Consumption of natto,a traditional eastern Asian food made of fermented soybeans by Bacillus subtilis,has long been linked to healthy aging and longer human *** the key thrombolytic ingredient of natto,the serine protease nattokinase(NK)has been developed into a widely-used dietary *** has shown excellent anti-thrombus,thrombolytic,and anti-inflammation activities that potentially delay aging and provide therapeutic effects on aging-related *** this review,we critically overview the experimental and clinical evidence in the past 20 years that support the beneficial function of NK in the prevention and treatment of aging-related diseases,including cardiovascular diseases,Alzheimer’s disease,other abnormalities and *** focus on the underlying molecular mechanisms and recent advances in application methods that are aimed at further development of NK for healthier aging of modern *** challenges and unsolved issues in this area are also discussed.

We created CRISPR-Cas9 knock-out and overexpressing OsbZIP72 transgenic rice plants to gain a better understanding of the role and molecular mechanism of OsbZIP72 gene in stress tolerance,which has remained largely ***72 was expressed and integrated into rice transgenic plant genomes,and the OsbZIP72 transcript in overexpression lines was elicited by salinity,abscisic acid(ABA)and drought ***72 overexpressing plants showed higher tolerance to drought and salinity stresses,while knock-out transgenic lines showed higher sensitivity to these *** differentially expressed genes(DEGs)from RNA-sequencing data encompassed several abiotic stress genes,and the functional classification of these DEGs demonstrated the robust transcriptome diversity in *** one-hybrid,along with luciferase assay,indicated that OsbZIP72 acted as a transcriptional ***,electrophoresis mobility assay revealed that OsbZIP72 bound directly to the ABAresponsive element in the OsHKT1;1 promoter region and activated its ***,our findings revealed that OsbZIP72 can act as a transcriptional modulator with the ability to induce the expression of OsHKT1;1 in response to environmental stress through an ABA-dependent regulatory pathway,indicating that OsbZIP72 can play a crucial role in the ABA-mediated salt and drought tolerance pathway in rice.

AIM To evaluate the prognostic power of different molecular data in liver *** Cox regression screen and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator were performed to select significant prognostic variables. Then the concordance index was calculated to evaluate the prognostic power. For the combination data, based on the clinical cox model, molecular features that better fit the model were combined to calculate the concordance index. Prognostic models were built based on the arithmetic summation of the significant variables. Kaplan-Meier survival curve and log-rank test were performed to compare the survival difference. Then a heatmap was constructed and gene set enrichment analysis was performed for pathway *** The m RNA data were the most informative prognostic variables in all kinds of omics data in liver cancer, with the highest concordance index(C-index) of 0.61. For the copy number variation, methylation and mi RNA data, the combination of molecular data with clinical data could significantly boost the prediction accuracy of the molecular data alone(P < 0.05). On the other hand, the combination of clinical data with methylation, mi RNA and m RNA data could significantly boost the prediction accuracy of the clinical data itself(P < 0.05). Based on the significant prognostic variables, different prognostic models were built. In addition, the heatmap analysis, survival analysis, and gene set enrichment analysis validated the practicability of the prognostic *** In all kinds of omics data in liver cancer, the m RNA data might be the most informative prognostic variable. The combination of clinical data with molecular data might be the future direction for cancer prognosis and prediction.

Intractable chronic pain is a great challenge in *** sensitization based on the positive changes of dendritic spines is the main mechanism of intractable chronic *** low-dose radiation has been proved to regulate the changes of dendritic spines ***,we make a hypothesis that low-dose radiation could relieve cancer and noncancer pain through negatively regulating the shape and reducing the number and density of dendritic spines in the spinal *** method is supposed to be a new therapy for intractable chronic pain by expanding indication to non-cancer pain,translocating radiation site from where the tumor exists to special segments of spinal cord and keeping radiation dose at a low *** therapy would be reliable for relieving non-cancer pain and supply more choices for relieving cancer pain.

BACKGROUND Few studies have simultaneously compared the predictive value of various frailty assessment tools for outcome measures in patients undergoing gastrointestinal cancer ***,it is difficult to determine which assessment tool is most relevant to the prognosis of this *** To investigate the predictive value of three frailty assessment tools for patient prognosis in patients undergoing gastrointestinal cancer *** This single-centre,observational,prospective cohort study was conducted at the Affiliated lianyungang Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from August 2021 to July 2022.A total of 229 patients aged≥18 years who underwent surgery for gastrointestinal cancer were included in this *** collected baseline data on the participants and administered three scales to assess frailty:The comprehen-sive geriatric assessment(CGA),Fried phenotype and FRAIL *** outcome measures were the postoperative severe complications and increased hospital RESULTS The prevalence of frailty when assessed with the CGA was 65.9%,47.6%when assessed with the Fried phenotype,and 34.9%when assessed with the FRAIL *** the CGA as a reference,kappa coefficients were 0.398 for the Fried phenotype and 0.291 for the FRAIL scale(both P<0.001).Postoperative severe complications and increased hospital costs were observed in 29(12.7%)and 57(24.9%)patients,*** logistic analysis confirmed that the CGA was independently associated with increased hospital costs(odds ratio=2.298,95%confidence interval:1.044-5.057;P=0.039).None of the frailty assessment tools were associated with postoperative severe *** The CGA was an independent predictor of increased hospital costs in patients undergoing surgery for gastro-intestinal cancer.

Accurate values of masked detector signal(MDS)is the key to the correction capability of wavefront sensorless(WFSless)model-based adaptive optics(AO)***,imaging detectors always carry different kinds of noises in real applications,which make MDS deviate from theoretical *** errors of MDS suffered from the noise were analyzed through theory and ***,considering the method of threshold is usually used to mitigate the noise,we also discussed the influence of threshold on *** showed that the simulation is consistent with the theory and there exists an optimal threshold to make the error minimum for different noise.A fi tting formula,which can accurately calculate optimal thresholds,was proposed based on the simulated *** results can provide a plausible method and theoretical basis to mitigate imaging noise of detectors in real applications.

A new dual-actuator fatigue loading system of wind turbine blades was *** with the traditional pendulum loading mode,the masses in this system only moved linearly along the loading direction to increase the exciting ***,the two actuators and the blade constituted a complicated non-linear energy transferring system,which led to the non-synchronization of ***-site test results showed that the virtual spindle synchronous strategy commonly used in synchronous control was undesirable and caused the instability of the blade’s amplitude eventually.A cross-coupled control strategy based on the active disturbance rejection algorithm was ***,a control system model was built according to the synchronization error and tracking ***,based on arranging the transition process,estimating the system state and error feedback,and compensating disturbance,an active disturbance rejection controller was designed by adopting the optimal control ***,on-site test results showed that the cross-coupled control strategy based on the active disturbance rejection algorithm could ensure the synchronization of two *** maximum speed synchronization error of the two motors was less than 16 RPM,the displacement synchronization error of the two actuators was less than 0.25 mm and approaching zero after 4 seconds,and the peak value of vibration of the blade was less than 5 mm,which satisfied the fatigue test requirement.

The quality of background error statistics is one of the key components for successful assimilation of observations in a numerical *** background error covariance(BEC) of ocean waves is generally estimated under an assumption that it is stationary over a period of time and uniform over a ***,error statistics are in fact functions of the physical processes governing the meteorological situation and vary with the wave *** this paper,we simulated the BEC of the significant wave height(SWH) employing Monte Carlo *** interesting result is that the BEC varies consistently with the mean wave direction(MWD).In the model domain,the BEC of the SWH decreases significantly when the MWD changes abruptly.A new BEC model of the SWH based on the correlation between the BEC and MWD was then developed.A case study of regional data assimilation was performed,where the SWH observations of buoy 22001 were used to assess the SWH *** results show that the new BEC model benefits wave prediction and allows reasonable approximations of anisotropy and inhomogeneous errors.
