The title complex [CpIr{N（Ph2PS）2}（N3）]（N（Ph2PS）2=bis（diphenylthiophosphoryl）amide,Cp=pentamethylcyclopentadienyl） has been prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction *** crystallizes in monoclinic,space group P21/n with a=11.6946（1）,b=18.9273（2）,c=15.7859（1）,β=105.731（1）°,V=3363.29（5）3,Z=4,Mr=817.92,Dc=1.615g/cm3,μ（MoKα）=4.219 mm-1,F（000）=1624,S=1.028,the final R=0.0355 and wR=0.0848 for 5987 observed reflections with Ⅰ〉2σ（Ⅰ） and 363 *** molecular structure of 1 consists of discrete monomeric molecule with a distorted octahedral configuration around the iridium atom, having a Cp^＊ ring at one face and bonded with a chelating bis（diphenylthiophosphoryl）amide group as well as a terminal azido ligand. The average Ir-S and Ir-N bond lengths are 2.416（1） and 2.121 （5） A, respectively.

The luminescence of unusual divalent bismuth (Bi2+) in BaB8O13 is reported. The emission band with maximum peak at 592 nm corresponds to the 2P3/2→2P1/2 transition of Bi2+ in the matrix and the excitation spectrum with two bands peaked at 470 and 580 nm respectively corresponds to two split crystal-field levels of 2P3/2 state. The small Stokes shift (~350 cm-1) reflects the rigid structure of the host for the Bi2+ ions

A novel alcohol-soluble polyorganosiroxane containing amino side groups, poly[3-(4-aminophenoxy)-aminophenoxy) propylmethylsiloxane] (2), was first prepared by the reduction of nitro groups on 4-nitrophenoxypropyl side chains of poly[3-(4-nitrophenoxy)propylmethylsiloxane] (1). The reaction proceeded easily with nearly 100% conversion. The synthesized alcohol-soluble polymer 2, which has potential application as a precursor for preparing advanced functional polymers, was characterized by FTIR, H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, Si-29-NMR, VPO and GPC, respectively.

Diamidine （A） was identified in our in vitro bio-assay as a possible inhibitor of ketol-acid reductoisomerase （KARI） from the ACD database search based on the known three-dimensional crystal structure of KARI. An investigation on interaction of A on KARI active sites, led to the design and synthesis of 15 novel monoamidines. Some of those showed better biological activity than A on rice KARI （in vitro） and in greenhouse herbicidal tests （in vivo）. The structure-biological activity relationship was investigated, which provides valuable information to further study of potential KARI inhibitors.

An unbridged zirconocene complex bis(1,2-diphenylcyclopentadienyl)zirconium dichloride [(1,2-Ph2-C5H3)2ZrCl2] 1 has been synthesized and structurally characterized. When activated by MAO, 1 produces ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene with high melting transition temperature, as well as atactic oligopropylene with average molecular weight of ~1150 g mol-1.

The (β-cyclodextrin (CD) dimer bridged with aspartic acid (ASP) derivative, FITC-ASP(NH-(-CD)2 (Host, FITC=fluorescein-4-isothiocyanate), was synthesized. Fluorescence polarization study showed that the novel host formed an inclusion compound, [FITC-ASP(NH-(-CD)2]ATA, for which Kd was determined to be 5.0×10-6 mol/L by Beacon 2000 Analyzer, when ATA (Guest) = Adm-Trp-Arg-Arg-NH2 (Adm = 1-adamantanecarboxylic acid, Trp = tryptophan, Arg = arginine), where Kd is the dissociation constant in aqueous solution at 298 K.

Understanding the impact of meltwater discharge during the final stage of the Laurentide Ice Sheet(LIS)has important implications for predicting sea level rise and climate *** we present a highresolution ice-core isotopic record from the central Tibetan Plateau(TP),where the climate is sensitive to the meltwater forcing,and explore possible signals of the climate response to potential LIS meltwater discharges in the early to *** record shows four abrupt large fluctuations during the 7–9 ka BP(kiloannum before present),reflecting large shifts of the mid-latitude westerlies and the Indian summer monsoon(ISM)over this period,and they corresponded to possible LIS freshwater events documented in other paleoclimate *** study suggests that multiple rapid meltwater discharge events might have occurred during the final stage of *** finding implies the possibility of rapid sea level rise and unstable climate in the transition zone between the mid-latitude westerlies and the ISM due to fast polar ice retreat under the anthropogenic global warming.
