In nature,aflatoxins,especially aflatoxin B1(AFB1),are the common mycotoxins,which cause serious health problems for humans and *** paper aimed to study the effects of AFB1 on flesh flavor and muscle development of grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella)and its *** were 1440 individual fish in total,with 6 treatments and each treatment replicated 3 *** 6 treatments were fed a control diet with different doses of AFB1(0.04,29.48,58.66,85.94,110.43 and 146.92μg/kg diet)for 60 ***1 increased myofiber diameter,as well as decreased myofiber density of grass carp muscle(P<0.05).The contents of free amino acid decreased gradually(P<0.05)as dietary AFB1 increased in the muscle of grass *** levels of reactive oxygen species,malonaldehyde and protein carbonyl(PC)were increased(P<0.05)with the dietary AFB1 *** levels of antioxidant enzyme(glutathione peroxidase,glutathione,glutathione reductase,total antioxidant capacity,anti-superoxide anion,and anti-hydroxyl radical)were decreased(P<0.05)with the dietary AFB1 *** addition,dietary AFB1 decreased the content of collagen,and downregulated the mRNA and protein levels of transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)/Smads signaling pathway in grass carp muscle(P<0.05).The mRNA and protein levels of myogenic regulatory factors were downregulated in grass carp muscle(P<0.05).Furthermore,the activities of matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)were increased(P<0.05),and the protein levels of phosphorylate-38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(p-p38MAPK),phosphorylate-c-Jun N-terminal kinase,urokinase-type plasminogen activator(uPA),MMP-2 and MMP-9 were upregulated(P<0.05),but collagenⅠ,lamininβ1 and fibronectin were downregulated(P<0.05)with the dietary AFB1 increased in the muscle of grass *** on the results of this study,we can draw the following conclusion:dietary AFB1 might damage flesh flavor and inhibit the muscle development through MAPK/uPA/MMP/extrac

This research evaluated the effects of copper(Cu)on intestinal antioxidant capacity and apical junctional complex(AJC)in juvenile grass carp.A total of 1080 healthy juvenile grass carp(11.16±0.01 g)were fed six diets including different dosages of Cu,namely 0,2,4,6,8 mg/kg(Cu citrate[CuCit]as Cu source)and 3 mg/kg(CuSO4·5H2O as Cu source).The trial lasted for 9 *** findings revealed that dietary optimal Cu supplementation(2.2 to 4.1 mg/kg)promoted intestinal growth,including intestinal length,intestinal length index,intestinal weight,and intestinal somatic index(P 0.05).On the other hand,optimal Cu increased intestinal tight junction(TJ)proteins(except for claudin 15b)and adherens junction(AJ)proteins(E-cadherin,α-catenin,β-catenin,nectin and afadin)mRNA levels(P<0.05),which could be connected to the signaling pathway formed by the Ras homolog gene family,member A(RhoA),Rho-associated kinase(ROCK),and myosin light chain kinase(MLCK).Finally,based on serum indicator D-lactate and intestinal oxidative damage index(ROS),Cu requirement(CuCit as Cu source)for juvenile grass carp from initial weight to final weight(from 11 to 173 g)was determined to be 4.14 and 4.12 mg/kg diet,*** work may provide a theoretical foundation for identifying putative Cu regulation pathways on fish intestinal health.

Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli(APEC)belonging to extraintestinal pathogenic ***(ExPEC)can cause severe infections in extraintestinal tissues in birds and humans,such as the lungs and ***(microcin production regulation,locus A,herein renamed AbsR,a blood survival regulator),a member of the MarR(multiple antibiotic resistance regulator)transcriptional regulator family,governs the expression of capsule biosynthetic genes in human ExPEC and represents a promising druggable target for ***,a deep understanding of the AbsR regulatory mechanism as well as its regulon is *** this study,we present a systems-level analysis of the APEC AbsR regulon using ChIP-Seq(chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing)and RNA-Seq(RNA sequencing)*** found that AbsR directly regulates 99 genes and indirectly regulates 667 ***,we showed that:1)AbsR contributes to antiphagocytotic effects by macrophages and virulence in a mouse model for systemic infection by directly activating the capsular gene cluster;2)AbsR positively impacts biofilm formation via direct regulation of the T2SS(type II secretion system)but plays a marginal role in virulence;and 3)AbsR directly upregulates the acid tolerance signaling system EvgAS to withstand acid stress but is dispensable in ExPEC ***,our data indicate that the role of AbsR in virulence gene regulation is relatively conserved in ExPEC ***,this study provides a comprehensive analysis of the AbsR regulon and regulatory mechanism,and our data suggest that AbsR likely influences virulence primarily through the control of capsule ***,we found that AbsR severely represses the expression of the type I-F CRISPR(clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats)-Cas(CRISPR associated)systems,which could have implications in CRISPR biology and application.

This study was conducted to explore the regulatory mechanism of leucine (Leu) on lipid metabolism of finishing ***-four Duroc×Landrace×Large cross pigs with an average body weight of68.33±0.97 kg were randomly allocated into 3 treatment groups with 8 replicates per group (1 pig per replicate).The dietary treatments were as follows:control group (CON),0.25%Leu group and 0.50%Leu *** experimental period was 42 *** results showed as follows.(1) Compared with the CON,0.25%and 0.50%Leu increased (P<0.01) the average daily gain (ADG),while the average backfat thickness (ABT) and the ratio of feed intake to body weight gain (F:G ratio) were decreased (P<0.05).(2)In the 0.25%Leu group,the relative mRNA expression levels of sterol regulatory element binding protein-1c (SREBP1c),recombinant fatty acid transport protein 1 (FATP1),chemerin and peroxisome proliferatoractivated receptor γ (PPARγ) were decreased but the level of fatty acid binding protein 4 (FABP4) and fatty acid translocase (FAT/CD36) were increased in backfat *** the 0.25%Leu group,the protein levels of p-Rictor,p-Raptor,p-eIF4E-binding protein 1 (p-4EBP1),p-silent mating type information regulator 2homolog 1 (p-SIRT1) and acetylation ribosome s6 protein kinase 1 (Ac—S6K1) were increased (P<0.05).(3) Compared to the CON,the diversity of gut microbiota in the 0.25%Leu group was *** component analysis showed that the relative abundance of Bacteroidetes,Lactobacillus and Desulfovibrio was higher in the 0.25%Leu group than the CON,but the relative abundance of Firmicutes,Treponema and Shigella was lower than in the CON (P<0.05).(4) Four different metabolites were screened out from the serum of finishing pigs including allolithocholic acid (alloLCA),isolithocholic acid (isoLCA),ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) and hyodeoxycholic acid (HDCA),which correlate to various degrees with the above *** conclusion,Leu could promote adipose tissue lipolysis of finishing pigs throug

Architecture and exploration target areas of the Senegal Basin,West Africa

The recent discovery of large oil and gas fields in the deep-water of the Senegal Basin has drawn global *** this,several exploration wells in this area fail,which can be primarily contributed to a lack of understanding of the basin's structures and hydrocarbon accumulation *** study examines these characteristics utilizing gravity,seismic and drilling data,and finally makes a comparison with the Cote d’Ivoire Basin,a typical transform margin basin in the South *** results suggest that the Senegal Basin,influenced by multiple transform faults and a weak Paleozoic basement,experienced three evolutionary stages:rifting,transitional,and *** stage contributed to the development of distinct depositional sequences-syn-rift sequences,sag sequences,and continental margin sequences,*** Triassic-Early Jurassic rifting stage predominantly formed continental deposits,like fluvial,lacustrine,and deltaic deposits,in the syn-rift *** Middle-Late Jurassic transitional stage,influenced by transform faults,witnessed the formation of marginal ridges or submarine uplift *** zones,in conjunction with landward high terrains,formed a restricted environment promoting the development of source rocks in the sag *** the drifting stage,three types of reservoirs,namely platform carbonate rocks,deltas,and slope-floor fans were ***,large-scale hydrocarbon reservoirs have been found in the deltas and the slope-floor fans both in the Senegal Basin and the Cote d’Ivoire *** Upper Jurassic-Aptian platforms exhibit thick carbonate rocks and organic reefs on their edges,suggesting substantial potential for hydrocarbon exploration in the Senegal Basin.

Displacement characteristics of CO_(2)flooding in extra-high water-cut reservoirs

Carbon dioxide(CO_(2))flooding is a widely applied recovery method during the tertiary recovery of oil and gas.A high water saturation condition in reservoirs could induce a‘water shielding’phenomenon after the injection of CO_(2).This would prevent contact between the injected gas and the residual oil,restricting the development of the miscible zone.A micro-visual experiment of dead-end models,used to observe the effect of a film of water on the miscibility process,indicates that CO_(2)can penetrate the water film and come into contact with the residual oil,although the mixing is significantly ***,the dissolution loss of CO_(2)at high water-cut conditions is not *** oil-water partition coefficient,defined as the ratio of CO_(2)solubility in an oil-brine/two-phase system,keeps constant for specific reservoir conditions and changes little with an injection *** NMR device shows that when CO_(2)flooding follows water flooding,the residual oil decreasesdnot only in medium and large pores but also in small and micro *** levels of higher water saturation,CO_(2)displacement is characterized initially by a low oil production rate and high *** the CO_(2)breakthrough,the water-cut decreases sharply and the oil production rate increases *** response time of CO_(2)flooding at high watercut reservoirs is typically delayed and *** results were confirmed in a pilot test for CO_(2)flooding at the P1-1 well group of the Pucheng *** from this pilot study also suggest that a larger injection gas pore volume available for CO_(2)injection is required to offset the dissolution loss in high water saturation conditions.

Deep geothermal resources in the Fujian-Guangdong-Hainan region,China,offer significant potential for sustainable *** diverse igneous rock formations along the southeast coast present intricate geological challenges that impede exploration and evaluation *** this study,we address critical concerns related to the Fujian-Guangdong-Hainan region's deep geothermal resources,encompassing heat source composition,formation conditions,strategic favorable areas,and exploration *** methods involve the analysis of regional geothermal reservoirs and cap *** findings include:the primary heat sources in the Fujian-Guangdong-Hainan region consist of the radioactive heat generation from granites in the crust,heat conduction in the mantle,and,in specific areas like Yangjiang and Shantou,melts within the middle and lower crust;the deep,high-temperature geothermal resources in the region predominantly reside in basins'depressed *** areas are characterized by the confluence of triple heat sources:heat from the Earth's crust,mantle,and other supplementary sources;our analysis led to the identification of three strategic areas favorable for deep geothermal resources in the Fujian-Guangdong-Hainan *** are the Beibu Gulf Basin's continental area,the Yuezhong Depression,and the Fuzhou-Zhangzhou area.
