BACKGROUND： Yishendaluo decoction reduces production of inflammatory mediators, relieves damage due to inflammatory reactions, and improves neural functions during experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. OBJECTIVE： To investigate the effects of Yishendaluo decoction on a mouse model of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： The randomized, controlled, neuropathological, and molecular biological animal study was performed at the Key Laboratory of chinese Internal Medicine, Ministry of Education, Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of chinese Medicine and center for Neuroinformatics, General Hospital of chinese pla from 2005 to 2006. MATERIALS： Yishendaluo decoction pieces consisting of prepared rehmannia root, colla comus cervi, cape jasmine fruit, and grassleaf sweetflag rhizome were purchased from the Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of chinese Medicine. Rabbit anti-mouse β-amyloid precursor protein and p38 polyclonal antibody （Zhongshan Goldenbridge Biotechnology, China）, as well interferon-y and interleukin-4 ELISA kit （Boster, China）, were used in this study. METHODS： A total of 96 healthy, female, SJL/J mice, aged 8 12 weeks, were equally and randomly assigned to normal, model, hormone, and chinese medicine groups. A total of 0.2 mL antigen preparation, supplemented with 150 μg PLP 139-151 and 400 μg H37RA, was subcutaneously injected into the upper abdomen of mice from the model, hormone, and chinese medicine groups. Mouse models of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis were established by intravenous injection of 0.1 mL Bordetella pertussis solution containing 0.6 × 10^6 Bordetella pertussis at days 1 and 3. Mice from the model, chinese medicine, and hormone groups were respectively subjected to 0.2 mL saline, 2 g/kg Yishendaluo decoction, and 0.078 mg/kg prednisone acetate, once daily for 14 consecutive days. This article explores the mechanisms of acupuncture meridians by determining characteristics of the tissue fluid flow in the connective tissue along meridians. Based on deep dissection of acupoints on the upper and lower limbs of the human body and micro and macro observation and measurement, a mathematical model of the flow of tissue fluid in interosseous membranes is constructed. It is shown that the signal transmission along acupuncture meridians may be determined by unique anatomical and physiological factors that govern the flow of tissue fluid in the connective tissue and involve mast cell degranulation. Our results provide a preliminary explanation of the phenomenon of the ＂de qi＂ sensation and the mechanism of acupuncture signal transmission along acupuncture meridians.

Pancreatic head carcinoma(PHC)is one of the common gastrointestinal malignancies with a high morbidity and poor *** present,radical surgery is still the curative treatment for ***,in clinical practice,the actual R0 resection rate,the local recurrence rate,and the prognosis of PHC are ***,the concept of total mesopancreas excision(TMpE)is proposed to achieve R0 *** there have various controversies and discussions on the definition,the range of excision,and clinical prognosis of TMpE,the concept of TMpE can effectively increase the R0 resection rate,reduce the local recurrence rate,and improve the prognosis of *** is of importance in preoperative examination for PHC;however,traditional imaging assessment of PHC does not focus on *** review discusses the application of medical imaging in TMpE for PHC,to provide more accurate preoperative evaluation,range of excision,and more valuable postoperative follow-up evaluation for TMpE through *** is believed that with further extensive research and exploratory application of TMpE for PHC,large-sample and multicenter studies will be realized,thus providing reliable evidence for imaging evaluation.

Antibiotic Metabolites from the Coral-Associated Actinomycete Streptomyces sp. OUCMDZ-1703

From the oligotrophic culture of a soft coral-associated actinomycetes strain, Streptomyces sp. OUCMDZ-1703, we isolated and identified two new chlorinated polyketides that we named strepchloritides A and B （1 and 2）, three thiazole derivatives known as watasemycin A （3）, pulicatin G （4） and aerugine （5）, along with pyrrole- 2-carboxamide, furan-2-carboxamide and 1-（3,5-dihydroxyphenyl）ethanone. The new structures of 1 and 2 were determined by spectroscopic studies such as 1D- and 2D-NMR and MS analyses, while the known compounds were identified by comparison of the NMR data with those in literatures. The results showed that actinomycete strain OUCMDZ-1703 could use the relative high ratio of chlorine in the oligotrophic medium to synthesize chlorinated natural products. New compounds 1 and 2 displayed cytotoxicity against the MCF-7 ceils with ICs0 values of 9.9 and 20.2 ~tmoloL-1, respectively. Thiazole derivatives 3 and 5 were first found to be active against three clinical strains of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus （MRSA082, MRSA111 and MRSA234） with the same MIC/MBC values of 7.81/7.81 μg·mL-1.
