Efficiency-based pareto optimization of Building Energy Consumption and Thermal Comfort:A Case Study of a Residential Building in Bushehr,Iran

In Iran,the intensity of energy consumption in the building sector is almost 3 times the world average,and due to the consumption of fossil fuels as the main source of energy in this sector,as well as the lack of optimal design of buildings,it has led to excessive release of toxic gases into the *** research develops an efficient app.o.ch for the simulation-oriented pareto optimization(Sopo)of building energy efficiency to assist engineers in optimal building design in early design *** this end,Energyplus,as one of the most powerful and well-known whole-building simulation p.o.rams,is combined with the Multi-objective Ant Colony optimization(MoACo)algorithm through the JAVA p.o.ramming *** a result,the capabilities of JAVA p.o.ramming are added to Energyplus without the use of other plugins and third *** evaluate the effectiveness of the developed method,it was performed on a residential building located in the hot and semi-arid region of *** obtain the optimum configuration of the building under investigation,the building rotation,window-to-wall ratio,tilt angle of shading device,depth of shading device,color of the external walls,area of solar collector,tilt angle of solar collector,rotation of solar collector,cooling and heating setpoints of heating,ventilation,and air conditioning(HVAC)system are chosen as decision ***,the building energy consumption(BEC),solar collector efficiency(SCE),and predicted percentage of dissatisfied(ppD)index as a measure of the occupants'thermal comfort level are chosen as the objective *** single-objective optimization(So)and pareto optimization(po)are *** obtained results are compared to the initial values of the basic *** optimization results depict that the po p.o.ides optimal solutions more reliable than those obtained by the Sos,owing to the lower value of the deviation ***,the optimal solutions extracted through the po are depicted in the

Bulk-boundary and RpS thermodynamics from topology perspective

In this study,we investigate the bulk-boundary and restricted phase space(RpS)thermodynamics of Rissner-Nordstrom(R-N)AdS and 6-dimensional charged Gauss-Bonnet AdS black ***,we examine the topological characteristics of the considered black holes and compare them with the results of extended *** determine that the topological behavior of the bulk-boundary thermodynamics is the same as that of the extended thermodynamics,whereas the RpS thermodynamics exhibits a distinct ***,we demonstrate that within the RpS formalism,there is only one critical point with a topological charge of+1(Q_(t)=+1).Moreover,in the RpS formalism,the inclusion of higher-derivative curvature terms in the form of GaussBonnet gravity does not alter the topological classification of critical points in charged AdS black holes.

Assessment of Seasonal Rainfall prediction in Ethiopia: Evaluating a Dynamic Recurrent Neural Network to Downscale ECMWF-SEAS5 Rainfall

Seasonal rainfall plays a vital role in both environmental dynamics and decision-making for rainfed agriculture in Ethiopia, a country often impacted by extreme climate events such as drought and flooding. predicting the onset of the rainy season and p.o.iding localized rainfall forecasts for Ethiopia is challenging due to the changing spatiotemporal patterns and the country's rugged topography. The Climate Hazards Group Infra Red precipitation with Station Data(CHIRpS), ERA5-Land total precipitation and temperature data are used from 1981–2022 to predict spatial rainfall by applying an artificial neural network(ANN). The recurrent neural network(RNN) is a nonlinear autoregressive network with exogenous input(NARX), which includes feed-forward connections and multiple network layers, emp.o.ing the Levenberg Marquart algorithm. This method is applied to downscale data from the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts fifth-generation seasonal forecast system(ECMWF-SEAS5) and the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change(CMCC) to the specific locations of rainfall stations in Ethiopia for the period 1980–2020. Across the stations, the results of NARX exhibit strong associations and reduced errors. The statistical results indicate that, except for the southwestern Ethiopian highlands, the downscaled monthly precipitation data exhibits high skill scores compared to the station records, demonstrating the effectiveness of the NARX app.o.ch for predicting local seasonal rainfall in Ethiopia's complex terrain. In addition to this spatial ANN of the summer season precipitation, temperature, as well as the combination of these two variables, show p.o.ising results.

App.o.imate solution of Volterra-Fredholm integral equations using generalized barycentric rational interpolant

It is well-known that interpolation by rational functions results in a more accurate app.o.imation than the polynomials ***,classical rational interpolation has some deficiencies such as uncontrollable poles and low convergence *** contrast with the classical rational interpolants,the generalized barycentric rational interpolants which depend linearly on the interpolated values,yield infinite smooth app.o.imation with no poles in real *** this paper,a numerical collocation app.o.ch,based on the generalized barycentric rational interpolation and Gaussian quadrature formula,was introduced to app.o.imate the solution of Volterra-Fredholm integral *** types of points in the solution domain are used as interpolation *** obtained numerical results confirm that the barycentric rational interpolants are efficient tools for solving Volterra-Fredholm integral ***,integral equations with Runge’s function as an exact solution,no oscillation occurrs in the obtained app.o.imate solutions so that the Runge’s phenomenon is avoided.

Enhancing pDF Malware Detection through Logistic Model Trees

Malware is an ever-present and dynamic threat to networks and computer systems in cybersecurity,and because of its complexity and evasiveness,it is challenging to identify using traditional signature-based detection *** study article discusses the growing danger to cybersecurity that malware hidden in pDF files poses,highlighting the shortcomings of conventional detection techniques and the difficulties presented by adversarial *** article presents a new method that imp.o.es pDF virus detection by using document analysis and a Logistic Model *** a dataset from the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity,a comparative analysis is carried out with well-known machine learning models,such as Credal Decision Tree,Naïve Bayes,Average one Dependency Estimator,Locally Weighted Learning,and Stochastic Gradient *** traditional structural and JavaScript-centric pDF analysis,the research makes a substantial contribution to the area by boosting precision and resilience in malware *** use of Logistic Model Tree,a thorough feature selection app.o.ch,and increased focus on pDF file attributes all contribute to the efficiency of pDF virus *** paper emphasizes Logistic Model Tree’s critical role in tackling increasing cybersecurity threats and p.o.oses a viable answer to practical issues in the *** results reveal that the Logistic Model Tree is superior,with imp.o.ed accuracy of 97.46%when compared to benchmark models,demonstrating its usefulness in addressing the ever-changing threat landscape.

Numerical calculation of Z-scan measurements for nonlinear media with large phase shift

We have reported the characteristics of a Z-scan for the poly(azaneylylidene-acylene)(DAZA) polymer, as nonlinear medium with a large nonlinear phase shift using continuous-wave(CW) laser beam. It has been verified that the Fresnel diffraction model is applicable for analyses of Z-scan measurements with DAZA polymer at high laser power. It was found that Z-scan curves with peak-to-valley features appear as the applied light intensity increases in the case of a large nonlinear phase shift. The Z-scan experiments were carried out using a CW laser to verify the theoretical calculations in the case of a large nonlinear phase shift model. our results show good agreements between the experimental data and the p.o.osed theoretical models.

Revealing Al-o/Al-F reaction dynamic effects on the combustion of aluminum nanoparticles in oxygen/fluorine containing environments:A reactive molecular dynamics study meshing together experimental validation

Imp.o.ing the energy conversion efficiency in metallic fuel(e.g.,Al)combustion is always desirable but challenging,which often involves redox reactions of aluminum(Al)with various mixed oxidizing *** instance,Al-o reaction is the most common pathway to release limited energy while Al-F reaction has received much attentions to enhance Al combustion ***,microscopic understanding of the Al-o/Al-F reaction dynamics remains unsolved,which is fundamentally necessary to further imp.o.e Al combustion *** this work,for the first time,Al-o/Al-F reaction dynamic effects on the combustion of aluminum nanoparticles(n-Al)in oxygen/fluorine containing environments have been revealed via reactive molecular dynamics(RMD)simulations meshing together combustion *** RMD simulation systems of Al core/o_(2)/HF,n-Al/o_(2)/HF,and n-Al/o_(2)/CF4 with oxygen percentage ranging from 0%to 100%have been *** n-Al combustion in mixed o_(2)/CF_4 environments have been conducted by constant volume combustion *** results show that Al-o reaction exhibits kinetic benefits while Al-F reaction owns thermodynamic benefits for n-Al *** n-Al/o_(2)/HF,Al-o reaction gives faster energy release rate than Al-F reaction(1.1 times).The optimal energy release efficiency can be achieved with suitable oxygen percentage of 10%and 50%for n-Al/o_(2)/HF and n-Al/o_(2)/CF_4,*** combustion experiments,90%of oxygen percentage can optimally enhance the peak pressure,pressurization rate and combustion ***,Al-o reaction prefers to occur on the surface regions while Al-F reaction prefers to p.o.eed in the interior regions of n-Al,confirming the kinetic/thermodynamic benefits of Al-o/Al-F *** synergistic effect of Al-o/Al-F reaction for greatly enhancing n-Al combustion efficiency is demonstrated at atomicscale,which is beneficial for optimizing the combustion performance of metallic fuel.

The effects of data aggregation on long-term p.o.ections of forest stands development

Forest management planning often relies on Airborne Laser Scanning(ALS)-based Forest Management Inventories(FMIs)for sustainable and efficient *** the area-based(ABA)app.o.ch,these inventories estimate forest characteristics for grid cell areas(pixels),which are then usually summarized at the stand *** the ALS-based high-resolution Norwegian Forest Resource Maps(16 m×16 m pixel resolution)alongside with stand-level growth and yield models,this study exp.o.es the impact of three levels of pixel aggregation(standlevel,stand-level with species strata,and pixel-level)on p.o.ected stand *** results indicate significant differences in the p.o.ected outputs based on the aggregation ***,the most substantial difference in estimated volume occurred between stand-level and pixel-level aggregation,ranging from-301 to+253 m^(3)·ha^(-1)for single *** differences were,on average,higher for broadleaves than for spruce and pine dominated stands,and for mixed stands and stands with higher variability than for pure and homogenous *** conclusion,this research underscores the critical role of input data resolution in forest planning and management,emphasizing the need for imp.o.ed data collection practices to ensure sustainable forest management.
