The replacement of Li by Na in an analogue battery to the commercial Li-ion one appears a sustainable strategy to overcome the several concerns triggered by the increased demand for the electrochemical energy ***,the apparently simple change of the alkali metal represents a challenging step which requires notable and dedicated ***,we investigate herein the features of a NaFe_(0.6)Mn_(0.4)PO_(4)(NFMP)cathode with triphylite structure achieved from the conversion of a LiFe0.6Mn0.4PO4(LFMP)olivine for application in Na-ion *** work initially characterizes the structure,morphology and performances in sodium cell of NFMP,achieving a maximum capacity exceeding 100 mAh g^(−1)at a temperature of 55℃,adequate rate capability,and suitable retention confirmed by ex-situ ***,the study compares in parallel key parameters of the NFMP and LFMP such as Na^(+)/Li^(+)ions diffusion,interfacial characteristics,and reaction mechanism in Na/Li cells using various electrochemical *** data reveal that relatively limited modifications of NFMP chemistry,structure and morphology compared to LFMP greatly impact the reaction mechanism,kinetics and electrochemical *** changes are ascribed to the different physical and chemical features of the two compounds,the slower mobility of Na^(+)with respect to Li^(+),and a more resistive electrode/electrolyte interphase of sodium compared with ***,the study reveals analogue trends of the charge transfer resistance and the ion diffusion coefficient in NFMP and LFMP during the electrochemical process in ***,the NFMP achieved herein is suggested as a possible candidate for application in a low-cost,efficient,and environmentally friendly Na-ion battery.

Three dimensional(3D)echocardiogram enables cardiologists to visua-lize suspicious cardiac structures in *** recent years,this three-dimensional echocardiogram carries important clinical value in virtual surgical ***,this 3D echocardiogram involves a trade-off difficulty between accu-racy and efficient computation in clinical *** paper presents a novel Flip Directional 3D Volume Reconstruction(FD-3DVR)method for the recon-struction of echocardiogram *** proposed method consists of two main steps:multiplanar volumetric imaging and 3D volume *** the crea-tion of multiplanar volumetric imaging,two-dimensional(2D)image pixels are mapped into voxels of the volumetric *** the obtained slices are discontin-uous,there are some missing voxels in the volume *** restore the structural and textural information of 3D ultrasound volume,the proposed method creates a volume pyramid in parallel with theflip directional texture ***,the nearest neighbors of missing voxels in the multiplanar volumetric imaging are identified by 3D ANN(Approximate Nearest Neighbor)patch matching ***,aflip directional texture pyramid is proposed and aggregated with distance in patch matching tofind out the most similar *** the recon-struction step,structural and textural information obtained from differentflip angle directions can reconstruct 3D volume well with the desired ***-pared with existing 3D reconstruction methods,the proposed Flip Directional 3D Volume Reconstruction(FD-3DVR)method provides superior performance for the mean peak signal-to-noise ratio(40.538 for the proposed method I and 39.626 for the proposed method II).Experimental results performed on the cardi-ac datasets demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method for the reconstruc-tion of echocardiogram images.

Porphyromonas gingivalis （P. gingivalis） has a strong association with the pathogenesis of periodontal disease. Recurrence of periodontal disease following therapy is attributed to numerous factors, and of growing interest is the potential problem of intracellular bacteria that are able to persist and multiply within the host cell, thereby facilitating relapse of infection. The effect of antibiotic therapy in controlling P. gingivalis is questionable. Accordingly, while metronidazole is very effective against anaerobic extracellular P. gingivalis by disrupting the DNA of anaerobic microbial cells, this antibiotic does not effectively penetrate into mammalian cells to inhibit intracellular bacteria. Therefore in the present study, a modified porphyrin-linked metronidazole adducts, developed in our laboratory, was used to kill intracellular P. gingivalis. A series of experiments were performed, including cytotoxicity assays and cellular uptake of adducts by flow cytometry coupled with live cell imaging analysis, P. gingivalis invasion and elimination assays, and the analysis of colocalization of P. gingivalis and porphyrin-linked metronidazole by confocal laser scanning microscopy. Findings indicated that P. gingivalis and porphyrin-linked metronidazole were colocalized in the cytoplasm, and this compound was able to kill P. gingivalis intracellular with a sufficient culture time. This is a novel antimicrobial approach in the elimination of P. gingivalis from the oral cavity.

Atmospheric heat source anomaly has large influence on the circulation,*** results indicate that heat source anomaly in the lower atmosphere over the Plateau influences the intensity and the position of the monsoon circu- lation while that in the upper atmosphere only affects the *** heating status over the Plateau has slight influ- ence on the westerly jet,north of the Plateau,while it has strong effect on the subtropical jet at the mid and low latitudes.

Esophageal cancer is a common cancer worldwide and has a poor prognosis. The incidence of esophageal squamous cell cancer has been decreasing, whereas the incidence of esophageal adenocarcinoma has been increasing rapidly, particularly in Western men. Squamous cell cancer continues to be the major type of esophageal cancer in Asia, and the main risk factors include tobacco smoking, alcohol consumption, hot beverage drinking, and poor nutrition. In contrast, esophageal adenocarcinoma predominately affects the whites, and the risk factors include smoking, obesity, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. In addition, Asians and Caucasians may have different susceptibilities to esophageal cancer due to different heritage backgrounds. However, comparison studies between these two populations are limited and need to be addressed in the near future. Ethnic differences should be taken into account in preventive and clinical practices.

The rapid advances in the understanding of oncogenic process and the maturation of affordable precision diagnostic tools have enabled the development of targeted therapeutic agents,such as those targeting BCR-ABL,epithelial growth factor receptor L858R,EML4-anaplastic lymphoma kinase,and BRAF V600E,to treat cancers that harbor specific molecular ***,each targeted drug has been developed for a particular tumor type where such alteration is most frequently ***,the widespread adoption of next generation sequencing has led to an increase in the identification of rare and ultra-rare alterations,and,in some cases,the same rare alterations are found across multiple tumor *** rarity of these alterations makes clinical trials traditionally designed for specific tumor types *** a result,tissue-agnostic trials have been developed to study the efficacy of these treatments and increase patient *** review summarizes current successful cases of tissue-agnostic development,such as drugs targeting tropomyosin receptor kinase fusions,and proposes the next wave of potential tissue-agnostic targets,including fusions of ROS1,anaplastic lymphoma kinase,fibroblast growth factor receptor,and rearranged during *** addition,the advantages and the challenges of such approach are discussed in the context of clinical development and approval.
