Cytokinin signaling promotes salt tolerance by modulating shoot chloride exclusion in maize

Excessive accumulation of chloride(Cl^(-))in the aboveground tissues under saline conditions is harmful to *** the exclusion of Cl^(-) from shoots promotes salt tolerance in various ***,the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely *** this study,we demonstrated that a type A response regulator(ZmRR1)modulates Cl^(-) exclusion from shoots and underlies natural variation of salt tolerance in ***1 negatively regulates cytokinin signaling and salt tolerance,likely by interacting with and inhibiting His phosphotransfer(HP)proteins that are key mediators of cytokinin signaling.A naturally occurring non-synonymous SNP variant enhances the interaction between ZmRR1 and ZmHP2,conferring maize plants with a salt-hypersensitive *** found that ZmRR1 undergoes degradation under saline conditions,leading to the release of ZmHP2 from ZmRR1 inhibition,and subsequently ZmHP2-mediated signaling improves salt tolerance primarily by promoting Cl^(-) exclusion from ***,we showed that ZmMATE29 is transcriptionally upregulated by ZmHP2-mediated signaling under highly saline conditions and encodes a tonoplast-located Cl^(-) transporter that promotes Cl^(-) exclusion from shoots by compartmentalizing Cl^(-) into the vacuoles of root cortex ***,our study provides an important mechanistic understanding of the cytokinin signaling-mediated promotion of Cl^(-) exclusion from shoots and salt tolerance and suggests that genetic modification to promote Cl^(-) exclusion from shoots is a promising route for developing salt-tolerant maize.

A developed transient gas-liquid-solid flow model with hydrate phase transition for solid fluidization exploitation of marine natural gas hydrate reservoirs

The multiphase flow characteristic is one of the most concerning problems during solid fluidization exploitation of marine natural gas hydrate *** this research,a new transient gas-liquid-solid multiphase flow model with hydrate phase transition was ***,this model considered the coupling relationship among convective heat transfer,hydrate dynamic decomposition,and multi-phase *** model can simulate the change of flow pattern from solid-liquid to gas-liquid-solid flow,and describe the distribution character of volume fraction of phase,wellbore temperature and pressure,and hydrate decomposition rate during *** simulation results indicate that the hydrate decomposition region in the wellbore gradually expands,but the hydrate decomposition rate gradually decreases during the solid fluidization exploitation of *** mining time lasts for 4 h,and the bottom hole pressure decreases by about 0.4 *** NaCl concentration in seawater helps expand hydrate decomposition regions and improves the wellbore hydrate decomposition *** the Nacl mass fraction in seawater reaches 15%,it will raise the hydrate decomposition regions to the whole *** addition,the higher the wellhead backpressure,the lower the decomposition area and decomposition rate of hydrate in the *** wellhead backpressure reaches 2 MPa,the volume fraction of gas near the wellhead will reduce to about 12%.This work is expected to provide a theoretical basis for the development of marine hydrate reservoirs.

Silicon photonics has provided a platform for the convergency of photonic devices and electronic circuits, facilitating the development of optical telecommunications and optical interconnects on chip [1]. As the basic building block of optical communication systems, electro-optic tuning is expected to be more compact, high bandwidth, energy efficient, and allow for CMOS-compatible fabrication in the future [2]. Resonator-based electro-optic tuning has attracted more and more interest due to the small footprint, enhanced light-matter interactions and high energy efficiency. Compared with microring and microdisk resonators, photonic crystal nanobeam cavities(PCNBCs) realize higher quality factors, stronger light-matter interactions, ultrasmall mode volume and a much larger free spectral range(FSR) [3].

This paper proposes an improved You Only Look Once(YOLOv3)algorithm for automatically detecting damaged apples to promote the automation of the fruit processing *** the proposed method,a clustering method based on Rao-1 algorithm is introduced to optimize anchor box *** clustering method uses the intersection over the union to form the objective function and the most representative anchor boxes are generated for normal and damaged apple *** verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method,real apple images collected from the Internet are *** with the generic YOLOv3 and Fast Region-based Convolutional Neural Network(Fast R-CNN)algorithms,the proposed method yields the highest mean average precision value for the test ***,it is practical to apply the proposed method for intelligent apple detection and classification tasks.

Multiple chemical warfare agent simulant decontamination by self-driven microplasma

Low-temperature plasma is a green and high-efficiency technology for chemical warfare agent(CWA)***,traditional plasma devices suffer from the problems of highpower composition and large power-supply size,which limit their practical *** this paper,a self-driven microplasma decontamination system,induced by a dielectric-dielectric rotary triboelectric nanogenerator(dd-r TENG),was innovatively proposed for the decontamination of CWA *** microplasma was characterized via electrical measurements,optical emission spectra and ozone concentration *** an output voltage of-3460 V,the dd-r TENG can successfully excite microplasma in *** species,such as OH,O(1D),Hαand O3were *** input average power of 0.116 W,the decontamination rate of 2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfide reached 100%within 3 min of plasma treatment,while the decontamination rates of malathion and dimethyl methylphosphonate reached(65.92±1.65)%and(60.88±1.92)%after 7 min of plasma treatment,*** addition,the decontamination rates gradually decreased with the increase in the simulant *** products were identified and *** study demonstrates the broad spectrum and feasibility of the dd-r TENG-microplasma for CWA elimination,which provides significant guidance for their practical applications in the future.

Regulation of cytoskeleton-associated protein activities: Linking cellular signals to plant cytoskeletal function

The plant cytoskeleton undergoes dynamic remodeling in response to diverse developmental and environmental cues. Remodeling of the cytoskeleton coordinates growth in plant cells, including trafficking and exocytosis of membrane and wall components during cell expansion, and regulation of hypocotyl elongation in response to light. Cytoskeletal remodeling also has key functions in disease resistance and abiotic stress responses. Many stimuli result in altered activity of cytoskeleton-associatedproteins,microtubuleassociated proteins(MAPs) and actin-binding proteins(ABPs). MAPs and ABPs are the main players determining the spatiotemporally dynamic nature of the cytoskeleton, functioning in a sensory hub that decodes signals to modulate plant cytoskeletal behavior. Moreover, MAP and ABP activities and levels are precisely regulated during development and environmental responses, but our understanding of this process remains limited. In this review, we summarize the evidence linking multiple signaling pathways, MAP and ABP activities and levels, and cytoskeletal rearrangements in plant cells. We highlight advances in elucidating the multiple mechanisms that regulate MAP and ABP activities and levels, including calcium and calmodulin signaling, ROP GTPase activity, phospholipid signaling, and post-translational modifications.

A time delay equation for sea-air oscillator model is studied. The aim is to create an asymtotic solving method of nonlinear equation for the ENSO model. And based on a class of oscillators of ENSO model, employing the variational iteration method, the approximate solution of corresponding problem is obtained. It is proven from the results that the method of variational iteration method can be used for analyzing the sea surface temperature anomaly in the equatorial eastern Pacific of the atmosphere-ocean oscillation for ENSO model.

Enhancing the photo-luminescence stability of CH_(3)NH_(3)PbI_(3) film with ionic liquids

The methylammonium lead triiodide(CH_(3)NH_(3)PbI_(3))-based perovskite shows a great alluring prospect in areas of solar cells, lasers, photodetectors, and light emitting diodes owing to their excellent optical and electrical advantages. However,it is very sensitive to the surrounding oxygen and moisture, which limits its development seriously. It is urgent to spare no effort to enhance its optical and electrical stability for further application. In this paper, we synthesize the MAPbI_(3) perovskite film on the glass substrate with/without the ionic liquid(IL) of 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate(BMIMBF_(4)) by a simple two-step sequential solution method. The additive of BMIMBF_(4)can improve the quality of crystal structure. Moreover, the photo-luminescence(PL) intensity of MAPbI_(3) film with BMIMBF_(4) is much stronger than the pure MAPbI_(3) film after a week in the air, which is almost ten-fold of the pure one. Meanwhile, under the illumination of 405-nm continuous wave(CW) laser, the fluorescent duration of the MAPbI_(3) film with BMIMBF_(4) is approximately 2.75 min, while the pure MAPbI;film is only about 6 s. In fact, ionic liquid of BMIMBF_(4) in the perovskite film plays a role of passivation, which prevents the dissolution of MAPbI_(3) into CH_(3)NH_(3)and PbI_(2) and thus enhances the stability of environment. In addition, the ionic liquid of BMIMBF;possesses high ionic conductivity, which accelerates the electron transport, so it is beneficial for the perovskite film in the areas of solar cells, photodetectors, and lasers. This interesting experiment provides a promising way to develop the perovskite’s further application.
