Objective:To observe the therapeutic effects and underlying mechanism of baicalin against colon ***:The effects of baicalin on the proliferation and growth of colon cancer cells MC38 and *** were observed and predicted potential molecular targets of baicalin for colon cancer therapy were studied by network ***,molecular docking and drug affinity responsive target stability（DARTS）analysis were performed to confirm the interaction between potential targets and ***,the mechanisms predicted by in silico analyses were experimentally verified in-vitro and ***:Baicalin significantly inhibited proliferation,invasion,migration,and induced apoptosis in MC38 and CT26 cells（all P<0.01）.Additionally,baicalin caused cell cycle arrest at the S phase,while the G0/G1phase was detected in the tiny portion of the *** network pharmacology analysis identified 6 therapeutic targets associated with baicalin,which potentially affect various pathways including 39 biological processes and 99 sugnaling *** addition,molecular docking and DARTS predicted the potential binding of baicalin with cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor 2A（CDKN2A）,protein kinase B（AKT）,caspase 3,and mitogen-activated protein kinase（MAPK）.In vitro,the expressions of CDKN2A,MAPK,and p-AKT were suppressed by baicalin in MC38 and CT26 *** vivo,baicalin significantly reduced the tumor size and weight（all P<0.01） in the colon cancer mouse model via inactivating p-AKT,CDKN2A,cyclin dependent kinase 4,cyclin dependent kinase 2,interleukin-1,tumor necrosis factor α,and activating caspase 3 and mouse double minute 2 homolog signaling（all P<0.05）.Conclusion:Baicalin suppressed the CDKN2A protein level to prevent colon cancer and could be used as a therapeutic target for colon cancer.

Second near-infrared(NIR-II)window optical molecular imaging kicks off a new revolution in high-quality imaging in vivo,but always suffers from the hurdles of inevitable tissue autofluorescence background and NIR-II probe ***,we prepare a Förster resonance energy transfer-based ratiometric NIR-II window hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S)sensor through the combination of an H_(2)S-responsive NIR-II cyanine dye(acceptor,LET-1055)and an H_(2)S-inert rhodamine hybrid polymethine dye(donor,Rh930).This sensor not only exhibits high sensitivity and selectivity,but also shows rapid reaction kinetics(~20 min)and relatively low limit of detection(~96 nM)toward H_(2)S,allowing in vivo ratiometric NIR-II fluorescence imaging of orthotopic liver and colon tumors and visualization of the drug-induced hepatic H_(2)S *** findings provide the potential for advancing the feasibility of NIR-II activity-based sensing for in vivo clinical diagnosis.

The thermochromic mechanism and the structure-property regulation principle of reversible thermochromic polydiacetylene(PDA)materials have always been a challenging *** this work,a series of diacetylene monomers(m-PCDA)containing phenyl and amide or carboxyl groups were synthesized from 10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid(PCDA)through the esterification or amidation *** effects of the number and the distribution of the functional groups in m-PCDA molecules on their solid-state polymerization capability,and the thermochromic mechanism of their corresponding polymers(m-PDA)were investigated and discussed in *** results show that the m-PCDA monomers containing both benzene ring and groups that can form hydrogen bonding interactions have strong intermolecular interaction,and are easy to carry out the solid phase polymerization under 254-nm UV irradiation to obtain the corresponding new thermochromic m-PDA *** thermochromic behavior of m-PDA depends on its melting *** initial color-change temperature(blue to red)is determined by the onset melting tem perature,and the temperature range in which reversible color recovery can be achieved by repeat heating-cooling treatment is determined by its melting *** to the proposed thermochromic mechanism of PDA,various new PDA materials with precise thermochromic temperatu res and reversible thermochromic temperature ra nges can be designed and synthesized through the appropriate introduction of benzene ring and groups that can form hydrogen bonding interactions into the molecular structure of linear diacetylene *** work provides a perspective to the precise molecular structure design and the property regulation of the reversible thermochromic PDA materials.

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NAD+)plays an essential role in cellular metabolism,mitochondrial homeostasis,inflammation,and ***,the role of NAD+-regulated genes,including coding and long non-coding genes in cancer development is poorly *** constructed a prediction model based on the expression level of NAD+metabolism-related genes(NMRGs).Furthermore,we validated the expression of NMRGs in gastric cancer(GC)tissues and cell lines;additionally,β-nicotinamide mononucleotide(NMN),a precursor of NAD+,was used to treat the GC cell lines to analyze its effects on the expression level of NMRGs lncRNAs and cellular proliferation,cell cycle,apoptosis,and senescence-associated secretory phenotype(SASP).A total of 13 NMRGs-related lncRNAs were selected to construct prognostic risk signatures,and patients with high-risk scores had a poor *** immune checkpoint genes were upregulated in the high-risk *** addition,cell cycle,epigenetics,and senescence were significantly downregulated in the high-risk ***,we found that the levels of immune cell infiltration,including CD8 T cells,CD4 naïve T cells,CD4 memory-activated T cells,B memory cells,and naïve B cells,were significantly associated with risk ***,the treatment of NMN showed increased proliferation of AGS and MKN45 *** addition,the expression of SASP factors(IL6,IL8,IL10,TGF-β,and TNF-α)was significantly decreased after NMN *** conclude that the lncRNAs associated with NAD+metabolism can potentially be used as biomarkers for predicting clinical outcomes of GC patients.

Esophageal cancer(EC)is an aggressive malignancy with a poor *** factors,including dietary habits,and antacid and antibiotic use,have been shown to influence the esophageal ***,enrichment and diversity of the esophageal microbiome can also impact its *** studies have revealed prevalent changes in the esophageal microbiome among patients with EC,thus suggesting the potential contribution of the esophageal microbiome to EC ***,distinct microbiome compositions have been observed in patients with different responses to radiotherapy and chemotherapy,indicating the role of the esophageal microbiome in modulating treatment *** this review,we have examined previous studies on the esophageal microbiome in healthy individuals and patients with EC or other esophageal diseases,with a focus on identifying microbial communities associated with EC pathogenesis and *** the role of the microbiome in EC may aid in early detection and optimized treatment strategies,ultimately leading to better outcomes for patients.

Clogging frequently occurs in the cutter head,excavation chamber or screw conveyor when an earth pressure balance(EPB)shield machine is tunneling in soft or silty clay ground with high clay mineral *** this paper,montmorillonite,kaolinite,and illite were selected as research objects,and molecular dynamics simulation and laboratory experiment were *** the microscopic scale,dynamic contact behavior and interfacial mechanical behavior of the interface between clay minerals and water/surfactant solution was simulated and the interfacial adhesion and conditioning mechanism between clay minerals and water/surfactant solution was ***,sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate surfactant was selected as the main composition of the soil ***,the adhesion stress before and after soil conditioning and the contact angles between clay minerals and water/surfactant solution were tested and analyzed at the macroscopic *** result shows that the contact angle between droplet and clay mineral surface is an important parameter to characterize soil *** simulation rules of the microscopic contact angle are consistent with the experiment ***,the adsorption energy between microscopic substances is dominated by electrostatic force,which can reflect the adhesion stress between macroscopic *** adhesion stress can be effectively decreased by adding the surfactant to the soil conditioner.

Conversion of a single-layer ANN to photonic SNN for pattern recognition

This work presents a complete conversion scheme for photonic spiking neural networks(SNNs).We verified that the output of an artificial neural network(ANN) trained with the simulated optical activation function can be directly converted into the spike rate of a photonic spiking neuron *** reveal the feasibility of hardware implementation,we considered the effects of different bit precisions of data and weight,noise level,and bias current mismatch on the converted *** proposed scheme was evaluated using the Deterding vowel,IRIS,TIDIGITS,and MNIST datasets for pattern recognition,and achieved mean accuracies of 95.80%,98.67%,96.19%,and 92.33%,*** proposed scheme can convert an ANN into a photonic SNN with almost no precision loss,and the performance was comparable to that of an ANN trained with the rectified linear unit *** proposed scheme can enable the high-performance implementation of photonic SNNs.

Macroscopic model and statistical model to characterize electromagnetic information of a digital coding metasurface

A digital coding metasurface is a platform connecting the digital space and electromagnetic wave space, and has therefore gained much attention due to its intriguing value in reshaping wireless channels and realizing new communication architectures. Correspondingly, there is an urgent need for electromagnetic information theory that reveals the upper limit of communication capacity and supports the accurate design of metasurface-based communication systems. To this end, we propose a macroscopic model and a statistical model of the digital coding metasurface. The macroscopic model uniformly accommodates both digital and electromagnetic aspects of the meta-atoms and predicts all possible scattered fields of the digital coding metasurface based on a small number of simulations or measurements. Full-wave simulations and experimental results show that the macroscopic model is feasible and accurate. A statistical model is further proposed to correlate the mutual coupling between meta-atoms with covariance and to calculate the entropy of the equivalent currents of digital coding metasurface. These two models can help reconfigurable intelligent surfaces achieve more accurate beamforming and channel estimation, and thus improve signal power and coverage. Moreover, the models will encourage the creation of a precoding codebook in metasurface-based direct digital modulation systems, with the aim of approaching the upper limit of channel capacity. With these two models, the concepts of current space and current entropy, as well as the analysis of information loss from the coding space to wave space, is established for the first time, helping to bridge the gap between the digital world and the physical world, and advancing developments of electromagnetic information theory and new-architecture wireless systems.
