Effects of equal channel angular pressing(ECAP)extrusion on the microstructure,mechanical properties and biodegradability of Mg–2Zn–xGd–0.5Zr(x=0,0.5,1,2 wt%)alloys were studied in this *** analysis,tensile test at ambient temperature,immersion test and electrochemical test in Hank’s solution were carried *** results showed that Gd could further enhance the grain refinement during the ECAP *** Gd addition and ECAP extrusion could improve the mechanical properties of the alloys,and the extrusion played the dominant *** addition of Gd(0.5–1 wt%)could obviously enhance the corrosion resistance of the *** some extent,ECAP extrusion improved the corrosion resistance of the alloys due to the change of second phases distribution and the refinement of *** increase in extrusion pass was detrimental to the improvement of the corrosion resistance as a result of increment of the grain boundaries.

Activating protein-1(AP-1)composed of Jun and Fos family proteins,which are frequently activated by pathogens to induce cellular inflammation and immune *** this study,by using RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)technology,we found that FosB,Fosl2,and JunD expression was co-induced 12 and 20 h in grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella)kidney cell line(CIK cells)after grass carp reovirus(GCRV)***-length cDNA of the three genes were cloned and phylogenetic analysis indicated that the corresponding proteins shared high homology with those in higher *** tissue distribution analysis of the three genes showed they were ubiquitously expressed in various tissues of healthy grass *** infection assay,FosB,Fosl2,and JunD were up-regulated and co-expressed 8 h after GCRV infection in CIK *** interaction and co-expression network analysis revealed that FosB,Fosl2,and JunD showed similar functions and were co-expressed in mammals and *** together,these results indicated that the co-expression of the AP-1 family proteins in grass carp uniformly responds to GCRV *** findings provided insights into the further study of AP-1 transcription factors function during grass carp reovirus infection.

In this study, the distribution of five Alzheimer's disease(AD)-related single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in the Han population was examined in combination with the evaluation of clinical cognition and brain pathological analysis. The associations among SNPs,clinical daily cognitive states, and postmortem neuropathological changes were analyzed in 110 human brains from the Chinese Academy of Medical sciences/Peking Union Medical College(CAMS/PUMC) Human Brain *** ?4(OR = 4.482, P = 0.004), the RS2305421 GG genotype(adjusted OR = 4.397, P = 0.015), and the RS10498633 GT genotype(adjusted OR = 2.375,P = 0.028) were associated with a higher score on the ABC(Ab plaque score, Braak NFT stage, and CERAD neuritic plaque score) dementia scale. These results advance our understanding of the pathogenesis of AD,the relationship between pathological diagnosis and clinical diagnosis, and the SNPs in the Han population for future research.

Insights into the genetic covariation between harvest survival and growth rate in olive flounder(Paralichthys olivaceus)under commercial production environment

This paper presents an approach to train junior Windows software programmers for making software more appealing to students. This approach proposes to separate the software development technologies into three layers, which are the language layer, the application layer and the project layer. For each layer, based on the idea of PBL, this paper gives 20,12 and 1 projects to make the course interesting and easy to understand. Each student must finish a project named as LMS at the end of the course which contains many main technologies of Windows programming. According to the academic results and student surveys, most of the students can finish this course successfully and make a progress in software programming.

In aquaculture,selective breeding for survival till harvest have become an alternative strategy for improving disease resistance and ***,knowledge of genetic parameters of harvest survival,e.g.,heritability and genetic correlations between survival and growth rate traits,is still *** aims of this study were to estimate genetic parameters for harvest survival and growth rate traits under commercial farming conditions in olive flounder(Paralichthys olivaceus).Harvest survival was defined as a binary trait;growth traits were measured as average daily gain(ADG),specific growth rate(SGR),daily growth coefficient(DGC)and body weight(BW).Data from a population of 241 full-sib families(involving 39,904 individuals,four generations)were *** of survival were low but significant,which were 0.15±0.04 and 0.22±0.01 on observed and underlying scale,*** estimates for ADG,SGR and DGC were medium to high,which were 0.33±0.06,0.83±0.07,0.58±0.07,*** the heritability of BW is of low magnitude(0.17±0.08).The genetic correlations between harvest survival and three growth rate traits(i.e.,ADG,SGR and DGC)were very strong(ranging from 0.66 to 0.79),which is an exciting ***,the genetic correlation between harvest survival and BW was much lower(0.17±0.08).These results suggest that selection for harvest survival would consequentially result in concomitant increase of growth rate,and vice *** findings revealed novel insights into the genetic improvement of growth rate and harvest survival through genetic selection in olive flounder.

Gel-Based Chemical Cross-Linking Analysis of 20S Proteasome Subunit-Subunit Interactions in Breast Cancer

The ubiquitin-proteasome system plays a pivotal role in breast tumorigenesis by controlling transcription factors, thus promoting cell cycle growth, and degradation of tumor suppressor proteins. However, breast cancer patients have failed to benefit from proteasome inhibitor treatment partially due to proteasome heterogeneity, which is poorly understood in malignant breast neoplasm. Chemical crosslinking is an increasingly important tool for mapping protein three-dimensional structures and proteinprotein interactions. In the present study, two cross-linkers, bis（sulfosuccinimidyl） suberate（BS3） and its water-insoluble analog disuccinimidyl suberate（DSS）, were used to map the subunit-subunit interactions in 20 S proteasome core particle（CP） from MDA-MB-231 cells. Different types of gel electrophoresis technologies were used. In combination with chemical cross-linking and mass spectrometry, we applied these gel electrophoresis technologies to the study of the noncovalent interactions among 20 S proteasome subunits. Firstly, the CP subunit isoforms were profiled. Subsequently, using native/SDSPAGE, it was observed that 0.5 mmol/L BS^3 was a relatively optimal cross-linking concentration for CP subunit-subunit interaction study. 2-DE analysis of the cross-linked CP revealed that α1 might preinteract with α2, and α3 might pre-interact with α4. Moreover, there were different subtypes of α1α2 and α3α4 due to proteasome heterogeneity. There was no significant difference in cross-linking pattern for CP subunits between BS3 and DSS. Taken together, the gel-based characterization in combination with chemical cross-linking could serve as a tool for the study of subunit interactions within a multi-subunit protein complex. The heterogeneity of 20 S proteasome subunit observed in breast cancer cells may provide some key information for proteasome inhibition strategy.
