Enhancing forecasting of current-carrying performance through spatial frequency analysis of interface morphology

Electrical contact interfaces, integral to devices such as connectors, switches, and conductive slip rings, play a crucial role in determining current-carrying capabilities. This study adopts spatial frequency analysis to assess the currentcarrying performance of interfaces based on their morphological characteristics. Initially, rough surfaces with various parameters, including the cutoff frequency(N), the spectral index(β), and the gain factor(A), were generated using spatial frequency methods, followed by current-carrying simulations. The findings reveal that the characteristic parameters derived from spatial frequency methods exhibit a significantly stronger correlation with current-carrying performance than traditional roughness metrics. To enhance the practical applicability of this research, a physical-informed machine learning approach for rough surface features extraction was developed, demonstrating high predictive parameter identification accuracy for the three parameters. Overall, this paper introduces a tribo-informatics approach for analyzing and extracting rough surface features that considers the curvature characteristics of contact points. This approach holds significant potential for evaluating the processing state of current-carrying interfaces, selecting high-quality surfaces, and forecasting current-carrying performances.

Objective To prepare the 4 candidate vaccine strains of H5N1 avian influenza virus isolated in China Methods Recombinant viruses were rescued using reverse genetics. Neuraminidase （NA） and hemagglutinin （HA） segments of the A/Xinjiang/1/2006, A/Guangxi/1/2009, A/Hubei/1/2010, and A/Guangdong/1/2011 viruses were amplified by RT-PCR. Multibasic amino acid cleavage site of HA was removed and ligated into the pCIpoll vector for virus rescue. The recombinant viruses were evaluated by trypsin dependent assays. Their embnjonate survival and antigenicity were compared with those of the respective wild-type viruses. Results The 4 recombinant viruses showed similar antigenicity compared with wild-type viruses, chicken embryo survival and trypsin-dependent characteristics. Conclusion The 4 recombinant viruses rescued using reverse genetics meet the criteria for classification of low pathogenic avian influenza strains, thus supporting the use of them for the development of seeds and production of pre-pandemic vaccines.

For any pair of integers g and n with g ≥ 3 and 1 ≤ n ≤ g, we build a 3-manifold with a distance-2,genus-g Heegaard splitting so that(1) it contains n pairwise disjoint and nonisotopic essential tori;(2) after it is cut open along these tori, one resulting piece is hyperbolic while the others are small Seifert fibered spaces;(3) it provides a substantial result to the rank versus genus problem. These generalize a result in Qiu and Zou(2019).

Inflammation is a driving force of hematopoietic stem cells(HSCs) aging, causing irreversible exhaustion of functional HSCs. However, the underlying mechanism of HSCs erosion by inflammatory insult remains poorly understood. Here, we find that transient LPS exposure primes aged HSCs to undergo accelerated differentiation at the expense of self-renewal, leading to depletion of HSCs. Meanwhile, the central regulator nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB) mediating functional impairment by inflammation insult induces differential transcriptional response in aged HSCs compared with young HSCs, with precocious activation of myeloid lineage genes. Altered compartmentalization and chromatin loop formation are associated with aging-related differential transcriptional response in HSCs upon lipopolysaccharide(LPS)stimulation. Mechanistically, enhancer and promoter regions of myeloid lineage genes in aged HSCs are more accessible and display more rapid and prominent CTCF occupancy upon LPS stimulation. Our study provides comprehensive resources for the three-dimensional(3D)genome structure of HSCs and sheds light into the ordered genome organization and the associated transcriptome signature underlying HSCs aging.

Conventional influenza vaccines need to be designed and manufactured ***,they occasionally provide poor protection owing to antigenic ***,there is an urgent need to develop universal vaccines against influenza *** nucleoprotein(NP)and extracellular domain of matrix protein 2(M2e)genes from the influenza A virus A/Beijing/30/95(H3N2),we constructed four recombinant vaccinia virus-based influenza vaccines carrying NP fused with one or four copies of M2e genes in different *** recombinant vaccinia viruses were used to immunize BALB/C *** and cellular responses were measured,and then the immunized mice were challenged with the influenza A virus A/Puerto Rico/8/34(PR8).NP-specific humoral response was elicited in mice immunized with recombinant vaccinia viruses carrying full-length NP,while robust M2e-specific humoral response was elicited only in the mice immunized with recombinant vaccinia viruses carrying multiple copies of *** recombinant viruses elicited NP-and M2e-specific cellular immune responses in *** immunization with RVJ-4M2eNP induced remarkably higher levels of IL-2 and IL-10 cytokines specific to ***,RVJ-4M2eNP immunization provided the highest cross-protection in mice challenged with 20 MLD5〇of ***,the cross-protection potentially correlates with both NP and M2e-specific humoral and cellular immune responses induced by RVJ-4M2eNP,which expresses a fusion antigen of full-length NP preceded by four M2e *** results suggest that the rational fusion of NP and multiple M2e antigens is critical toward inducing protective immune responses,and the 4M2eNP fusion antigen may be employed to develop a universal influenza vaccine.

Direct seawater splitting has emerged as a popular and promising research direction for synthesising clean,green,non-polluting,and sustainable hydrogen energy without depending on high-purity water in the face of the world’s shortage of fossil ***,efficient seawater splitting is hindered by slow kinetics caused by the ultra-low conductivity and the presence of bacteria,microorganisms,and stray ions in ***,producing hydrogen on an industrial scale is challenging due to the high production *** present review addresses these challenges from the catalyst point of view,namely,that designing catalysts with high catalytic activity and stability can directly affect the rate and effect of seawater *** the ion transfer perspective,designing membranes can block harmful ions,improving the stability of seawater *** the energy point of view,mixed seawater systems and self-powered systems also provide new and low-energy research systems for seawater ***,ideas and directions for further research on direct seawater splitting in the future are pointed out,with the aim of achieving low-cost and high-efficiency hydrogen production.

Sodium-ion batteries （SIBs） with organic electrodes are an emerging research direction due to the sustainability of organic materials based on elements like C,H,O,and sodium ***,organic electrode materials for SIBs are mainly used as cathodes because of their relatively high redox potentials（>1 V）.Organic electrodes with low redox potential that can be used as anode are ***,a novel organic anode material （tetrasodium 1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylate,Na4TDC） has been developed with low redox potential （<0.7 V） and excellent cyclic *** three-sodium storage mechanism was demonstrated with various in-situ/ex-situ spectroscopy and theoretical calculations,showing a high capacity of 208 mAh/g and an average decay rate of merely 0.022%per ***,the Na4TDC-hard carbon composite can further acquire improved capacity and cycling stability for 1200 cycles even with a high mass loading of up to 20 mg *** pairing with a thick Na3V2（PO4）3cathode (20.6 mg cm-2),the as-fabricated full cell exhibited high operating voltage （2.8 V）,excellent rate performance and cycling stability with a high capacity retention of 88.7% after 200 cycles,well highlighting the Na4TDC anode material for SIBs.
