Effect of ceramic work rolls on surface roughness of rolled SUS304 ultra-thin strips

Surface morphology and roughness are important parameters of surface quality of cold-rolled ultra-thin strip *** order to study the effect of Si_(3)N_(4) ceramic work rolls on the surface roughness of SUS304 ultra-thin strip,ABAQUS finite element model calculation,3d laser profilometry,and other methods were adopted based on the physical characteristics of Si_(3)N_(4) ceramic roll and 9Cr2MoV steel roll,like anti-flattening performance and oil *** surface morphology and roughness of SUS304 ultra-thin strip rolled by different material work rolls under oil lubrication conditions were *** results showed that under the rolling force of 10 kN,the maximum flattening amount of Si_(3)N_(4) ceramic roll was reduced by 35.14%compared to that of 9Cr2MoV steel *** reduction rate of SUS304 ultra-thin strip rolled by ceramic roll was 34.19%,while that rolled by steel roll was only 22%;Si_(3)N_(4) ceramic roll can further increase the number of alternating convex peaks and concave valleys in the rolled thin strip,reduce the profile steepness,reduce surface roughness,and enhance the planarization effect of surface micro-convex bodies,with improving surface quality and surface ***,the mechanism of Si_(3)N_(4) ceramic roll significantly improving the surface roughness of rolled SUS304 ultra-thin strip was proposed.

A thermodynamic model for predicting the equilibrium oxygens of 304 stainless steel was developed based on the theory of slag-steel equilibrium,the law of mass conservation,and the ion and molecule coexistence *** the developed model,the Fe-Cr-Mn-Si-Al-S-O-melts reaction system and CaO-MgO-CaF_(2)-FeO-MnO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)-Cr2O_(3)slags were *** oxygen contents calculated by the model are in good agreement with experimental results and reference *** equilibrium oxygen contents in 304 stainless steel mainly decrease with increasing binary basicity(w(CaO)/w(SiO_(2)),where w(i)is the mass percentage of component i)and decreasing *** binary basicity at 2.0 while maintaining temperatures lower than 1823 K will keep the oxygen contents in the 304 stainless steel lower than 15×10^(-6).The equilibrium oxygen contents may also be decreased with increasing content of MgO in slags,which is more significant at lower binary ***,a small amount of FeO,MnO,and Al_(2)O_(3)(about 0-2.5 wt.%)in slags has little effect on equilibrium oxygen ***,it is found that the[C]-[O]reaction may occur during refining process but will not significantly affect the equilibrium oxygen contents.

Application status and prospect of ionic liquids in oilfield chemistry

The ionic liquid, as a new treatment agent, has been increasingly applied in oil fields due to its strong temperature resistance, good solubility and high surface activity. In this paper, we systematically discuss the action mechanism and application effect of ionic liquids in oilfield chemistry. Ionic liquids can inhibit shale hydration expansion and reduce fluid loss through adsorption and intercalation, inhibit the formation of natural gas hydrate through imidazole five-membered ring structure as a space barrier, reduce viscosity of heavy oil by breaking chemical bonds of heavy oil macromolecules and charge transfer,improve oil displacement efficiency by forming ions pairs with carboxyl groups in crude oil, demulsify by forming channels between dispersed water droplets, acidify the formation by reacting with water to produce acid, interacts with organic material through weak hydrogen bonds and extracts it from oilfield wastewater, desulphurize by inserting sulfide molecules into the “stack” structure and form liquid inclusion complex, inhibit corrosion by forming a protective film on the metal surface. Based on the above aspects, the development direction of ionic liquids is proposed. The application of ionic liquids in oilfield chemistry is still in its infancy. It is urgent to fully explore the application performance of ionic liquids in oilfield chemistry, which also provides theoretical and technical supports for efficient reservoir development.

distribution of oxide inclusions in H13 castings under super-gravity field with multi-stage rotation speeds

The 42 kg industrial H13 castings were prepared by different super-gravity fields with multi-rotation speeds,and the distribution of oxide inclusions in the castings was *** addition,the inward movement reynolds number and inward movement time of oxide inclusions as well as the solidification time of molten steel at different positions in the castings were calculated to clarify the removal mechanism of oxide inclusions in super-gravity *** results show that the large size(i.e.,greater than 10μm)oxide inclusions are mainly concentrated in the inner and outer parts of the super-gravity castings with constant rotation speed(500 r min^(-1))and five-stage rotation speeds(500,600,750,850,and 950 r min^(-1)),respectively,while there are no large oxide inclusions in the super-gravity castings with three-stage rotation speeds(500,600,and 750 r min^(-1)).Although an increase in the particle size of inclusion and the rotation speed in super-gravity field is conducive to the increase in the inward movement reynolds number of oxide inclusions and reduction in the inward movement time of oxide inclusions,it will reduce the local solidification time of molten *** the range of the rotation speed studied,the super-gravity field with three-stage rotation speeds has the best effect on the removal of inclusions in H13 molten steel.

roughness characterization and shearing dislocation failure for rock-backfill interface

Shearing dislocation is a common failure type for rock–backfill interfaces because of backfill sedimentation and rock strata movement in backfill mining *** paper designed a test method for rock–backfill shearing *** digital image techno-logy and three-dimensional(3d)laser morphology scanning techniques,a set of 3d models with rough joint surfaces was ***,the mechanical behavior of rock–backfill shearing dislocation was investigated using a direct shear *** effects of interface roughness on the shear–displacement curve and failure characteristics of rock–backfill specimens were *** 3d fractal dimen-sion,profile line joint roughness coefficient(JrC),profile line two-dimensional fractal dimension,and the surface curvature of the frac-tures were *** correlation characterization of surface roughness was then analyzed,and the shear strength could be measured and calculated using *** results showed the following:there were three failure threshold value points in rock–backfill shearing dis-location:30%–50%displacement before the peak,70%–90%displacement before the peak,and 100%displacement before the peak to post-peak,which could be a sign for rock–backfill shearing dislocation *** surface JrC could be used to judge the rock–backfill shearing dislocation failure,including post-peak sliding,uniform variations,and gradient change,corresponding to rock–backfill disloca-tion failure on the field *** research reveals the damage mechanism for rock–backfill complexes based on the free joint surface,fills the gap of existing shearing theoretical systems for isomerism complexes,and provides a theoretical basis for the prevention and control of possible disasters in backfill mining.

Excellent weldability substantially contributes to the intrinsic quality of steels,while appropriate chemical composition plays a primary role in the essential weldability of *** poor weldability of ferritic stainless steels could be improved through modification with minor alloy elements while minimally increasing the ***,studying the effect of minor alloy elements on the weldability of steels is of considerable *** this study,several steels of middle-chromium hyperpure ferritic stainless 00Cr21Ti with different Ni content(0.3%,0.5%,0.8%,and 1.0%)were developed,and their weldabilities of butt joint samples welded using the metal inert gas welding process,including the influence of welded joints on the microstructure,tensile performance,corrosion resistance,and fatigue property,were *** show that the steels with w(Ni)≥0.8%exhibit excellent mechanical properties compared with those with low-Ni content steels,further,their impact toughness at normal atmospheric temperature meets the industrial application standard and the fatigue property is similar to that of 304 austenitic stainless ***,results show that the corrosion resistance of all the samples is almost at the same *** results acquired in this study are supposed to be useful for the optimization of the chemical composition of stainless steels aiming to improve weldability.

Flotation separation of scheelite from calcite using luteolin as a novel depressant

This paper proposes luteolin(LUT)as a novel depressant for the flotation-based separation of scheelite and calcite in a sodium oleate(NaOL)*** suitability of LUT as a calcite depressant is confirmed through micro-flotation *** pH=9,with LUT concentration of 50 mg·L^(-1) and NaOL concentration of 50 mg·L^(-1),scheelite recovery reaches 80.3%.Calcite,on the other hand,exhibits a recovery rate of 17.6%,indicating a significant difference in floatability between the two ***,the surface modifica-tions of scheelite and calcite following LUT treatment are characterized using adsorption capacity testing,Zeta potential analysis,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-Ir),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and atomic force microscopy(AFM).The study in-vestigates the selective depressant mechanism of LUT on *** capacity testing and Zeta potential analysis demonstrate sub-stantial absorption of LUT on the surface of calcite,impeding the further adsorption of sodium oleate,while its impact on scheelite is ***-Ir and XPS analyses reveal the selective adsorption of LUT onto the surface of calcite,forming strong chemisorption bonds between the hydroxyl group and calcium ions *** directly illustrates the distinct adsorption densities of LUT on the two miner-al ***,LUT can effectively serve as a depressant for calcite,enabling the successful separation of scheelite and calcite.

Micromechanical modeling of longitudinal tensile behavior and failure mechanism of unidirectional carbon fiber/aluminum composites involving fiber strength dispersion

This paper examines the longitudinal tensile behavior and failure mechanism of a new unidirectional carbon fiber reinforced aluminum composite through experiments and simulations. A Weibull distribution model was established to describe the fiber strength dispersion based on single-fiber tensile tests for carbon fibers extracted from the composite. The constitutive models for the matrix and interface were established based on the uniaxial tensile and single-fiber pushout tests, respectively. Then, a 3d micromechanical numerical model, innovatively considering the fiber strength dispersion by use of the weakest link and Weibull distribution theories, was established to simulate the progressive failure behavior of the composite under longitudinal tension. due to the dispersion of fiber strength, the weakest link of the fiber first fractures, and stress concentration occurs in the surrounding fibers, interfaces, and matrix. The maximum stress concentration factor for neighboring fibers varies nonlinearly with the distance from the fractured fiber. Both isolated and clustered fractured fibers are present during the progressive failure process of the composite. The expansion of fractured fiber clusters intensifies stress concentration and material degradation which in turn enlarges the fractured fiber clusters, and their mutual action leads to the final collapse of the composite.
