Geochemistry and Zircon U–Pb age of the Yao＇an pseudoleucite porphyry,Yunnan Province,China

The Yao'an Pb–Ag deposit, located in the Chuxiong Basin, western Yangtze Block, is an important component of the Jinshajiang–Ailaoshan alkaline porphyry–related polymetallic intrusive belt. This complex suite of rock bodies includes a vein of pseudoleucite porphyry within deposits of syenite porphyry and *** pseudoleucite is characterized by a variable greyish,greyish-white, and greyish-green porphyritic texture. Phenocrysts are mainly pseudoleucite with small amounts of alkali feldspar and biotite. In an intense event, leucite phenocrysts altered to orthoclase, kaolinite, and *** the pseudoleucite porphyry and the syenite porphyry samples were typical alkali-rich, K-rich, al-rich rocks with high LaN/YbNratios; enriched in light rare earth elements and large-ion lithophile elements, and depleted in high field strength elements; and with strongly negative Ta, Nb, and Ti(TNT) anomalies and slightly negative Eu anomalies—all characteristics of subduction-zone mantle-derived *** obtained a LA-ICP-MS zircon U–Pb age of 34.1 ± 0.3 Ma(MSWD = 2.4), which is younger than the established age of the Indian and Eurasian Plate *** magma derived from a Type-II enriched mantle formed in a post-collisional plate tectonic setting. The geochemical characteristics of the Yao'an pseudoleucite porphyry are powerful evidence that the porphyry'sdevelopment was closely linked to the Jinshajiang–Ailaoshan fault and to the Indian-Eurasian collision.

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) are a class of porous inorganic-organic hybrid materials, which are constructed from diverse inorganic building units and multi-functional organic ligands. Highly ordered pore structures and tailored functionalization have made MOF materials potential for applications in many fields. Among various MOF materials, 3p-block metal(Al, Ga, and In)-based MOFs exhibit higher chemical stability than divalent transition metal-based MOFs due to their higher valence. In this review, Al-MOFs and In-MOFs were mainly discussed from the perspective of categories of inorganic building blocks, coordination types, and numbers of organic ligands. This review will give intuitive guidance to the design and synthesis of novel 3p-block metal-based MOFs with potential applications.

Simulation of Bleeding Airways in Cadavers: New Models for Experiential Learning

Background: healthcare education models have recently shifted from the traditional reliance on the apprenticeship model, where trainees learn on real patients in actual clinical settings, to one based on simulation models. Education in airway management is a fundamental component of anesthetic training programs, and airway modification to simulate difficult airways increases the fidelity of airway management training. Objective: The study goal was to determine the feasibility of simulating difficult airways such as mandibular fracture and post-tonsillectomy bleed in cadaver models by surgical modification for the use in enhanced experiential learning of difficult airway management. Methods: Two cadaver heads were modified surgically to simulate a mandibular fracture and post-tonsillectomy bleed. Workshop facilitators conducted directed one-to-one learning and provided feedback to participants. A paper-based feedback was obtained from the participants on their confidence level, and the realism, attractiveness, beneficial levels, and difficulty levels of the simulation models used. Results: The modified cadavers were reliable in simulating difficult airways. The majority of participants (83.3% for fractured mandible and 87.1% for post-tonsillectomy bleed) reported an increase in confidence level for management of the difficult airway after the experience with the modified cadavers, and found both models realistic, attractive, and beneficial for difficult airway training. Conclusions: Surgical modifications of cadavers to simulate difficult airways such as fractured mandible and post-tonsillectomy bleed may be incorporated into advanced airway management courses to enhance experiential learning.

Tumor-Associated Autoantibodies: Re-Optimization of EarlyCDT-Lung Diagnostic Performance and Its Application to Indeterminate Pulmonary Nodules

Background: Low-dose computed tomography (CT) screening reduces lung cancer mortality but costs are prohibitive for most healthcare budgets due to high false positive rates. An adjunctive test able to distinguish malignant from benign pulmonary nodules would be hugely beneficial. EarlyCDT-Lung measures serum autoantibodies to tumor-associated antigens and has found clinical acceptance to aid early detection of lung cancer for high risk patients. However performance was optimized for screening. The construction of a receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve would enable optimization of performance for alternative settings, including nodule malignancy. Methods: A Monte-Carlo search method was used to construct a ROC curve using a case-control cohort, enabling high and low specificity versions of EarlyCDT-Lung to be determined. These were used for a theoretical evaluation of a nodule cohort, and positive predictive value (PPV) was calculated under the assumption of independence of risk source. Patients or their nodules are typically classified into three risk groups: low (0% - 10%), intermediate (10% - 65%) and high (>65%) risk of malignancy. The predicted shift in risk group by application of the high and low specificity versions, along with the current commercial EarlyCDT-Lung, was then estimated. Results: The ROC curve, with an area under the curve of 0.743, was constructed. The high specificity (98%), low specificity (49%) and current commercial (91% specificity) versions of EarlyCDT-Lung re-classified 27%, 23% and 26% of intermediate nodules, respectively, to either a higher (10%, 8% and 10%) or lower (17%, 15% and 16%) risk group. Conclusion: A ROC curve was constructed to allow performance prediction of EarlyCDT-Lung at different specificities in the indeterminate nodule setting. This enabled risk re-classification of intermediate risk nodules, and could therefore facilitate alternative more appropriate intervention. We have shown how a multivariate biomarke

One of the main obstacles limiting the performance of protonic ceramic fuel cells(PCFCs) is the sluggish kinetics of the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) at reduced ***,the surface manipulation of a triple-conducting cathode BaCe_(0.5)Pr_(0.3)Y_(0.2)O_(3-δ)(BCPY) by an efficient catalyst coating PrNi_(0.5)Co_(0.5)O_(3-δ)(PNC) to enhance the ORR activity and CO_(2) tolerance is *** developed PNC-coated BCPY cathode achieves the polarization resistance of 0.25 and 1.00 Ω cm^(2) at 600 and 500 ℃,respectively,approximately 1/5 of that for the pristine BCPY cathode(0.99 and 4.79 Ω cm^(2)),while maintaining an excellent CO_(2) *** single cell on a BaZr_(0.8)Yb_(0.2)O_(3-δ) electrolyte also exhibits a high peak power density of 0.79 W cm^(-2)at 700 ℃ and a stable operation for 200 h at 600 ℃.Such high ORR activity is mainly attributed to the synergistic effect of BCPY support and PNC ***,BCPY provides a tripleconducting path(mainly protons),and PNC nanoparticles facilitates surface oxygen exchange and steam adsorption/desorption processes due to the enriched surface oxygen *** study will provide a new design strategy for developing high-performance PCFCs cathode.

An algorithm based on the data-adaptive filtering characteristics of singular spectrum analysis (SSA) is proposed to denoise chaotic data. Firstly, the empirical orthogonal functions (EOFs) and principal components (PCs) of the signal were calculated, reconstruct the signal using the EOFs and PCs, and choose the optimal reconstructing order based on sigular spectrum to obtain the denoised signal. The noise of the signal can influence the calculating precision of maximal Liapunov exponents. The proposed denoising algorithm was applied to the maximal Liapunov exponents calculations of two chaotic system, Henon map and Logistic map. Some numerical results show that this denoising algorithm could improve the calculating precision of maximal Liapunov exponent.
