The leaves of Eucalyptus are abundant in natural resources as a novel potential antioxidant and have broad market *** of characteristic hydrolysable tannins from Eucalyptus leaves have been demonstrated great application potential as natural antioxidants in our previous *** this study,the bioactive activities of another hydrolysable tannin isolated and identified as oenothein B(OEB)were *** of bioactive compound(hydrolysable tannin)from different Eucalyptus species and regions in southern China were *** results showed that OEB not only exerted anti-proliferative activity against HepG2 cell,but also showed higher cellular antioxidant activity than some common ***,content of characteristic hydrolysable tannins decreased in the order of OEB>tellimagrandin I(T1)>pedunculagin>gemin D>pentagalloyl glucose(PGG).***×*** GL9 and ***×*** could be recommended as new natural sources to exploit hydrolysable tannins because of high content,widely plantation and strong *** study supplied first insight on introduction of high cellular antioxidant activity of OEB and selecting the species and region to exploit natural *** will promote the increasing of economic value of Eucalyptus.

The responses of soil microbes to global warming and nitrogen enrichment can profoundly affect terrestrial ecosystem functions and the ecosystem feedbacks to climate ***,the interactive effect of warming and nitrogen enrichment on soil microbial community is *** this study,individual and interactive effects of experimental warming and nitrogen addition on the soil microbial community were investigated in a long-term field experiment in a temperate steppe of northern *** field experiment started in 2006 and soils were sampled in 2010 and analyzed for phospholipid fatty acids to characterize the soil microbial *** soil chemical properties were also ***-year experimental warming significantly increased soil total microbial biomass and the proportion of Gram-negative bacteria in the ***-term nitrogen addition decreased soil microbial biomass at the 0-10 cm soil depth and the relative abundance of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the *** interactive effect on soil microbes was detected when experimental warming and nitrogen addition were *** microbial biomass positively correlated with soil total C and N,but basically did not relate to the soil C/N ratio and *** results suggest that future global warming or nitrogen enrichment may significantly change the soil microbial communities in the temperate steppes in northern China.

To fabricate an oil-water separation material that is rich in source,eco-friendly,and responsive,in this study,we successfully developed a collagen-based sponge for application to oil-water separation based on a green and facile *** this design,widely-available collagen(COL)was used as the substrate:it was immersed in polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)suspension with candle soot(CS)nanoparticles,followed by hot *** resultant sponge(CS/PDMS-COL)possessed good hydrophobicity with a water contact angle of 148.3°under a low PDMS concentration of 2%.The results from field emission scanning electron microscope,Fourier transform infrared spectrometer,X-ray photoelectron spectrometer,and X-ray diffractometry demonstrated the successful coating of CS and PDMS on the surface of COL *** CS/PDMS-COL can adsorb eight oils,with the adsorption capacity for trichloromethane reaching 95 g/*** benzene as the target adsorbent,the separation efficiency was maintained at no less than 95%even after recycling 20 ***/PDMS-COL was also used to separate oil-in-water ***,the sponge killed bacteria effectively due to its excellent near-infrared photothermal *** study provides new insight into the preparation of facile oil-water separation materials based on naturally occurring biomaterials effortlessly.

There is a crucial need in the study of global change to understand how terrestrial ecosystems respond to the climate *** has been demonstrated by many researches that Normalized Different Vegetation Index(NDVI)time series from remotely sensed data,which provide effective information of vegetation conditions on a large scale with highly temporal resolution,have a good relation with meteorological ***,few of these studies have taken the cumulative property of NDVI time series into *** this study,NDVI difference series were proposed to replace the original NDVI time series with NDVI difference series to reappraise the relationship between NDVI and meteorological *** a proxy of the vegetation growing process,NDVI difference represents net primary productivity of vegetation at a certain time interval under an environment controlled by certain climatic conditions and other *** data replacement is helpful to eliminate the cumulative effect that exist in original NDVI time series,and thus is more appropriate to understand how climate system affects vegetation growth in a short time *** using the correlation analysis method,we studied the relationship between NOAA/AVHRR ten-day NDVI difference series and corresponding meteorological data from 1983 to 1999 from 11 meteorological stations located in the Xilingole steppe in Inner *** results show that:(1)meteorological factors are found to be more significantly correlation with NDVI difference at the biomass-rising phase than that at the falling phase;(2)the relationship between NDVI difference and climate variables varies with vegetation types and vegetation *** a typical steppe dominated by Leymus chinensis,temperature has higher correlation with NDVI difference than precipitation does,and in a typical steppe dominated by Stipa krylovii,the correlation between temperature and NDVI difference is lower than that between precipitation and NDVI *** a typ

Viscum coloratum(Kom.)Nakai is a well-known medicinal hemiparasite widely distributed in *** synthesis and accumulation of its metabolites are affected by both environmental factors and the host plants,while the latter of which is usually *** purpose of this study was to comprehensively evaluate the effects of host and habitat on the metabolites in *** through multiple chemical and biological *** metabolite profile of *** harvested from three different host plants in two habitats were determined by multiple chemical methods including high-performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet(HPLC-UV),gas chromatography-flame ionization detector(GC-FID)and ultra-performance liquid chromatography quadrupole time of flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-QTOF/MS).The differences in antioxidant efficacy of *** were determined based on multiple in vitro *** multivariate statistical analysis and data fusion strategy were applied to analyze the differences in metabolite profile and antioxidant activity of *** indicated that the metabolite profile obtained by various chemical approaches was simultaneously affected by host and environment factors,and the environment plays a key ***,three main differential metabolites between two environment groups were *** results of antioxidant assay indicated that the environment has greater effects on the biological activity of *** than the ***,we conclude that the integration of various chemical and biological approaches combined with multivariate statistical and data fusion analysis,which can determine the influences of host plant and habitat on the metabolites,is a powerful strategy to control the quality of semi-parasitic herbal medicine.

With the increasing energy demand and environmental pressures caused by consumption of fossil fuels, the world casts their eyes on new energy, hoping to transform the existing energy structure through technological innovation to new energy field, to promote the optimization and upgrading of the world’s energy structure. The new energy in key areas of Chinese high-tech industries includes mainly nuclear power, wind power, solar power, IGCC (Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle), new energy vehicles and smart grids. The present paper will carry on an in-depth study on IGCC industry technology roadmap in China. Technology roadmap is a kind of technology management tool, expressing the structure and time dimension of technical elements’ evolution with icons. It spans a wide range of applications from a single company to industry, and national and international coalition, from detailed product technology to component technology, as well as the integration of several relevant industry technologies. The roadmap is a kind of multi-layered time-dependent icon. IGCC industry has excellent environmental characteristics and benefits, which are in accordance with the principle of coordinated development between energy and environment. Based on the analysis of current situation, market demand, industry objectives and technical barriers of IGCC technology, we highlight IGCC industrial development model with Chinese characteristics, and concisely propose the major research needs and technology projects of key technology areas in IGCC industry. CCCH is a subfamily of zinc finger proteins involved in plant growth,development,and stresses *** function of CCCH in regulating leaf senescence,especially its roles in abscisic acid(ABA)-mediated leaf senescence is largely *** objective of this study was to determine functions and mechanisms of CCCH gene in regulating leaf senescence in switchgrass(Panicum virgatum).A CCCH gene,PvCCCH69(PvC3H69),was cloned from *** PvC3H69 in rice suppressed both natural senescence with leaf aging and dark-induced leaf *** ABA content,ABA biosynthesis genes(NCED3,NCED5,and AAO3),and ABA signaling-related genes(SnRKs,ABI5,and ABF2/3/4)exhibited significantly lower levels in senescencing leaves of PvC3H69-OE plants than those in WT ***3H69-suppression of leaf senescence was associated with transcriptional upregulation of genes mainly involved in the light-dependent process of photosynthesis,including light-harvesting complex proteins,PSI proteins,and PSII proteins and downregulation of ABA biosynthesis and signaling genes and senescence-associated ***3H69 could act as a repressor for leaf senescence via upregulating photosynthetic proteins and repressing ABA synthesis and ABA signaling pathways.

The suspension-feeding sea cucumber Cucumaria frondosa has become commercially important in recent *** proper diets is the first important step for intensive aquaculture of this sea *** this study,adult *** were exposed to one of the following diet treatments:control(no diet provided),two powdered seaweeds(Ascophyllum nodosum and Saccharina latissima),a commercially available microalgal diet(shellfish diet)and natural *** effects of diets on the feeding behavior and physiological properties of sea cucumbers were investigated after a 5-week rearing *** show that sea cucumbers fed with shellfish diet exhibited a significantly higher tentacle insertion rate(1.80±0.20 insertion/min)than these fed with seaweed powders,and there was no significant different between the two groups fed by seaweed *** significant difference was found on the fecal production rate among the feeding *** minimum oxygen consumption rate was observed in the control group(5.76±0.99μg O2/(g·h)),which is significantly lower than individuals fed with ***,shellfish diet,and natural seston;however,no significant difference was shown between those of control and *** *** maximum ammonium excretion rate was found in the *** group(0.03±0.01μmol/(g·h)),which is significantly higher than other *** minimum O/N ratio was observed in the *** group(14.57±1.04),which is significantly lower than the ***,shellfish diet,and natural seston *** fed with seaweed powders had similar physiological properties with these fed with microalgae diet and natural seston,indicating that *** and *** can be explored as promising diets for intensive aquaculture of ***.
