Cyclodextrin-modified CZE was applied to the chiral separation of two basic drugs, i.e., esmolol and terazosin. Selector screening and concentration optimization experiments were performed. Resolution 3.1 for esmolol, 1.2 for terazosin were achieved when using 60 mmol/L gamma-CD and 60 mmoL/L DM-P-CD, respectively, in 50 mmol/L pH 2.5 sodium phosphate buffer.

Sulfobutylether－β－cyclodextrin（SBE－β－CD）was used as a chiral selector tor separatingten chlral drugs with resolution 1．2 by capillary zone electrophoresls（CZE）， The backgroundelectrolylc solution comprised of 120 mmol／L Britton－Robinson buffer（BRB） containing1 ～10mmol／L SBE－β－CD with the pH value adjusted from 5．0－6．8． Five of the drugs were better resolvedthan those previously reported with neutral CDs．

β-Cyclodextrin phosphate (β-CD-phosphate) was used as a selector for separating chiral drugs by capillary electrophoresis (CE). A solution comprising of 120 mmol/L Britton Robinson buffer (BRB) containing 10 mmol/L 0-CD phosphate with the pH adjusted to 7.0 was used as the background electrolyte (BGE), and a small amount of analyte was injected (600v/1s). Triethylamine, diethylamine, triethanolamine, diethanolamine, Tris added as modifier were compared. Isoprenaline, methoxamine, oxprenolol, practolol were successfully resolved.

Background: The forest musk deer, a rare fauna species found in China, is famous for its musk secretion which is used in selected Traditional Chinese medicines. However, over-hunting has led to musk deer becoming an endangered species, and their survival is also greatly challenged by various high incidence and high mortality respiratory and intestinal diseases such as septic pneumonia and enteritis. Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that Akkermannia muciniphila (AKK) is a promising probiotic, and we wondered whether AKK could be used as a food additive in animal breeding programmes to help prevent intestinal diseases. Methods: We isolated one AKK strain from musk deer feces (AKK-D) using an improved enrichment medium combined with real-time PCR. After confirmation by 16S rRNA gene sequencing, a series of in vitro tests was conducted to evaluate the probiotic effects of AKK-D by assessing its reproductive capability, simulated gastrointestinal fluid tolerance, acid and bile salt resistance, self-aggregation ability, hydrophobicity, antibiotic sensitivity, hemolysis, harmful metabolite production, biofilm formation ability, and bacterial adhesion to gastrointestinal mucosa. Results: The AKK-D strain has a probiotic function similar to that of the standard strain in humans (AKK-H). An in vivo study found that AKK-D significantly ameliorated symptoms in the enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC)-induced murine diarrhea model. AKK-D improved organ damage, inhibited inflammatory responses, and improved intestinal barrier permeability. Additionally, AKK-D promoted the reconstitution and maintenance of the homeostasis of gut microflora, as indicated by the fact that AKK-D-treated mice showed a decrease in Bacteroidetes and an increase in the proportion of other beneficial bacteria like Muribaculaceae, Muribaculum, and unclassified f_Lachnospiaceae compared with the diarrhea model mice. Dengue fever （DF） is the most significant emerging arbovirus disease, which is caused by four distinct serotypes of Dengue viruses （DENY-1 to DENV-4）. Serotype-specific immunity does not confer cross-protection against secondary infec- tions from heterologous serotypes, which leads to dengue haemorrhagic fever （DHF） and dengue shock syndrome （DSS） as a result of antibody-dependent enhancement （ADE） of infection that is mediated by non-neutralizing, cross-reac- tive antibodies （Kliks et al., 1989）. The intense efforts to develop a safe and efficient DENV vaccine have involved using a variety of traditional biological technologies in the past 50 years （Durbin et al., 2005; McArthur et al., 2008）, yet no commercial DENV vaccine has been generated until now.

This study assesses the effectiveness of using arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (M) and compost applied alone or in combination ( vs . conventional chemical fertilizer application (NPK)) on tomato resistance to vascular wilt caused by Verticillium dahliae . In this study, ten treatments were applied: (1) control (2) M: Rhizophagus irregularis (3) C: Compost (4) MC: The combination of M and compost (5) NPK: conventional chemical fertilizer (6) V: plants infected with V. dahliae (7) MV: plants infected with a conidial suspension of V. dahliae and M, (8) CV: The combination of compost and V. dahliae , (9) MCV: The combination of M, compost and V. dahliae , (10) VNPK: V. dahliae and NPK. The combination of biostimulants reduced disease severity and incidence, as well as the leaf alteration index compared to control plants (V). However, the area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC) and fi nal mean severity (FMS) were reduced by 37% and 46% respectively by the application of the combination of M, compost and V. dahliae (MCV) compared to the V control. Additionally, the MCV treatment showed the greatest increment in protein content (152.6%), in TSS content (54.6%), and CV increased proline content by 46.6%. Furthermore, MCV also protected the photosynthetic apparatus from pathogeninduced oxidative stress and reduced the accumulation of malondialdehyde (MDA) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2 ) by increasing the activity of antioxidant enzymes, such as polyphenol oxidase (PPO) (215.03%), ascorbate peroxidase (APX) (74.73%) and peroxidase activity (POX) (101.91%). MC also enhanced superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities by 166.19% compared to their controls (V). M alone or in combination with compost, remains a favourable interaction for suppressing plant diseases and improving antioxidant defense systems.

Quinoa ( Chenopodium quinoa ) has recently gained popularity as a pseudo-cereal cultivated in various countries due to the nutritional and antioxidant bene fi ts of its seeds, and its capacity to persist in water-stressed environments. Our study aimed to assess the effects of native arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and local organic amendments on the metabolic responses and antioxidant activity of quinoa seeds under water-stressed conditions. To this end, quinoa plants were grown in soils inoculated with an indigenous mycorrhizal consortium AMF and amended with two types of compost from horse manure (HM) and green waste (GW) under two water regimes: well-watered (WW) 75% and 25% fi eld capacity (FC). The primary metabolite contents (sugars and total protein) of quinoa seeds were measured. Additionally, the study involved identifying and quantifying secondary metabolites, particularly phenolic compounds (quercetin, vanillic acid, rutin, coumaric acid, kaempferol, and tetraterpenoids carotenoids) in quinoa seeds were determined using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The individual application of AMF and HM increased the total protein content in quinoa seeds by 8% and 6%, respectively, in contrast to the water-stressed control plants (WS). Conversely, the combined application of AMF, GW, and HM led to a 21% increase in sugar content compared to the control seeds under water-stressed conditions. Additionally, HPLC analysis identi fi ed fi ve phenolic compounds, namely quercetin, kaempferol, vanillic acid, coumaric acid, and rutin. Under WS conditions, the application of biostimulants, whether used individually or in combination, brought about a rise in the identi fi ed phenolic compounds, except rutin, compared to controls. Consequently, these fi ndings suggest that using AMF, either alone or in combination with HM and/or GW, can enhance the total protein content of quinoa seeds, help sustain higher levels of both primary and secondary metabolites under

The intricate tumor microenvironment presents formidable obstacles to the efficacy of adoptive T cell therapy in the management of solid tumors by limiting the infiltration and inducing exhaustion of the transferred T cells. Here, we developed a bacterial-based adjuvant approach that augments the efficacy of adoptive T-cell therapy for solid tumor treatment. Our study reveals that intratumor injection of E. coli MG1655 normalizes tumor vasculatures and reprograms tumor-associated macrophages into M1 phenotype that produce abundant CCL5, together facilitating tumor infiltration of adoptively transferred T cells. The depletion of tumor-associated macrophages or CCL5 neutralization in vivo leads to the significantly decreased solid tumor infiltration of adoptive T cells in the presence of bacteriotherapy. This combinatorial therapy, consisting of E. coli adjuvant and adoptive T-cell therapy, effectively eradicates early-stage melanoma and inhibits the progression of pancreatic tumors. Notably, this dual strategy also strengthened the distal tumor control capabilities of adoptive T-cell therapy through the induction of in situ tumor vaccination. This dual therapeutic approach involving bacterial therapy targeting the interior of solid tumors and adoptive T-cell therapy attacking the tumor periphery exhibits potent therapeutic efficacy in achieving the eradication of advanced-stage tumors, including melanoma and hepatocellular carcinoma, by converging attacks from both inside and outside the tumor tissues.
