Metal-organic frameworks with dinuclear metal centers for synergistically boosting CO2 photoreduction

Dinuclear metal synergistic catalysis （DMSC） has been proved powerful in boosting CO2reduction,while this has not been achieved in heterogeneous catalysts with long-range order *** this study,we,by introduction of metal catalytic centers into an indium-based metal-organic framework （MOF）,obtained a series of isostructural In-MOFs,including three MOFs with mononuclear metal catalytic center （M-In）,three MOFs with dinuclear homometallic catalytic centers （MM-In）,and three MOFs with dinuclear heterometallic catalytic centers (MM’-In,M/M’=Co（II）,Ni（II）,Zn（II）).It was found that all these MOFs can serve as catalysts for photochemical CO2reduction to *** with M-In,the catalytic activities of MM-In were obviously enhanced,and that of MM’-In was further significantly *** example,the CO yield of Co Zn-In reaches a record value of 12,700μmol g-1h-1,which is 4.0,8.1,9.4,and 18.6-fold higher than that of Co Co-In,Zn Zn-In,Co-In,and Zn-In,***,the catalytic activities of Co Ni-In and Ni Zn-In also show different fold increase than those of corresponding dinuclear homometallic and mononuclear metallic *** results of control experiments and theoretical calculation reveal that the higher catalytic activities of MM-In over M-In can be ascribed to the DMSC effect,and the higher catalytic activity of MM’-In over MM-In can be ascribed to the strengthened DMSC *** work reveals the relationship between DMSC effect and bimetal centers in CO2reduction,which provides new insights into the DMSC and paves a new way to design highly active catalysts for photochemical CO2reduction.

Martensitic transformation and magnetic properties of Ti-doped NiCoMnSn shape memory alloy

Martensitic transformation, microstructure, and magnetic properties of Ti-doped Ni43-xTixCo7Mn43Sn7（at%）（x = 0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 4.0） shape memory alloys were investigated. The results show that transformation temperatures of Ni43Co7Mn43Sn7 can be efficiently adjusted by the substitution of Ti for Ni. For example, the martensitic transformation starting temperature（Ms） is reduced by about 278 K with 4 at% addition of Ti. Room temperature microstructure evolves from single tetragonal martensite for the Ti-free alloy to dual phases（tetragonal martensite ＋ second phase） with 0.5 at%, 1.0 at%, and2.0 at% addition of Ti to dual phases（cubic austenite ＋ second phase） for 4.0 at% Ti-doped alloy. The mechanical properties can be obviously improved by adding an appropriate amount of Ti. A noteworthy point is that magnetic-field-induced reverse transformation is observed in Ni39Ti4Co7Mn43Sn7 alloy.

This study was aimed to prepare landslide susceptibility maps for the Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand,India,using advanced ensemble models that combined Radial Basis Function Networks(RBFN)with three ensemble learning techniques:DAGGING(DG),MULTIBOOST(MB),and ADABOOST(AB).This combination resulted in three distinct ensemble models:DG-RBFN,MB-RBFN,and ***,a traditional weighted method,Information Value(IV),and a benchmark machine learning(ML)model,Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network(MLP),were employed for comparison and *** models were developed using ten landslide conditioning factors,which included slope,aspect,elevation,curvature,land cover,geomorphology,overburden depth,lithology,distance to rivers and distance to *** factors were instrumental in predicting the output variable,which was the probability of landslide *** analysis of the models’performance indicated that the DG-RBFN model,with an Area Under ROC Curve(AUC)of 0.931,outperformed the other *** AB-RBFN model achieved an AUC of 0.929,the MB-RBFN model had an AUC of 0.913,and the MLP model recorded an AUC of *** results suggest that the advanced ensemble ML model DG-RBFN was more accurate than traditional statistical model,single MLP model,and other ensemble models in preparing trustworthy landslide susceptibility maps,thereby enhancing land use planning and decision-making.

A New 2D Layered Barium Coordination Polymer [Ba(3-NPA)]_n: Synthesis, Crystal Structure, Thermal Stability and Luminescent Properties

A new two-dimensional （2D） barium（AA） coordination polymer [Ba（3-NPA）]n （1） has been obtained by the hydro/solvothermal reaction of the corresponding metal salt with 3-nitrophthalic acid （3-NPAH2）. Compound 1 was characterized by infrared spectrum, elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction （PXRD） and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Compound 1 crystallizes in triclinic, space group Pī with a = 4.9611（3）, b = 7.2599（4）, c = 12.9463（8） A, α = 89.0892（2）, β = 80.546（2）, γ = 73.211（2）°, V = 440.1（5） A3, Z = 2, C8H3BaNO6, Mr = 346.45, Dc = 2.614 g·cm^-3, μ = 4.526 mm^-1, S = 1.035, F（000） = 324, R = 0.0168 and wR = 0.0471 for 1712 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. （Aρ）max = 0.458, （Aρ）min = -0.565 e·A-3 and （A/σ）max = 0.001. In compound 1, each 3-NPA^2- ligand links six Ba（II） ions and each Ba（II） ion attaches to six 3-NPA^2- ligands to form an inorganic layer structure in the ab-plane. The phenyl groups of 3-NPA^2- ligands are grafted on the two sides of the inorganic layer, resulting in a two-dimensional （2D） layered structure. Furthermore, the thermal stability and luminescent properties of compound 1 have also been investigated in detail.

Crystallization, Mechanical and Flame-retardant Properties of Poly(lactic acid) Composites with DOPO and DOPO-POSS

Poly（lactic acid）（PLA） composites with 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide （DOPO） and DOPO- containing polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane （DOPO-POSS） were prepared via melting extrusion and injection molding. The crystallization, mechanical, and flame-retardant properties of PLA/DOPO and PLA/DOPO-POSS were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, tensile testing, thermogravimetric analysis （TGA）, limiting oxygen index （LOI）, and cone calorimeter test. The DSC results showed that the DOPO added could act as a plasticizer as reflected by lower glass transition temperature and inhibited crystallization of part of the PLA; the DOPO-POSS acted like a filler in the PLA matrix and slightly improved the crystallinity of the PLA matrix. The XRD and DSC analyses indicated that the PLA composites by cold molding injection were amorphous, and the PLA composites following a heat treatment in an oven at 120 ℃for 30 min achieved crystallinity. All the PLA and its composites after heat treatment had improved mechanical properties. The thermogravimetric analysis （TGA） tests showed that the PLA, DOPO and DOPO-POSS decomposed separately in the PLA/DOPO and PLA/DOPO-POSS, respectively. The cone calorimeter tests offered clear evidence that addition of the DOPO-POSS resulted in an evident reduction of 25% for the peak of heat release rate （p-HRR）. It was also confirmed that the crystalline flame-retardant PLA composites after heat treatment had better flame retardant properties than the amorphous PLA composites prepared by the cold molding.

In situ(α-Al_2O_3+ZrB_2)/Al composites with network distribution fabricated by reaction hot pressing

In situ（α-Al2O3+ZrB2）/Al composites with network distribution were fabricated using low-energy ball milling and reaction hot pressing. Differential thermal analysis（DTA） was used to study the reaction mechanisms in the Al–Zr O2–B system. X-ray diffraction（XRD） and scanning electron microscopy（SEM） in conjunction with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy（EDX） were used to investigate the composite phases, morphology, and microstructure of the composites. The effect of matrix network size on the microstructure and mechanical properties was investigated. The results show that the optimum sintering parameters to complete reactions in the Al–Zr O2–B system are 850°C and 60 min. In situ-synthesized α-Al2O3 and Zr B2 particles are dispersed uniformly around Al particles, forming a network microstructure; the diameters of the α-Al2O3 and Zr B2 particles are approximately 1–3 μm. When the size of Al powder increases from 60–110 μm to 150–300 μm, the overall surface contact between Al powders and reactants decreases, thereby increasing the local volume fraction of reinforcements from 12% to 21%. This increase of the local volume leads to a significant increase in microhardness of the in situ（α-Al2O3–Zr B2）/Al composites from Hv 163 to Hv 251.

The Bi0.5Na0.02Sb1.48-xInxTe3alloys（x =0.02-0.20） were synthesized by vacuum melting and hot pressing methods at 753 K,60 MPa for 30 *** of Na and In dual partial substitutions for Sb on the thermoelectric properties were investigated from 300 to 500 *** Sb with Na and In can enhance the Seebeck coefficient effectively near room *** electrical resistivity of the Na and In dual-doping samples is higher within the whole test temperature *** Bi0.5Na0.02Sb1.48-xInxTe3samples（x = 0.02,0.06） play a great role in optimizing the thermal *** for the Bi0.5Na0.02Sb1.46In0.02Te3alloy,the minimum value of thermal conductivity reaches 0.53 W·m-1·K-1at 320 *** thermoelectric performance of the Na and In dualdoped samples is greatly improved,and a figure of merit ZT of 1.26 is achieved at 300 K for the Bi0.5Na0.02Sb1.42In0.06Te3,representing 26%enhancement with respect to ZT = 1.0 of the undoped sample.

Effect of Al5Ti1B master alloy on microstructures and properties of AZ61 alloys

AZ61 alloys with different levels of Al5Ti1B master alloy additions were prepared by conventional casting *** effects of Al5Ti1B contents and holding time on microstructures and microhardness of AZ61 alloys were studied by XRD,OM and microhardness testing *** results show that when the addition level of Al5Ti1B master alloy is less than 0.5%(mass fraction),the average grain size of the alloys decreases with the increase of Al5Ti1B content at the same holding *** the grain size increases somewhat with further addition of *** average grain size of the alloys decreases with the increase of the holding time as it is less than 30 min at the same addition level of *** is considered that TiB2 particles can serve as the heterogeneous nucleation sites ofα-Mg during solidification,and heterogeneous nucleation is the main reason for the grain refinement of AZ61 *** microhardness of the refined AZ61 alloys with 1.0%Al5Ti1B addition is increased by about 8%.

Preparation of NiO nanoparticles from Ni(OH)_2·NiCO_3·4H_2O precursor by mechanical activation

A mechanical activation process was introduced as a facile method for producing nickel oxide nanopowders. The precursor compound Ni（OH）2-NiCO3-4H2O was synthesized by chemical precipitation. The precursor was milled with NaCl diluent. A high-energy ball milling process led to decomposition of the precursor and subsequent dispersal in NaCl media. Nickel oxide nanocrystalline powders were produced by subsequent heat treatment and water washing. Milling rotation speed, milling time, ball-to-powder ratio （BPR）, and nickel chlo-ride-to-precursor ratio were introduced as influential parameters on the wavelength of maximum absorption （λmax）. The effects of these pa-rameters were investigated by the Taguchi method. The optimum conditions for this study were a milling rotation speed of 150 r/min, a mill-ing time of 20 h, a BPR of 15/1, and a NaCl-to-powder weight ratio （NPR） of 6/1. In these conditions,λmax was predicted to be 292 nm. The structural properties of the samples were determined by field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and energy dispersive spectrometry.
