This paper highlights the crucial role of Indonesia’s GNSS receiver network in advancing Equatorial Plasma Bubble(EPB)studies in Southeast and East Asia,as ionospheric irregularities within EPB can disrupt GNSS signals and degrade positioning *** by the Indonesian Geospatial Information Agency(BIG),the Indonesia Continuously Operating Reference Station(Ina-CORS)network comprises over 300 GNSS receivers spanning equatorial to southern low-latitude ***-CORS is uniquely situated to monitor EPB generation,zonal drift,and dissipation across Southeast *** provide a practical tool for EPB research,by sharing two-dimensional rate of Total Electron Content(TEC)change index(ROTI)derived from this *** generate ROTI maps with a 10-minute resolution,and samples from May 2024 are publicly available for further scientific *** preliminary findings from the ROTI maps of Ina-CORS are ***,the Ina-CORS ROTI maps reveal that the irregularities within a broader EPB structure persist longer,increasing the potential for these irregularities to migrate farther ***,we demonstrate that combined ROTI maps from Ina-CORS and GNSS receivers in East Asia and Australia can be used to monitor the development of ionospheric irregularities in Southeast and East *** have demonstrated the combined ROTI maps to capture the development of ionospheric irregularities in the Southeast/East Asian sector during the G5 Geomagnetic Storm on May 11,*** observed simultaneous ionospheric irregularities in Japan and Australia,respectively propagating northwestward and southwestward,before midnight,whereas Southeast Asia’s equatorial and low-latitude regions exhibited irregularities *** sharing ROTI maps from Indonesia and integrating them with regional GNSS networks,researchers can conduct comprehensive EPB studies,enhancing the understanding of EPB behavior across Southeast and East Asia and contributing significantly to ionosphe

Binary compatibility for embedded systems using greedy subgraph mapping

We propose a novel lightweight code generation algorithm GSM(Greedy Subgraph Mapping),which can generate compact code with low overhead using many-to-one *** is implemented and evaluated in a dynamic binary translation prototype system called *** results demonstrate that GSM generates higher quality target code than a conventional implementation,which brings an average code expansion rate close to 1.3 for the selected 11 ***,GSM causes slightly extra overhead and negligible slowdown of translation and enables 10%performance improvement for target code execution.

Kinetic calculations for the thermal decomposition of calcium propionate under non-isothermal conditions

Calcium propionate (CP) is shown to be useful for simultaneous SO2/NO reduction in coal-fired power plants and its thermal decomposition characteristics are measured by thermogravimetric analysis in a feasibility study into more complete reduction of these hazardous gases. Calcium carbonate (CC), which has been used primarily for in-furnace desulfuration, was used for comparison. The thermal decomposition of this organic calcium-based sorbent began at low temperature, i.e. the carboxylic radical was evaporated from 565 K to 759 K for CP and the corresponding mass loss percentage was 47.79%. The residual was subsequently decomposed to release carbon dioxide between 843 K and 1012 K. The latter phase of the process occurred more readily than with CC because of the loose structure of CP resulting from evaporation of the carboxylic radical in the low temperature zone, which could be seen directly by scanning electron microscope. The maximum mass loss rates of this phase occurred at temperatures of 972 K and 1012 K for CP and CC, respectively. The Ozawa-Flynn-Wall method was used to calculate the activation energy during the thermal decomposition process at heating rates of 5, 7.5, 10 and 15 K/min. The result further confirmed the multistage characteristic of CP thermal decomposition, which could be seen in differential thermogravimetry curves. The reaction orders of CP in the conversion range 20%-80%, calculated using the Avrami theory were from 0.061 to 0.608, smaller than those of CC, which were 1.647 to 2.084.

An improved memristor model for brain-inspired computing

Memristors, as memristive devices, have received a great deal of interest since being fabricated by HP labs. The forgetting effect that has significant influences on memristors＇ performance has to be taken into account when they are employed. It is significant to build a good model that can express the forgetting effect well for application researches due to its promising prospects in brain-inspired computing. Some models are proposed to represent the forgetting effect but do not work well. In this paper, we present a novel window function, which has good performance in a drift model. We analyze the deficiencies of the previous drift diffusion models for the forgetting effect and propose an improved model. Moreover,the improved model is exploited as a synapse model in spiking neural networks to recognize digit images. Simulation results show that the improved model overcomes the defects of the previous models and can be used as a synapse model in brain-inspired computing due to its synaptic characteristics. The results also indicate that the improved model can express the forgetting effect better when it is employed in spiking neural networks, which means that more appropriate evaluations can be obtained in applications.

ALLIANCE-ROS:A Software Framework on ROS for Fault-Tolerant and Cooperative Mobile Robots

Programming control systems for mobile robots is complicated and time-consuming, due to three aspects, i.e., the robot behavior coordination, the distributed multi-robot cooperation and the robot software reusability. Subsumption model is a robust control architecture for mobile robots. ALLIANCE model extends it to multirobot systems, which is a fully distributed, fault-tolerant model. Robot operating system(ROS) provides a lot of reusable robot modules. By combining the above three, we propose a software framework named ALLIANCE-ROS for developing fault-tolerant cooperative multi-robot systems with abundant software resources available. We encapsulate the ROS facilities to build the framework *** also use some high-performance plugin-based mechanism to optimize the bottom of the framework. One may use the framework-provided API conveniently to construct single-robot and multi-robot applications with all ROS resources available. This work is demonstrated by three application cases including an autonomous roving robot, a security patrol robot and multiple patrol robots. They are constructed and tested in both the simulated and the real environment. The experimental results validate the usability and availability of ALLIANCE-ROS.

The quantum Ising model for perfect matching and solving it with variational quantum eigensolver

Obtaining all perfect matchings of a graph is a tough problem in graph theory, and its complexity belongs to the #P-Complete class. The problem is closely related to combinatorics, marriage matching problems, dense subgraphs, the Gaussian boson sampling, chemical molecular structures, and dimer *** this paper, we propose a quadratic unconstrained binary optimization formula of the perfect matching problem and translate it into the quantum Ising model. We can obtain all perfect matchings by mapping them to the ground state of the quantum Ising Hamiltonian and solving it with the variational quantum eigensolver. Adjusting the model's parameters can also achieve the maximum or minimum weighted perfect matching. The experimental results on a superconducting quantum computer of the Origin Quantum Computing Technology Company show that our model can encode 2~n dimensional optimization space with only O（n） qubits consumption and achieve a high success probability of the ground state corresponding to all perfect matchings. In addition, the further simulation results show that the model can support a scale of more than 14 qubits, effectively resist the adverse effects of noise, and obtain a high success probability at a shallow variational depth. This method can be extended to other combinatorial optimization problems.

Analysis and modeling of resistive switching mechanism oriented to fault tolerance of resistive memory based on memristor

With the progress of the semiconductor industry, resistive memories, especially the memristor, have drawn increasing attention. The resistive memory based on memrsitor has not been commercialized mainly because of data error. Currently, there are more studies focused on fault tolerance of resistive memory. This paper studies the resistive switching mechanism which may have time-varying characteristics. Resistive switching mechanism is analyzed and its respective circuit model is established based on the memristor Spice model.

Optimal subsystem approach to multi-qubit quantum state discrimination and experimental investigation

Quantum computing is a significant computing capability which is superior to classical computing because of its superposition feature. Distinguishing several quantum states from quantum algorithm outputs is often a vital computational task. In most cases, the quantum states tend to be non-orthogonal due to superposition; quantum mechanics has proved that perfect outcomes could not be achieved by measurements, forcing repetitive measurement. Hence, it is important to determine the optimum measuring method which requires fewer repetitions and a lower error rate. However, extending current measurement approaches mainly aiming at quantum cryptography to multi-qubit situations for quantum computing confronts challenges, such as conducting global operations which has considerable costs in the experimental realm. Therefore, in this study, we have proposed an optimum subsystem method to avoid these difficulties. We have provided an analysis of the comparison between the reduced subsystem method and the global minimum error method for two-qubit problems; the conclusions have been verified experimentally. The results showed that the subsystem method could effectively discriminate non-orthogonal two-qubit states, such as separable states, entangled pure states, and mixed states; the cost of the experimental process had been significantly reduced, in most circumstances, with acceptable error rate. We believe the optimal subsystem method is the most valuable and promising approach for multi-qubit quantum computing applications.

Evaluation of model checkers by verifying message passing programs

Benchmarks and evaluation are important for the development of techniques and tools. Studies regarding evaluation of model checkers by large-scale benchmarks are few. The lack of such studies is mainly because of the language difference of existing model checkers and the requirement of intensive labor in building models. In this study, we present a large-scale benchmark for evaluating model checkers whose inputs are concurrent models. The benchmark consists of 2318 models that are generated automatically from real-world message passing interface(MPI) programs. The complexities of the models have been inspected to be well distributed and suitable for evaluating model checkers. Based on the benchmark, we have evaluated five state-of-the-art model checkers, i.e., PAT, FDR, Spin, PRISM, and NuSMV, by verifying the deadlock freedom property. The evaluation results demonstrate the ability and performance difference of these model checkers in verifying message passing programs.

Semi-analytical model for quasi-double-layer surface electrode ion traps

To realize scale quantum processors,the surface-electrode ion trap is an effective scaling approach,including singlelayer,double-layer,and quasi-double-layer *** calculate critical trap parameters such as the trap center and trap depth,the finite element method（FEM） simulation was widely used,however,it is always time ***,the FEM simulation is also incapable of exhibiting the direct relationship between the geometry dimension and these *** eliminate the problems above,House and Madsen et *** respectively provided analytic models for single-layer traps and double-layer *** this paper,we propose a semi-analytical model for quasi-double-layer *** model can be applied to calculate the important parameters above of the ion trap in the trap design *** this model,we can quickly and precisely find the optimum geometry design for trap electrodes in various cases.
