Psychological interventions for depression in children and adolescents:A bibliometric analysis

BACKGROUND Depression has gradually become a common psychological disorder among children and adolescents.Depression in children and adolescents affects their physical and mental development.Psychotherapy is considered to be one of the main treatment options for depressed children and adolescents.However,our understanding of the global performance and progress of psychological interventions for depression in children and adolescents(PIDCA)research is limited.AIM To identify collaborative research networks in this field and explore the current research status and hotspots through bibliometrics.METHODS Articles and reviews related to PIDCA from January 2010 to April 2023 were identified from the Web of Science core Collection database.The Charticulator website,CiteSpace and VOSviewer software were used to visualize the trends in publications and citations,the collaborative research networks(countries,institutions,and authors),and the current research status and hotspots.RESULTS Until April 16,2023,1482 publications were identified.The number of documents published each year and citations had increased rapidly in this field.The United States had the highest productivity in this field.The most prolific institution was the University of London.Pim Cuijpers was the most prolific author.In the context of research related to PIDCA,both reference co-citation analysis and keywords co-occurrence analysis identified 10 research hotspots,including thirdwave cognitive behavior therapy,short-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy,cognitive behavioral analysis system of psychotherapy,family element in psychotherapy,modular treatment,mobile-health,emotion-regulation-based transdiagnostic intervention program,dementia risk in later life,predictors of the efficacy of psychological intervention,and risks of psychological intervention.CONCLUSION This bibliometric study provides a comprehensive overview of PIDCA from 2010 to present.Psychological intervention characterized as psychological-process-focused,short,family-involved,modular,inte

目的探讨疼痛管理核心能力教育项目对外科护士疼痛知识和疼痛护理实践的影响。方法由多学科团队设计并实施外科护士疼痛护理核心能力教育项目,每周8 h,共2周,内容包括疼痛的多维性质、疼痛评估、药物与非药物治疗以及知识应用等,采用讲授、个案讨论等多种形式的教学方法。采用临床疼痛知识测验(the Clinical Pain Knowledge Test,CPKT)在课程前后对来自17个外科病区的护士进行评估,课程前后分别评估了135、107名护士。在课程前1周及课程后第5周按各病区手术量随机抽取203份患者病历,收集患者的术后疼痛护理实践及疼痛强度评分记录。结果课程实施后护士的临床疼痛知识测验评分由(45.6%±12.3%)提高到(54.2%±10.2%)(t=5.786,P<0.001)。术后疼痛护理实践记录中,疼痛评估记录的比例由59.6%增加到74.9%(χ^(2)=10.746,P=0.001),使用疼痛强度评估工具的比例由81.8%增加到95.4%(χ^(2)=13.079,P<0.001),肌内注射非阿片类药物的比例由12.6%降至2.7%(χ2=7.598,P=0.006)。患者手术当天及术后3 d疼痛程度(最痛平均分)均降低(P<0.05)。结论对外科护士实施疼痛管理核心能力教育项目可提高其疼痛管理核心能力知识水平,改善部分疼痛护理实践,减轻患者的术后疼痛程度。

Leptin,an adipocyte-derived peptide hormone,has been shown to facilitate breathing.However,the central sites and circuit mechanisms underlying the respiratory effects of leptin remain incompletely understood.The present study aimed to address whether neurons expressing leptin receptor b(LepRb)in the nucleus tractus solitarii(NTS)contribute to respiratory control.Both chemogenetic and optogenetic stimulation of LepRb-ex-pressing NTS(NTS^(LepRb))neurons notably activated breathing.Moreover,stimulation of NTS^(LepRb) neurons projecting to the lateral parabrachial nucleus(LPBN)not only remarkably increased basal ventilation to a level similar to that of the stimulation of all NTS^(LepRb) neurons,but also activated LPBN neurons projecting to the preBotzinger complex(preBotC).By contrast,ablation of NTS^pRb neurons projecting to the LPBN notably eliminated the enhanced respiratory effect induced by NTSLepRb neuron stimulation.In brainstem slices,bath application of leptin rapidly depolarized the membrane potential,increased the spontaneous firing rate,and accelerated the Ca2+transients in most NTSLepRb neurons.Therefore,leptin potentiates breathing in the NTS most likely via an NTS-LPBN-preBdtC circuit.

Self-esteem enhancement as a strategy for promoting the mental health and averting the occupational problems of nurses

In recent years, shortage of nurses, high turnover rate, low self-worth, and team instability have become increasingly serious. With the development of positive psychology, more and more nursing managers have begun to attach great importance to the mental health of nurses. Self-esteem, as one of the core indicators of individual mental health, has received extensive attention from researchers in different fields since its inception. This paper reviews and summarizes the research status and development trends of nurses' selfesteem considering the aspects of self-esteem as a concept, assessment tools, significance, and intervention methods. At the same time, it also puts forward problems that need to be solved by undertaking research into nurses' self-esteem, in order to provide a reference for further studies on nurses' self-esteem.

Quality of life of infertile couples in the Gaza Strip, Palestine

Objective:To investigate the quality of life of infertile couples who seek in vitro fertilizations(IVFs)by gender in the Gaza Strip,Palestine.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted,from February 2019 to November 2019,among 383 infertile couples selected through convenient sampling.A valid and reliable Arabic version of the fertility quality of life questionnaire(FertiQoL)was used in data collection.One way analysis of variance and independent t-test were applied to compare between males and females.Results:The mean age of males and females was(34.54±8.54)years and(29.28±6.71)years,respectively.More than half of them had university degree(64%and 60%,respectively).The mean duration of infertility was(5.66±3.54)years.The mean males’scores of FertiQoL and its subscales(emotion,mind/body,social,core,tolerability,and treatment)were significantly higher than females’scores(Pcores of FertiQoL and its subscales than females.The mean score of FertiQoL increases with better education,but decreases with increase of age,duration of marriage,duration of infertility and number of IVF attempts.Routine psychological assessment and counseling are necessary for infertile women taking into considerations factors affecting their quality of life.

Practices of caring for nursing students: A clinical learning environment

Objective:The purpose of this study was to explore,describe and illuminate nursing students'best encounters of caring in the clinical learning environment.Caring for nursing students was emphasized and recommendations provided to enhance caring for nursing students within their clinical learning environment.Methods:Qualitative data was collected by the researcher using semi-structured individual interviews and an Appreciative Inquiry(AI)methodology.Ten second year nursing students undertaking the bridging course leading to registration as general nurses in terms of Regulation 683 of the South African nursing Council(SANC)were purposively sampled from 3 private hospitals within the Western Cape.Data was analysed using Giorgi's method.Results:The main theme included the best and'least best'caring practices embedded in the centrality of the heart.The subthemes comprised of the nursing students'experiences of caring literacy and caring illiteracy.The second theme included the creation of best caring practices within a conducive clinical learning environment.Within this theme,the subthemes comprised of the caring attributes required in reflecting best caring practices,as well the creation of a clinical learning environment to optimise caring.Conclusions:The significance and necessity of caring for the nursing student were clearly illustrated and confirmed by participants.Caring was equated to the heart as the core to the nursing students'being.Recommendations for nursing education,management,practice and research were therefore specifically formulated to enhance caring towards nursing students.

Bibliometrics and visual analysis for clinical research on intervention of traditional Chinese medicine nursing technology on rheumatoid arthritis

Objective:The objective of this study is to explore the current situation,clinical research hot spots,and trends of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)nursing technology in rheumatoid arthritis(RA),to draw a panorama of clinical research,to provide the basis and clues for subsequent high-level evidence integration and further in-depth research.Materials and Methods:Seven databases including China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chinese Scientific Journal Database(VIP),Wanfang Database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(Sino-Med),PubMed,Embase,and the Cochrane Library were searched.The bibliometric method and visualization software CiteSpace were used to conduct a multi-dimensional analysis of the included literature.Results:A total of 805 pieces of literature were included(of them,one was written in German and four in English),and the number of published literature showed an increasing trend year by year.There were only 30(3.73%)pieces of literature published in nursing journals.The hot spots of the co-occurrence map were concentrated in:(1)the nursing of fumigation in RA;(2)the efficacy evaluation of TCM nursing technology on pain,joint malformation,and joint dysfunction caused by RA.The included literature themes focused on five TCM technologies:fumigation,moxibustion,acupoint patching,acupoint injection,and Chinese herbal soaking.The beginning year and strength in TCM fumigation were 2012 and 5.2,and those in moxibustion were 2011 and 3.38.Conclusion:The related studies are on the rise.It has entered the field of international readers with clear research hot spots.However,there are still shortcomings such as little literature published in Chinese nursing core journals,few non-Chinese-related documents,and a lack of international exchanges and cooperation.The current research hot spots in this field are TCM fumigation,and the cutting-edge trend of future research may be fumigation and moxibustion technology.It is suggested that further research can focus on evidence integration and original research on the

心理韧性是从困境中快速恢复的心理能力。医务工作者尤其容易经历与工作相关的压力和倦怠。整体关怀科学(Unitary Caring Science)是华生人文关怀理论的理论框架,并能为临床实践提供理论基础。由于临床工作人员包括护士的倦怠和心理问题发生率较高,因此将人文关怀理论与心理学和神经科学证据相结合,以制订临床工作者的心理韧性构建策略具有重要意义。本文介绍了人文关怀科学的心理韧性模型,并根据人文关怀科学以及心理学和神经科学研究来解释核心策略的科学依据。该模型包括六个策略:对自己和他人有爱心;培养良好的人际关系;打造自我价值及归属感;平衡自我意识和认知;宽恕并释放消极情绪;坚持信念与希望。以人文关怀理论为指导的心理韧性构建策略有利于临床医务工作人员的情绪调节。医护工作具有挑战性,也很有意义。如果临床工作者认为自己只是在没有目标感或满足感的情况下“提供”和“执行”任务,他们容易在精神、心理和身体上感到精疲力尽。但如果医护人员能把自己的工作与为他人服务的价值联系到一起,将有益于医护人员的身心健康。通过人文关怀科学的理论策略,临床工作者可以通过构建心理韧性减轻由工作引起的倦怠和消耗。

Patient Safety Culture Post Covid-19 Pandemic: In Perspective of Millennials Human Capital Issues

Background: Patient safety is the core task of any healthcare business. As medical harm caused by hospitalisation is still on the rise and patient safety culture is a struggle. We aim to determine the nature of patient safety culture in a private hospital and explore some unique human resource problems in Malaysia. Methods: In our case study, we use the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (HSOPSC) questionnaire to measure the 12 dimensions of patient safety culture. The survey received 281 respondents (76% response rate) from all the millennial frontline healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses and allied healthcare providers. The result of the survey was used as the basis to further explore the problems in this hospital. In-depth interviews, observation and document reviews were conducted in relation to human resource problems. This study used IBM SPSS 26 for Windows for statistical analysis and Atlas ti.8 for qualitative analysis of open comments. We used Interpretive Phenomenological Interpretation for analysis of data after triangulation. Results: The overall average positive response rate for the 12 patient safety culture dimensions of the HSOPSC survey was 64%. The result showed that the staff feels positively toward patient safety culture in this hospital. The dimension that received good performance is “Manager expectation”, “Management support for patient safety” and “Organisational learning”. The dimension with the poor performance was “Staffing”, “Frequency of error reporting”, “Teamwork across units”, and “Handoff and transitions”. The open comments indicated inadequate staffing and nursing retention issues. Interviews, observation and document reviews related to staffing reveal high turnover rates among millennial nurses, high overtime and on-call rates, chaotic units with procedures, doctors’ round, admission and discharges mainly in medical and surgical units causing distraction. Making of a Great Filipino Nurse educator

The research study aimed to identify the defining characteristics of a great Filipino nurse educator which have provided input in developing a theoretical model of a great Filipino nurse educator. This research is a qualitative study which employed a grounded theory methodology toward theory development. The following findings generated 26 categories and 9 themes from the responses of 53 nursing students and professionals. Findings revealed that the great Filipino nurse educator is defined to be a world-class (World-Klas) nurse educator who is highly qualified (Kwalipikado) from having education, experience, physical and mental fitness and being a lifelong learner. He is competent (Natatanging Kakayahan) in teaching, leadership and managerial roles, and engages in research and accreditation. He possesses caring (Mapagmahal) behaviors that are shown through communication, passion, compassion, commitment, inspiration and empowerment, transcendence, nurturing and belief in his student’s capabilities. She is equipped with well-rounded personality (Mabuting Pagkatao) comprising of positive traits, versatility, resilience and sense of humor. She is spiritual (Maka-Diyos), patriotic (Maka-Bayan), a role-model (Idolo) and catalyst agent (Tagasulong ng Pagbabago). The road to greatness of a Filipino nurse educator is all attuned with the strongest core of being spiritual and patriotic that makes it very Filipino which demarcates a great Filipino nurse educator from what is not. Each characteristic is significant because all are important in describing what a great Filipino nurse educator is. One characteristic cannot be absent nor removed for it will not decipher the puzzle of what completes the defining characteristics of a great Filipino nurse educator. Total greatness is not an end product;it is an ongoing, deliberative process. Teacher’s greatness is a lifelong pursuit. Greatness is the result of many factors.
