The present study reports a successful attempt to produce single cell oil(SCO),heterogeneous base catalyst and yeast-based biodiesel from durian peel as a promising carbon feedstock by means of the waste-to-energy *** this purpose,first,durian peel(Dp)was hydrolyzed by dilute sulfuric acid to obtain xylose-rich Dp hydrolysate(XDpH)and post-hydrolysis Dp solid residue(DpS).Candida viswanathii pSY8,a newly isolated oleaginous yeast,showed high SCO accumulation(5.1±0.1 g/L)and SCO content(35.3±0.13%)on undetoxified XDpH medium.A novel heterogeneous base catalyst(DpS-K)prepared from DpS by wet impregnation technique with KOH,exhibited considerable catalytic activity to convert SCO-rich wet yeast of *** pSY8 into yeast-based biodiesel(FAME)via direct transesterification with a maximum FAME yield of 94.3%under optimal conditions(6 wt%catalyst,10:1 methanol to wet yeast ratio,75℃,and 2 h).Moreover,most of the yeast-based biodiesel properties obtained from the FAME profiles were correlated well with the biodiesel standards limit of Thai,ASTM D6751 and EN ***,the energy output of FAME produced about 37.5 MJ/kg was ***,this present finding demonstrated the favorable strategy for sustainable and eco-friendly production of new generation biodiesel.

Bio-jarosite,an iron mineral synthesized biologically using bacteria,is a substitute for iron catalysts in the Fenton oxidation of organic *** nanocatalysts have been widely used as Fenton catalysts because they have a larger surface area than ordinary catalysts,are highly recyclable,and can be treated *** study aimed to explore the catalytic properties of bio-jarosite iron nanoparticles syn-thesized with green methods using two distinct plant species:Azadirachta indica and Eucalyptus *** focus was on the degradation of dicamba via Fenton *** synthesized nanoparticles exhibited different particle size,shape,surface area,and chemical composition *** particles were effective in removing dicamba,with removal efficiencies of 96.8%for *** bio-jarosite iron nano-particles(ABFeNps)and 93.0%for *** bio-jarosite iron nanoparticles(EBFeNps)within 120 min of *** the catalyst dosage by 0.1 g/L resulted in 7.6%and 43.0%increases in the dicamba removal efficiency for EBFeNps and ABFeNps with rate constants of 0.025 min^(-1) and 0.023 min^(-1),respectively,confrming their catalytic ***,the high efficiency of both catalysts was demonstrated through five consecutive cycles of linear pseudo-first-order Fenton oxidation reactions.

The goal of this study was to use statistical optimization to change the nutritional and environmental conditions so that Streptomyces baarensis MH-133 could make more active *** trials were used to screen for critical variables influencing productivity using the placket-Burman Design *** MH-133 is significantly influenced by elicitation,yeast extract,inoculum size,and incubation period in terms of antibacterial activity.A total of 27 experimental trials with various combinations of these factors were used to carry out the response surface technique using the Box-Behnken *** analyses revealed that the model was highly significant(ppredicted that the response as inhibition zone diameter would reach a value of 27 *** optimal conditions,*** MH-133 produced 18.0 g of crude extract to each 35L and was purified with column *** active fraction exhibiting antibacterial activity was characterized using spectroscopic *** MIC and MBC values varied between 37.5 and 300μg/ml and 75 and 300μg/ml,*** conclusion,the biostatistical optimization of the active fraction critical variables,including environmental and nutritional conditions,enhances the production of bioactive molecules by Streptomyces species.

Transmissible spongiform encephalopathies(TSEs)are a group of progressive and ultimately fatal neurologic diseases of man and animals,all resulting from the propagated misfolding of the host's normal cellular prion *** diseases can be spontaneous,heritable,anthropogenic/iatrogenic,or in some cases horizontally transmissible,and include such notable TSEs as bovine spongiform encephalopathy(BSE)of cattle and chronic wasting disease(CWD)of *** they are both unequivocally protein misfolding disorders,they differ markedly in their pathogenesis,transmissibility,and zoonotic *** the BSE epidemic has largely abated over the past three decades following global feed bans on ruminant meat and bone meal,CWD,which is readily transmitted through various forms of excreta,has rapidly expanded from its original endemic zone to encompass much of North America,along with recently identified foci in *** importantly,although the classical form of BSE has proven transmissible to humans consuming contaminated beef or beef products,so far there have been no conclusive reports on the zoonotic transmission of cWD to *** underlying basis for these differences-whether host or agent directed-are not well understood,though may be due to inherent differences in the three-dimensional structure of the misfolded BSE or CWD prion proteins or the expression levels and tissue distribution of respective cellular prion *** the uncontrolled geographic spread of CWD,it is imperative that we improve our understanding of the factors governing prion disease pathogenesis,transmission,and zoonotic potential.

Background protamination and condensation of sperm chromatin as well as DNA integrity play an essential role during fertilization and embryo *** some mammals,like pigs,ejaculates are emitted in three separate fractions:pre-sperm,sperm-rich(SRF)and post sperm-rich(pSRF).These fractions are known to vary in volume,sperm concentration and quality,as well as in the origin and composition of seminal plasma(Sp),with differences being also observed within the SRF ***,whether disparities in the DNA integrity and chromatin condensation and pro-tamination of their sperm exist has not been *** This study determined chromatin protamination(Chromomycin A3 test,CMA_(3)),condensation(Dibromobi-mane test,DBB),and DNA integrity(Comet assay)in the pig sperm contained in the first 10 m L of the SRF(SRF-p1),the remaining portion of the sperm-rich fraction(SRF-p2),and the post sperm-rich fraction(pSRF).While chromatin protamination was found to be similar between the different ejaculate fractions(p>0.05),chromatin condensation was seen to be greater in SRF-p1 and SRF-p2 than in the pSRF(p=0.018 and p=0.004,respectively).Regarding DNA integrity,no differences between fractions were observed(p>0.05).As the SRF-p1 has the highest sperm concentra-tion and ejaculate fractions are known to differ in antioxidant composition,the oxidative stress index(OSi)in Sp,calcu-lated as total oxidant activity divided by total antioxidant capacity,was tested and confirmed to be higher in the SRF-p1 than in SRF-p2 and pSRF(0.42±0.06 vs.0.23±0.09 and 0.08±0.00,respectively;pperm concentration of each fraction(Rs=0.973;pperm DNA integrity was not found to differ between ejaculate fractions,SRF-p1 and SRF-p2 were observed to exhibit greater chromatin condensation than the *** could be related to the OSi of each fraction.
