BACKGROUND Prealbumin is considered to be a useful indicator of nutritional status. Furthermore, it has been found to be associated with severities and prognosis of a range of diseases. However, limited data on the association of baseline prealbumin level with outcomes of patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) are *** We analyzed 2313 patients admitted for acute STEMI between October 2013 and December 2020. In-hospital outcomes and mortality during the 49 months(interquartile range: 26–73 months) follow-up period were compared between patients with the low prealbumin level(< 170 mg/L) and those with the high prealbumin level(≥ 170 mg/L).RESULTS A total of 114 patients(4.9%) died during hospitalization. After propensity score matching, patients with the low prealbumin level than those with the high prealbumin level experienced higher incidences of heart failure with Killip class Ⅲ(9.9%vs. 4.4%, P = 0.034), cardiovascular death(8.4% vs. 3.4%, P = 0.035) and the composite of major adverse cardiovascular events(19.2%vs. 10.3%, P = 0.012). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified that the low prealbumin level(< 170 mg/L) was an independent predictor of in-hospital major adverse cardiovascular events(odds ratio = 1.918, 95% CI: 1.250–2.942, P = 0.003). The cutoff value of prealbumin level for predicting in-hospital death was 170 mg/L(area under the curve = 0.703, 95% CI: 0.651–0.754, P< 0.001;sensitivity = 0.544, specificity = 0.794). However, after multivariate adjustment of possible confounders, baseline prealbumin level(170 mg/L) was no longer independently associated with 49-month cardiovascular death. Analyzing the Dissemination of News by Model Averaging and Subsampling

The dissemination of news is a vital topic in management science, social science and data science. With the development of technology, the sample sizes and dimensions of digital news data increase remarkably. To alleviate the computational burden in big data, this paper proposes a method to deal with massive and moderate-dimensional data for linear regression models via combing model averaging and subsampling methodologies. The author first samples a subsample from the full data according to some special probabilities and split covariates into several groups to construct candidate models. Then, the author solves each candidate model and calculates the model-averaging weights to combine these estimators based on this subsample. Additionally, the asymptotic optimality in subsampling form is proved and the way to calculate optimal subsampling probabilities is *** author also illustrates the proposed method via simulations, which shows it takes less running time than that of the full data and generates more accurate estimations than uniform subsampling. Finally,the author applies the proposed method to analyze and predict the sharing number of news, and finds the topic, vocabulary and dissemination time are the determinants.

Enhancer of zeste homolog 2(EZH2),an epigenetic regulator that inhibits transcription primarily through trimethylation of Lys-27 in histone 3(H3K27me3),has been reported to play an important role in the regulation of cell cycle,autophagy,and apoptosis,and DNA damage repair.1 EZH2 is highly expressed in a variety of cancers including prostate cancer,breast cancer,and renal clear cell carcinoma,and is associated with adverse prognosis.1 Moreover,it has been reported that EZH2 might increase tumor stemness and metastasis capacity and inhibit antitumor immunity by affecting T cells,NK cells,macrophages,and immune checkpoints.2,3 However,the prognostic value and the mechanism of EZH2 have not been investigated in *** this study,RNA sequencing and whole genome sequencing data based on 48 skull base chordomas as well as immunohistochemistry of paraffin sections were analyzed to elucidate the role of EZH2 in skull base *** found copy number gain mediated high EZH2 expression is associated with tumor stemness,M2 macrophage infiltration,and adverse prognosis in ***,we demonstrated that EZH2 promotes the proliferation,migration,and invasion of chordoma cells in in vitro cell experiments.
