In this paper,two surfactants,3-dodecyloxypropanamine(DOPA) and 3-tetradecyloxypropylamine(TOPA),were synthesized and used as collectors in the quartz micro-flotation in the *** tests,FT-IR,XPS measurements,and ab initio Molecular Dynamics(MD) simulations were conducted to research DOPA,TOPA,and dodecylamine(DDA)'s adsorption mechanisms onto quartz(101)*** results of micro-flotation show that the adsorption of DOPA and TOPA onto quartz surface is more robust than that of *** zeta-potential result shows that the DOPA/TOPA was adsorbed on quartz through electrostatic ***,MD simulation adsorption models were built to compare the computational properties of the three surfactants,such as the radial distribution function,and the interaction energies between the collectors and the quartz cleavage *** interaction energies of surfactants(RNH_(3)^(+) or RNH_(2)) on the quartz surface explained why the pH range of DOPA/TOPA is wider than that of *** analyses and MD simulations confirmed that DOPA bonded with the(101) surface of quartz through three types of hydrogen bonds between the-NH_(2) of DOPA and the O atom of *** hydrogen bonds of type A and type C were the most likely type and more potent than those of type B.

Objective： To evaluate apoptotic effects of cisplatin and cordycepin as single agent or in combination with cytotoxicity in oral cancer cells. Methods： The influences of cisplatin （2.5 μg/mL） and/or cordycapin treatment （10 or 100 μmol/L） to human OC3 oral cancer cell line were investigated by morphological observation for cell death appearance, methylthiazoletetrazolium （MTT） assay for cell viability, flow cytometry assay for cell apoptosis, and Western blotting for apoptotic protein expressions. Results： Data demonstrated that co-administration of cisplatin （2.5 μg/mL） and cordycepin （10 or 100μmol/L） resulted in the enhancement of OC3 cell apoptosis compared to cisplatin or cordycapin alone treatment （24 h）, respectively （P〈0.05）. In flow cytometry assay, percentage of cells arrested at subG1 phase with co-treatment of cordycepin and cisplatin （30%） was significantly higher than cisplatin （5%） or cordycepin （12%） alone group （P〈0.05）, confirming a synergistically apoptotic effect of cordycepin and cisplatin. In cellular mechanism study, co-treatment of cordycepin and cisplatin induced more stress-activated protein kinase/dun terminal kinase （JNK）, the expressions of caspase-7, and the cleavage of poly ADP-ribose polymerase （PARP） as compared to cisplatin or cordycepin alone treatment （P〈0.05）. Conclusion： Cisplatin and cordycepin possess synergistically apoptotic effect through the activation of JNK/caspase-7/PARP pathway in human OC3 oral cancer cell line.

AIM To explore the correlation of metabolomics profiles ofgastric cancer(GC) with its chromosomal instability(CIN) *** Nineteen GC patients were classified as CIN and nonCIN type by The Cancer Genome Atlas Research Group system, based on 409 oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes sequenced. The aqueous metabolites of the GC tumor and its surrounding adjacent healthy tissues were identified through liquid chromatographymass spectrometry. Groups were compared by defining variable importance in projection score of > 1.2, a fold change value or its reciprocal of > 1.2, and a P value of < 0.05 as a significant *** In total,twelve men and seven women were enrolled, with a median age of 66 years(range, 47-87 years). The numbers of gene alterations in the CIN GC group were significantly higher than those in the non-CIN GC(32-218 vs 2-17; P < 0.0005). Compared with the adjacent healthy tissues, GC tumors demonstrated significantly higher aspartic acid, citicoline, glutamic acid, oxidized glutathione, succinyladenosine, and uridine diphosphate-Nacetylglucosamine levels, but significantly lower butyrylcarnitine, glutathione hydroxyhexanoycarnitine, inosinic acid, isovalerylcarnitine, and threonine levels(all P < 0.05). CIN tumors contained significantly higher phosphocholine and uridine 5'-monophosphate levels but significantly lower beta-citryl-L-glutamic acid levels than did non-CIN tumors(all P < 0.05). CIN GC tumors demonstrated additional altered pathways involving alanine, aspartate, and glutamate metabolism, glyoxylate and dicarboxylate metabolism, histidine metabolism, and phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan *** Metabolomic profiles of GC tumors and the adjacent healthy tissue are distinct, and the CIN status is associated with downstream metabolic alterations in GC.

A conference key establishment protocol allows a group of conferees to agree on a secret key shared among them for secure group *** paper proposes a three-level conference key establishment protocol based on the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) framework to establish a group-level key,home location register (HLR) level keys,and visitor location register (VLR) level keys simultaneously for a group of *** group-level key is used to secure the communications for all conferees,the HLR-level key is for those within the same HLR domain,and the VLR-level key is for those within the same VLR *** group-level key can be used for securing inter-domain group-oriented applications such as commercial remote conferencing *** HLRand VLR-level keys can be used for securing intra-domain subgroup applications (e.g.,location-based or context-aware services) and dynamic key *** our proposed protocol exploits existing UMTS security functions and the exclusive-or operation,it is compatible with UMTS *** means that it is fast and easy to implement on the existing UMTS ***,the proposed protocol has low computational complexities and can provide cost effectiveness,load-amortization,scalability,user authentication,key establishment,key confirmation,key updating,and lawful interception.

Population aging has developed into a significant area of concern in developed countries, especially in relation to thepreservation of functional independence and the quality of life (QoL). However, information on the contribution ofsex differences in quality of life and cognitive function is scarce. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate potentialdifferences in cognitive function and QoL between males and females. For this study, we recruited 382 healthy subjectsaged 19–79 years from communities in Southern Taiwan region,China. Cognitive function and QoL were assessed using the UCSD Performance-based Skills Assessment, Brief Version (UPSA-B) and World Health Organization Quality ofLife Instruments (WHOQOL-BREF), respectively. The effects of sex, age groups, and interaction of sex and ageon the UPSA-B and WHOQOL-BREF scores were examined. We found that the financial and communicationdomains of the UPSA-B showed declining trends with age in both sexes, although these trends were more obviousin females than in males. In the domain of Physical Capacity, QoL showed an age-increased trend in males, whileQoL in the Environment domain showed an age-increased trend in females. Regarding the relationships betweencognitive function and QoL, we found that the financial skill and communication skill of UPSA-B was positivelycorrelated to the psychological well-being domain of WHOQOL-BREF, in males of age <40 years. In conclusion,our findings demonstrate differential relationships between cognitive function and QoL between males and females,which could serve as a basis for further study between cognitive function and quality of life in communities.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the promise of utilizing some relatively new feedback control techniques in ecosystem management. First, we set forth a basic ecological-economic model of a predator-prey-hunting system in which both the predator and prey have use(flow) and non-use(stock) value and when the predator can inflict transboundary damages. We then use new data from the US Mountain West to show how a particular feedback approach—linear parameter-varying(LPV) control—can be utilized in this context. Our LPV model is able to quantify the cost of managing disturbances that inevitably arise as a manager tries to keep the actual path of the system "close" to its optimum. The results suggest management strategies in mountain ecosystems that feature large, mammalian carnivores.

Effect of Buerger’s Exercises on Improving Peripheral Circulation: A Systematic Review

The aim of this study was to systematically review the evidence for the effectiveness of Buerger’s exercise on the peripheral circulation or diabetic foot ulceration. A systematic search and 18 electronic databases were conducted. The intervention was predominantly focused on Buerger’s exercise as an outcome. Due to high heterogeneity, data were synthesized in a narrative format rather than by statistical methods. Nine studies that covered 592 participants were selected in the analysis, of which 8 of the 9 found an effect of Buerger’s exercise on peripheral circulation. The positive effects were indicative of improving blood flow, walking ability, reducing necrosis, reducing venous embolism, pain, swelling, cyanosis and the bed-rest times. However, the study design and quality appraisal were limited to Jadad score 2 and the sample size was small. Findings provide some evidence of the beneficial effects of Buerger’s exercises. It was seen as a low cost and low risk physical activity that most diabetic patients could undertake at home. This review highlighted a need for further investigation of standardized procedures of Buerger’s exercises. More high quality studies on the prevention of diabetic foot are required regarding Buerger’s exercises.
