on forests for essential resources,such as firewood,timber,and *** study focuses on two forest-dominant districts in West Bengal of India,namely,Jhargram District and Paschim Medinipur ***,this study aims to enhance the understanding of forest-dependent communities by comparing the standard of living among different village ***,we categorized villages into three classes based on the distance from home to forests,including inner villages,fringe villages,and outer *** focus group discussions and household surveys,we explored the sources of local economy,income sources of household,and reasons for economic diversification in different village *** study findings confirm that substantial variations existed in the income sources and the standard of living in these *** income varied dramatically among the three village classes,with inner villages having greater forest income than fringe villages and outer ***,households in outer villages depended on forests and engaged in diverse economic activities for their *** with inner and fringe villages,households in outer villages derived a significant portion of their income from *** discrepancy can be attributed to challenges,such as inadequate transportation,communication,and underdeveloped market chains in inner ***,these findings emphasize the need to develop sustainable forest management practices,create alternative income-generation opportunities,and improve infrastructure and market access in inner villages,as well as promote economic diversification in outer *** targeted policy measures,these forest-rich regions can achi

Objective: Radix Bupleuri and Radix Paeoniae Alba are referred to as Chai-Hu and Bai-shao, respectively, in Chinese. We used molecular docking and network pharmacological approaches to explore the active components of this Chinese herb combination which is commonly used for treating Alzheimer's disease(AD), the Chai-Hu and Bai-shao pair(CBP). Materials and Methods: The active compounds and action targets of Chai-Hu and Bai-shao were identified in the Traditional Chinese Medicine systems Pharmacology database, and the Therapeutic Target Database, Drug Bank, Gen Cards, Dis Ge NET, and Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man databases were used to identify therapeutic targets in patients with AD. To identify a common target of CBP in the treatment of AD, we used the Metascape tool to perform Gene Ontology function enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analyses. In addition, CBP-AD protein–protein interaction(PPI) and herb-component-target networks were created using Cytoscape 3.8.2. Molecular docking was verified using Auto Dock tools. Results: We identified 20 active compounds of CBP, 202 active targets, 1,323 disease targets, and 117 active compound disease intersection targets;the PPI network showed that the top eight key targets were AKT1, interleukin(IL) 6, JUN, MAPK1, tumor necrosis factor, TP53, vascular endothelial growth factor, and epidermal growth factor. These act mainly on the fluid shear stress, atherosclerosis, IL-17, hypoxia-inducible factor-1, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease pathways, among others, which control immune inflammation, cell proliferation, and apoptosis. Based on molecular docking results, the active components of CBP bind well to its key targets. Conclusion: Our results indicated that CBP was effective for treating AD by reducing the expression of inflammatory factors, promoting cell proliferation and differentiation, and preventing nerve cell death and anti-neuronal cell apoptosis.

Objective To observe the cervical elasticity of healthy adult nulliparous women at different age groups and different stages of menstrual cycle with E-Cervix imaging *** A total of 218 healthy adult nulliparous women who underwent transvaginal ultrasound examination for routine physical examination were retrospectively enrolled,including 103 in follicular phase,78 in ovulation phase and 37 in luteal *** canal length(CL)and E-Cervix elasticity parameters were compared among different age groups and different stages of menstrual cycle,including elasticity contrast index(ECI),hardness ratio(HR),cervical internal and external orifice strain values(IOs and EOs)and IOs/EOs *** No significant difference of CL nor cervical elasticity parameters was detected among healthy adult nulliparous women at different age groups(all P>0.05).There were significant differences of ECI,HR and IOs among different menstrual cycle stages(all Pwomen in follicular phase had higher ECI and IOs but lower HR than those in luteal phase(all Psion No significant difference of cervical elasticity existed among healthy adult nulliparous women at different age ***,cervical elasticity of healthy adult nulliparous women changed during menstrual cycle,in follicular phase had higher ECI and IOs but lower HR than in luteal phase.
