Cerebral palsy is a multiple disability manifested by motor deficits and impairments of cognition, language, and body perception. To assess if body schema and body image distortion in children and youth with cerebral palsy can be represented through draw-a-person-test, outcome measure of conscious and subconscious body awareness, visual perception and cognition in two age-matched groups, one with cerebral palsy and other with developmental disability, were collected. The outcome was compared within the two groups and with reference data (healthy population) and correlated with the outcome of draw-a-person test. Decreased scores in the draw-a-person test in subjects with cerebral palsy compared both to subjects with developmental disorders and to healthy population had strongly correlated with decreased scores in visual perception. This suggests that draw-a-person test may provide a preliminary guidance for the assessment of visual perception. No statistically significant effect of cognitive abilities on performance in the draw-a-person test was found. The influence of both conscious and subconscious body awareness on the scores in the draw-a-person test was not significant, which confirms that this test alone is not fully reliable to detect the body schema and body image disorder in cerebral palsy.

AIM： TO assess the safety and efficacy of antioxidant therapy for patients with chronic hepatitis C virus （HCV） infection.METHODS： One hundred chronic HCV infection patients failed in interferon treatment were enrolled and randomly assigned to receive combined intravenous and oral antioxidants or placebo, or oral treatment alone, Primary end points were liver enzymes, HCV-RNA levels and histology.RESULTS： Combined oral and intravenous antioxidant therapy was associated with a significant decline in ALT levels in 52% of patients who received antioxidant therapy vs 20% of patients who received placebo （P = 0.05）. Histology activity index （HAI） score at the end of treatment was reduced in 48% of patients who received antioxidant therapy vs 26% of patients who received placebo （P = 0.21）. HCV-RNA levels decreased by l-log or more in 28% of patients who received antioxidant therapy vs 12% who received placebo （P = NS）. In part 11 of the trial, oral administration of antioxidants was not associated with significant alterations in any of the end points.CONCLUSION： Antioxidant therapy has a mild beneficial effect on the inflammatory response of chronic HCV infection patients who are non-responders to interferon. Combined antiviral and antioxidant therapy may be beneficial for these patients.

近来,理论研究预言量子霍尔效应,在外加磁场为0的情况下物质出现的一种全新的量子态可以在HgTe/(Hg,Cd)Te量子阱中实现。我们制造了低密度高迁移率的样品结构,在样品中我们可以通过外加栅极电压调节载流子从n型穿过绝缘区到p型。对于宽度d6.3nm),在绝缘层中也出现接近2e2/h的剩余电导,其中e是电子电荷,h是Planck常数.剩余电导与样品宽度无关,证明这是由边缘态引起的.此外剩余电导可以被微小的外加磁场所破坏.在临界厚度d=6.3nm处发生的量子相变也与磁场诱发的绝缘-金属转变互相独立.这些观察结果为量子自旋霍尔效应提供了实验证据。

Mineral and bone disorder(MBD)in chronic kidney disease(CKD)is tightly linked to cardiovascular disease(CVD).In this study,we aimed to compare the prognostic value of nine MBD biomarkers to determine those associated best with adverse cardiovascular(CV)outcomes and *** 5217 participants of the German CKD(GCKD)study enrolled with an estimated glomerular filtration rate(eG FR)between 30–60 mL·min-1 per 1.73 m2 or overt proteinuria,serum osteoprotegerin(OPG),C-terminal fibroblast growth factor-23(FGF23),intact parathyroid hormone(iP TH),bone alkaline phosphatase(BAP),cross-linked C-telopeptide of type 1 collagen(CTX1),procollagen 1intact N-terminal propeptide(P1NP),phosphate,calcium,and 25-OH vitamin D were measured at *** with missing values among these parameters(n=971)were excluded,leaving a total of 4246 participants for *** a median follow-up of6.5 years,387 non-CV deaths,173 CV deaths,645 nonfatal major adverse CV events(MACEs)and 368 hospitalizations for congestive heart failure(CHF)were *** and FGF23 were associated with all outcomes,with the highest hazard ratios(HRs)for *** the final Cox regression model,adjusted for CV risk factors,including kidney function and all other investigated biomarkers,each standard deviation increase in OPG was associated with non-CV death(HR 1.76,95%CI:1.35–2.30),CV death(HR 2.18,95%CI:1.50–3.16),MACE(HR 1.38,95%CI:1.12–1.71)and hospitalization for CHF(HR 2.05,95%CI:1.56–2.69).Out of the nine biomarkers examined,stratification based on serum OPG best identified the CKD patients who were at the highest risk for any adverse CV outcome and mortality.

we report on the concept of an innovative source to produce polarized proton/deuteron beams of a kinetic energy up to several GeV from a laser-driven plasma accelerator. Spin effects have been implemented into the particle-in-cell(PIC) simulation code VLPL(Virtual Laser Plasma Lab) to make theoretical predictions about the behavior of proton spins in laser-induced plasmas. Simulations of spin-polarized targets show that the polarization is conserved during the acceleration process. For the experimental realization, a polarized HCl gas-jet target is under construction using the fundamental wavelength of a Nd:YAG laser system to align the HCl bonds and simultaneously circularly polarized light of the fifth harmonic to photo-dissociate, yielding nuclear polarized H atoms. Subsequently, their degree of polarization is measured with a Lamb-shift polarimeter. The final experiments, aiming at the first observation of a polarized particle beam from laser-generated plasmas, will be carried out at the 10 Pw laser system SULF at SIOM, Shanghai.

Metastases of uveal melanoma(UM)spread predominantly to the *** to low response rates to systemic therapies,liver-directed therapies(LDT)are commonly used for tumor *** impact of LDT on the response to systemic treatment is unknown.A total of 182 patients with metastatic UM treated with immune checkpoint blockade(ICB)were included in this *** were recruited from prospective skin cancer centers and the German national skin cancer registry(ADOReg)of the German Dermatologic Cooperative Oncology Group(DeCOG).Two cohorts were compared:patients with LDT(cohort A,n=78)versus those without LDT(cohort B,n=104).Data were analyzed for response to treatment,progression-free survival(PFS),and overall survival(OS).The median OS was significantly longer in cohort A than in cohort B(20.1 vs.13.8 months;P=0.0016)and a trend towards improved PFS was observed for cohort A(3.0 vs.2.5 months;P=0.054).The objective response rate to any ICB(16.7%vs.3.8%,P=0.0073)and combined ICB(14.1%vs.4.5%,P=0.017)was more favorable in cohort *** data suggest that the combination of LDT with ICB may be associated with a survival benefit and higher treatment response to ICB in patients with metastatic UM.

A high angular resolution near-infrared image that shows the intensity of polarization for the GG Tau A binary system was obtained with the Subaru Telescope. The image shows a circumbinary disk scattering the light from the central binary. The azimuthal profile of the intensity of polarization for the circumbinary disk is roughly reproduced by a simple disk model with the Henyey-Greenstein phase function and the Rayleigh function, indicating there are small dust grains at the surface of the disk. Combined with a previous observation of the circumbinary disk, our image indicates that the gap structure in the circumbinary disk orbits counterclockwise, but material in the disk orbits clockwise. we propose that there is a shadow caused by material located between the central binary and the circumbinary disk. The separations and position angles of the stellar components of the binary in the past 20 yr are consistent with the binary orbit with a = 33.4 AU and e = 0.34.
