The title compound 2-（2-methoxy-4-nitrophenylcarbamoyl）phenyl-4＇-fluorobenzoate （C21H15FN206, Mr = 410.35）, a fluorine-containing derivative of salicylamide, was conve- niently synthesized through two steps and crystallized in the orthorhombic space group P21/c with a = 7.6453（15）, b = 14.323（3）, c = 17.035（3） A, V= 1865.4（6） A3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.461 Mg/m^3, 2 = 0.71073 A, μ（MoKa） = 0.115 mm-1, F（000） = 848, R = 0.0705 and wR = 0.1834 for 3267 independent refections with 1 〉 2σ（I）. X-ray analysis reveals that the dihedral angles formed between the 2-methoxy-4-nitrobenzene and benzene ring, the benzene and 4-fluorobenzene, and the 2-methoxy-4-nitrobenzene and 4-fluorobenzene ring are 3.2（4）, 69.8（3） and 72.9（2）~, respectively. Bioassay shows that the title compound has anti-parasitic activity against hydatid protoscoleces.

The title compound 4-chloro-2-（morpholine-4-carbonyl）phenyl-4＇-methoxybenzoate（C19H18ClNO5, Mr = 375.79）, a 5-chlorosalicylic acid derivative incorporating morpholine moiety, was conveniently synthesized through two steps and crystallized in the monoclinic space group P21/c with a = 7.8501（10）, b = 9.3149（12）, c = 25.133（3）, V = 1836.2（4）3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.359 Mg/m^3, λ = 0.71073, μ（MoKα） = 0.237 mm^-1, F（000） = 784, R = 0.0447 and wR = 0.1227 for 3982 independent reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. The dihedral angles formed between 4-methoxybenzene and 5-chlorobenzene rings, the 5-chlorobenzene and morpholine, and 4-methoxybenzene and morpholine rings are 82.55（3）, 72.56（5） and 47.68（0）° by X-ray analysis, respectively. Bioassay shows that the title compound has a good molluscidal effect.

Visceral leishmaniasis(VL)(kala-azar)was most seriously prevalent in the plain regions of eight provinces/municipalities in the eastern and central parts of *** the early 1950s,the number of counties/cities endemic for VL and the number of cases in the plain regions accounted for 60%and 80%,respectively,of the total numbers in the entire *** implementing comprehensive control measures,including treatment of patients for eliminating the source of infection and spraying insecticide in endemic villages to kill sandflies,VL transmission has been brought under control in this region by the early 1960s,and no new infected cases have been found since 1983,achieving the goal of eliminating VL.

Introduction:Antimalarial drug resistance,especially artemisinin resistance,has been a global threat to reduce morbidity and mortality and to eliminate *** drug resistance surveillance could provide evidence for the efficacy of a national drug policy for treatment of all reported malaria ***:The therapeutic efficacy of dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine(DHA-PPQ)and chloroquine(CQ)for the treatment of uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax infection,respectively,was evaluated by enrolling patients between 2016 and *** of molecular markers involved collecting blood samples by passive or active detection and amplifying the drug resistance genes Pfcrt,Pfmdr1,Pfdhfr,Pfdhps,and ***:DHA-PPQ and CQ were effective for the treatment of *** and *** infections,with cure rates>90%and 100%,*** the 2,492 samples,the Pfcrt wild-type CVMNK was the most frequent haplotype(70.1%,1,747/2,492),while 19.4%(484/2,492)displayed the triple mutant haplotype *** total of 228 isolates with sequencing in Pfdhfr and Pfdhps,high mutant prevalence of 98.7%and 95.2%were detected,respectively.A total of 54 non-synonymous mutations in the PfK13 propeller domain were confirmed with a prevalence of 3.5%(87/2,483),and the most common mutation was A578S,with a proportion of 16.1%(14/87),followed by Q613E(6.9%,6/87).Conclusion and Implications for Public Health Practice:DHA-PPQ and CQ,the first line drugs for *** and *** treatment,showed efficacy in *** markers showed high levels of polymorphism and resistance,which revealed an early warning of drug resistance in imported cases.

Schistosomiasis, caused by infections with Schistosoma japonicum, is one of the human parasitic diseases that remains a public health problem throughout the world＇s tropical and subtropical regions. Stannous chloride dihydrate is used as an efficient catalyst in reductive cyclization of 2-nitro-5- substituted aniline Schiff base leading to stable 2,5-disubstitued benzimidazole derivatives in excellent yields with good purity. It provides a novel method of synthesis of 2,5-disubstitued benzimidazole under reductive system at room temperature.

The dihydrofolate reductase(dhfr)and dihydropteroate synthetase(dhps)genes of Plasmodium vivax,as antifolate resistance-associated genes were used for drug resistance surveillance.A total of 375 *** isolates collected from different geographical locations in China in 2009–2019 were used to sequence Pvdhfr and *** majority of the isolates harbored a mutant type allele for Pvdhfr(94.5%)and Pvdhps(68.2%).The most predominant point mutations were S117T/N(77.7%)in Pvdhfr and A383G(66.8%)in *** acid changes were identified at nine residues in Pvdhfr.A quadruple-mutant haplotype at 57,58,61,and 117 was the most frequent(57.4%)among 16 distinct Pvdhfr *** in Pvdhps were detected at six codons,and the double-mutant A383G/A553G was the most prevalent(39.3%).Pvdhfr exhibited a higher mutation prevalence and greater diversity than Pvdhps in *** isolates from Yunnan carried multiple mutant haplotypes,while the majority of samples from temperate regions and Hainan Island harbored the wild type or single mutant *** study indicated that the antifolate resistance levels of *** parasites were different across China and molecular markers could be used to rapidly monitor drug *** provided evidence for updating national drug policy and treatment guidelines.

This historical review covers antimalarials developed in China,which include artemisinin,artemether,artesunate,and dihydroartemisinin,as well as other synthetic drugs such as piperaquine,pyronaridine,benflumetol(lumefantrine),and *** curative effects of these antimalarials in the treatment of falciparum malaria,including chloroquine-resistant strain,are especially *** the World Health Organization(WHO)recommended artemisinin-based combination therapy(ACT),different combinations of artemisinin,or its derivative,along with another antimalarial drug were orally used to treat Plasmodium falciparum *** recrudescence rates were low,gametocyte carriers lessened,and the curative rate increased *** combination therapy effectively deferred the emergence of drug resistance in the *** regulation“The guidelines and regimens for the use of antimalarial drugs in China”was issued to guide rational application and standardize malaria treatment in the *** the recommended first-line drug to treat falciparum malaria in the world,ACT was adopted in the *** response to the global initiative of malaria eradication proposed by the UN Millennium Development Goals(MDGs),the Chinese government has set a target to eliminate malaria by 2020.

Since the successful preparation of the microplates and the medium for field application,the resistance degree and its geographical distribution of chloroquine-resistant Plasmodium falciparum,the fluctuation of the resistance degree of *** to chloroquine,and the sensitivity of the parasite to commonly used antimalarial drugs were investigated between 1980 and 2003 by the in vitro microtest and the in vivo four-week test recommended by the World Health Organization(WHO).The results indicated that chloroquine-resistant falciparum malaria was present in all eight provinces/autonomous regions endemic for falciparum malaria in China,and the resistance was high and widely distributed in the Hainan and Yunnan *** the use of chloroquine was stopped or administered in a decreased quanity,the drug resistance gradually *** Hainan and Yunnan,*** was still highly resistant to chloroquine,amodiaquine and piperaquine,and sensitive to pyronaridine and artemisinin derivatives,but the sensitivity was gradually *** on these results,principles and therapeutic regimens for antimalarial drug use in China were formulated,the use of the antimalarials which had already developed resistance was stopped or reduced,and recommendations to use artemisinin derivatives or compound pyronaridine to promote a rational use of antimalarials and strengthen malaria control were *** results showed that malaria incidence had declined,and endemic areas of falciparum malaria have been gradually reducing since the mid-1980s.
