Objective This study was designed to conduct a retrospective and systematic occupational health risk assessment(OHRA)of enterprises that used benzene,toluene,and xylene(BTX)in Shanghai,*** All data for the study were obtained from 1,705 occupational health examination and evaluation reports from 2013 to 2017,and a semiquantitative model following Chinese OHRA guidelines(GBZ/T 298-2017)was applied for the *** The selected enterprises using BTX were mainly involved in manufacturing of *** the exposure level method,health risk levels associated with exposure to BTX were classified as medium,negligible,or ***,the risk levels associated with benzene and toluene were significantly different according to job types,with gluers and inkers exhibiting greater health *** the same job type,the health risk levels assessed using the comprehensive index method were higher than those using the exposure level *** Our OHRA reveals that workers who are exposed to BTX still face excessive health ***,the risk level varied depending on job categories and exposure to specific ***,additional control measures recommended by OHRA guidelines are essential to reduce worker exposure levels.

Workers involved in hydraulic fracking processes are exposed to various types of chemicals and dusts in their workplaces, such as proppants, which hold open the fissures created in the fracking process. Recently, ceramic proppants have been developed that may be less hazardous to workers than traditional proppants. Pulmonary function testing of workers producing ceramic proppant was used to assess the potential inhalation hazards of ceramic proppant. 100 male workers from a producer of ceramic proppant were evaluated with pulmonary function test data collected and evaluated using The American Thoracic Society (ATS) acceptability criteria. A comparison group was selected from the Third National health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES III) spirometry laboratory subset. No pulmonary function deficits were found in the worker group in comparison to the NHANES III population. Mean FEV1 and FVC values in workers were 3.8 and 4.8 liters respectively, and were greater as compared to the NHANES III population of similar demographics. An FEV1/FVC ratio of less than 0.8, when compared to the NHANES III group, produced an odds ratio of 0.44 in worker group, indicating less risk of preclinical pulmonary dysfunction. Overall, exposure to ceramic proppant was not found to produce an adverse impact on pulmonary function in workers engaged in the manufacture of ceramic proppant.

On May 1,2002,a law on the prevention and control of occupational diseases has been approved by the National People’s Congress Standing Committee to protect worker’s health in *** 2003,April 25 to May 1 of each year is dedicated to a week long campaign to publicize the law on prevention and control of occupational ***“National Plan on Prevention and Control of occupational Diseases(2016–2020)”and the“healthy China 2030”plan clearly outlines indicators and roadmaps to protect worker’s health.A series of national action plans provide comprehensive strategies and guidelines to improve occupational health,which will address present and future challenges.

Background:Tobacco use,correlated with reduced physical fitness,is one of the leading causes of avoidable death *** increases the risk of dementia and can shorten the lifespan by 10 *** the German Armed Forces(Bundeswehr),figures on smoking behavior have not been comprehensively *** study analyzes current data in a large sample from this ***:Based on an employee survey as part of the occupational health Management System,data on smoking behavior from 13,326 participants were analyzed in relation to age,gender,professional status,education level and membership in military operational units versus other ***:Smoking behavior varied significantly(Polder),gender,professional status,military agency membership status,and education level(the lower the education level,the higher the smoking rates).With the exception of the downward trend in smoking behavior with increasing age among civilian employees,these results were all significant(P<0.005).Conclusions:This data analysis shows that smoking prevalence among personnel in the area of responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Defense is comparable to the current data from corresponding surveys of the German *** on gender,they generally show values that are slightly above those of the German *** well-known trend in the general population of decreasing smoking prevalence with increasing age is also seen in this ***,there are considerable differences in the smoking prevalence among individual subgroups(professional status,agency,gender,education level).The data show that particular young soldiers in the armed forces should be the target group for further preventive measures.

Background:This study aimed to assess the occupational risks encountered by healthcare Workers(HCWs)in Saudi Arabia during the COVID-19 ***:A cross-sectional survey was carried out from May to October *** a multi-stage stratified random sampling technique,an online questionnaire was sent to the recruited HCWs,across Saudi ***:Of the 768 HCWs recruited,702 participated in the survey.A significant majority(over 80%)reported working beyond 8 hours ***-19 infection,confirmed via PCR,was identified in 25%of the ***,infection was significantly correlated with direct or close contact(p=0.0007).Psychological distress was reported by 81%,with anxiety being the most prevalent(33%),followed by stress(19%),depression(17%),and insomnia(12%).Around 20%experienced headaches post-PPE use,while 14%reported adverse skin reactions,predominantly allergy and dermatitis.A concerning one-third of respondents reported exposure to ***:High infection rate,physical and psychological risks among HCWs especially those in direct contact with patients,reflect the need for enhancing the entirety of outbreak preparedness and response,specifically *** surveillance system,is crucial to adequately monitor and support HCWs during pandemic scenarios.
