Analysis of the Clinical Efficacy of Glimepiride Combined with Insulin in the Treatment of Elderly Diabetes

Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy and incidence of hypoglycemia in the treatment of elderly diabetes with glimepiride combined with ***:A total of 100 patients diagnosed with diabetes in Qinghai red cross hospital from January 2018 to January 2019 were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group according to the order of their visits,with 50 patients in each *** observation group was treated with glimepiride combined with insulin,while the control group was treated with insulin *** blood sugar indicators,including glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting blood glucose(FBG),and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose(2h PBG),were compared between the two ***,the incidence of hypoglycemia was compared,and the causes of hypoglycemia were analyzed and summarized,proposing corresponding ***:The glycated hemoglobin value of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and the statistical analysis showed a significant difference(t=3.54,P<0.05).The fasting blood glucose value in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,with statistically significant differences(t=4.08,P<0.05).The 2-hour postprandial blood glucose value in the observation group was also lower than that in the control group,with a significant difference(t=3.82,P<0.05).The incidence of hypoglycemia in the observation group was 10%,while it was 56%in the control group,with a statistically significant difference between the two groups(χ^(2)=5.813,P<0.05).Conclusion:The efficacy of glimepiride combined with insulin in the treatment of elderly diabetes is significantly higher than that of insulin alone,with a lower incidence of hypoglycemia.

Pig models are widely used in otological research. The establishment of common pig and miniature pig animal models has opened up new fields in otological research and is also an ideal large otological animal model. This article introduces the applications, current status, progress, advantages, and issues of using pigs as otologic animal models. It summarizes current research on pigs in the fields of hearing disorders, otitis, vertigo, cochlea, gene editing, and tissue engineering, among other otologic and audiological areas. These models are valuable for translating basic medical science into clinical applications. Based on this, platforms have been established for studying deafness and vertigo, cochlear implantation experiments, stem cell and gene therapy, and tissue engineering. These serve as ideal experimental models for the prevention and treatment of ear diseases, pointing toward new directions. This will bolster the promotion and application of pig models in the fields of tissue engineering and gene editing in the future.

Porta hepatis tuberculous lymphadenopathy(TL)is rare,and the clinical and imaging manifestations often mimic *** offer a bet-ter understanding of porta hepatis TL and thus improve its diagnosis and treatment,here,we retrospectively reviewed and analyzed 10 porta hepatis TL cases between May 2017 and November *** this study,porta hepatis TL occurred predominantly in women(70%),with a mean age of 43.1 years(range,16-70 years).Among the patients,60%were initially suspected of malignancy(metastatic lymphadenopathy and lymphoma).The clinical manifestations were nonspecific,such as fever and weight loss,without overt abdominal *** patients showed high concentrations of serum C-reactive protein,erythrocyte sedimentation rate,alkaline phosphatase,γ-glutamyl transpeptidase and carbohydrate antigen *** rim-like enhancement was a characteristic finding on contrast-enhanced CT for all the *** examination confirmed the diagnosis in 90%of patients with caseous granulo-matous inflammation and positive results of Xpert MTB/RIF,quantitative real-time PCR and/or metagenomic next-generation sequenc-ing *** patients underwent antituberculosis therapy with a median treatment duration of 13.5 months(range,1-43 months).They all showed satisfactory therapeutic responses with improved symptoms and resolution on imaging after *** examination by biopsy remains the primary diagnostic method.A combination of the characteristic epidemiologic,clinical,imaging fea-tures and lesion biopsy for histopathology are essential for the diagnosis and treatment of TL.

Objective: To explore the comparative study of myocardial damage in children infected with COVID-19 and influenza A virus during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: Retrospective analysis of myocardial injury caused by COVID-19 infection and influenza A virus infection in children during the COVID-19 from October 2022 to May 2023, including 106 cases of COVID-19 infection, that is, the COVID-19 group;And 164 cases of influenza A virus infection, namely, H1N1 group;Two groups were tested for various indicators of myocardial enzyme spectrum, and the situation of myocardial injury was compared between the two groups. Result: In the enrolled cases, there was no statistically significant difference in the prevalence rate of men and women in the COVID-19 group (P > 0.05);There was no statistically significant difference in the average age between men and women (P > 0.05);The comparison of the incidence rates between males and females in the H1N1 group showed a statistically significant difference (P 0.05);There was no statistically significant difference in the average age between the two groups of girls (P > 0.05). A comparison between two groups of various indicators of myocardial enzyme spectra showed that the results of AST, -HBDH and LDH were statistically significant (P 0.05). Conclusion: Both COVID-19 infection and influenza A virus infection in children have different degrees of myocardial damage, but COVID-19 infection causes more myocardial damage than influenza A virus infection, and influenza A virus is more prone to myocardial infarction, which deserves our attention.
