Pseudobranch function has long interested scientists, but its role has yet to be elucidated. Several studies have suggested that pseudobranchs serve respiratory, osmoregulatory, and sensory functions. This work investigated the immunolocalization of pseudobranch carbonic anhydrase （CA） in the teleost fish species rainbow trout （Oncor- hynchus mykiss） to clarify its physiological function. CA was purified from rainbow trout gills O. mykiss and specific antibodies were raised. Immunoblotting between tissue homogenates of pseudobrench and gill CA antibodies showed specific immunostaining with only one band corresponding to CA in the pseudobranch homogenate. Results of im- munohistochemical technique revealed that CA was distributed within pseudobranch cells and more precisely in the apical parts （anti-vascular） of cells. The basal （vascular） parts of cells, tubular system, blood capillaries, and pillar cells were not immunostained. Immunocytochemistry confirmed these results and showed that some CA enzyme was cytoplasmic and the remainder was linked to membranous structures. The results also showed that the lacunar tissue tayers did not display immunoperoxidase activity. Our results indicated that pseudobranch CA may have a function related to the extracellular medium wherein CA intervenes with the mechanism of stimulation of afferent nerve fibers.

The antibody repertoire of Bos taurus is characterized by a subset of variable heavy(VH)chain regions with ultralong third complementarity determining regions(CDR3)which,compared to other species,can provide a potent response to challenging antigens like HIV *** unusual CDR3 can range to over seventy highly diverse amino acids in length and form uniqueβ-ribbon‘stalk’and disulfide bonded‘knob’structures,far from the typical antigen binding *** genetic components and processes for forming these unusual cattle antibody VH CDR3 are not well *** we analyze sequences of Bos taurus antibody VH domains and find that the subset with ultralong CDR3 exclusively uses a single variable gene,IgHV1-7(VHBUL)rearranged to the longest diversity gene,*** eight nucleotide duplication at the 3′end of IgHV1-7 encodes a longer V-region producing an extended Fβ-strand that contributes to the stalk in a rearranged CDR3.A low amino acid variability was observed in CDR1 and CDR2,suggesting that antigen binding for this subset most likely only depends on the *** a novel,potentially AID mediated,deletional diversification mechanism of the *** VH ultralong CDR3 knob was discovered,in which interior codons of the IgHD8-2 region are removed while maintaining integral structural components of the knob and descending strand of the stalk in *** deletions serve to further diversify cysteine positions,and thus disulfide bonded ***,both germline and somatic genetic factors and processes appear to be involved in diversification of this structurally unusual cattle VH ultralong CDR3 repertoire.

The risk to develop an infection after surgery depends on several factors. Those factors may be interdependent or not, depending on the nature of the surgery and the general condition of the patient. The aim of the present study was to identify the factors involved in the occurrence of the Surgical Site Infections (SSI) in the ng>national referral general hospital ng>of n’djamena (Chad). We first realized an interview in the emergency services and in the general surgery of the hospital. The information collected allowed us to draw up survey sheets. An investigation was then conducted on 152 patients who had surgery and were hospitalized during the study period. The frequency of the SSI was 33.6% (51/152). The main risk factors that we identified were the duration of hospitalization, the category of the hospitalization room, the urgent aspect of the surgical intervention, the patient’s nutritional status and the associated diseases with diabetes, which was present in 52.38% (11/21) of cases of associated pathologies. Analysis of the antibiotic prophylaxis administered to patients showed that ciprofloxacin was more effective in SSI prevention. Indeed, this antibiotic showed the fewest cases of infection with only 1.9% of patients having developed SSI. Our results show a very high frequency of SSI at the ng>national referral general hospitalng> of n’djamena. Poor hospital practices and factors associated to patients seem to be the most factors implicated in the SSI.

Introduction:la qualitéde vie des patients suivis pour une hémopathie maligne dépend non seulement du type de la maladie,de ses caractéristiques cliniques,biologiques et thérapeutiques,mais aussi de la santémentale du patient.L’objectif de notreétude est d’évaluer l’état psychologique des patients au diagnostic,de rechercher les facteurs associésàson altération et de préciser son impact sur la qualitéde vie des patients.Méthode:nous avons menéuneétude monocentrique transversale quiévalue la dépression,l’anxiétéet la qualitéde vie d’une population de patients atteints de syndromes lymphoprolifératifs sur une période de *** questionnaires ontétéutilisés au moment du diagnostic:le HADS pour rechercher la dépression et l’anxiétéet le SF12échelle pourévaluer la qualitéde vie liéeàla santé.Résultat:Les cent patients ont acceptéde répondre aux *** patients sont suivis pour un lymphome malin non hodgkinien,une maladie de Hodgkin,et une leucémie lymphoïde *** sex-ratio(H/F)est de 1,*** prévalence des symptômes anxieux est de 70%avec 95%CI(61,01%;78,99%)et des symptômes dépressifs de 76%avec 95%CI(49,4%;82,6%)des *** analyse univariée,le caractère féminin est associéaux symptômes anxieux(p=0,008),etàl’altération de qualitéde vie mentale(p=0,02).Alors qu’en analyse multivariée,Les symptômes anxio-dépressifs sont significativement associésàun score de qualitéde vie faible aussi bien mentale que *** plus les symptômes anxieux sont corrélés au sexe féminin(ORA=20,50;95%CI[1,58–264,48]);et la douleur(ORA=12,33;95%CI[1,07–141,77]).Conclusion:la recherche de comorbidités psychologiques doit faire partie du diagnostic initial de cette population vulnérable pour une meilleure qualitéde vie.

Objective: The aim of this study was to characterize the polymorphisms of the DC-SIgn (-336 A/g, rs4804803) gene and their association with the immunopathogenicity of dengue fever in Burkina Faso. Methods: A total of three hundred forty-one subjects, patients of all ages have been included in the study: 208 persons presenting clinical signs of dengue fever which were confirmed by diagnostic and 133 Healthy Controls. genotyping for the CD209 variant (-336 A/g, rs4804803) was carried out using TaqMan SnP genotyping Assays. Haplotype frequencies were inferred and compared between the study groups. Results: The percentage of men was 61.88% (211/341) and 38.12% (130/341) for women. The highest frequency of dengue fever (77.42%) was noted in patients with age between 20 to 40 years. Around 1.52% of the study population was positive for HIV, 40.55% were carriers of HBV and 3.83% of HCV. genotype distribution of the CD209 variant (-336 A/g, rs4804803) was in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in both patients and controls. The frequency of allele A was higher than allele g;however, statistical analyses showed that there is no significant difference in genotypes gg, Ag and AA in patients and controls. Conclusion: This related no significant association with dengue for the variant of ?336 A/g in the DC-SIgn gene in an Ouagadougou population. However, our results offered the SnP frequencies in a West African population, which might be useful for the study of ethnic groups.

Over the past three decades, genomic and epigenetic sciences have identified more than 70 genes involved in the molecular pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). DnA methylation, abnormal histone and chromatin regulation and the action of various miRnAs induce AD. The identification of mutated genes has paved the way for the development of diagnostic kits and the initiation of gene therapy trials. However, despite major advances in neuroscience research, there is yet no suitable treatment for AD. Therefore, the early diagnosis of this neurodegenerative disease raises several ethical questions, including the balance between the principle of non-maleficence and the principle of beneficence. The aims of this research were to present the genomic and ethical aspects of AD, and to highlight the ethical principles involved in its presymptomatic diagnosis and therapy. A systematic review of the literature in PubMed, google Scholar and Science Direct was carried out to outline the genomic aspects and ethical principles relating not only to the presymptomatic diagnosis of AD, but also to its gene therapy. A total of 16 publications were selected. AD is a multifactorial disease that can be genetically classified into Sporadic Alzheimer’s Disease and Familial Alzheimer’s Disease based on family history. gene therapy targeting specific disease-causing genes is a promising therapeutic strategy. Advancements in artificial intelligence applications may enable the prediction of AD onset several years in advance. While early diagnosis of AD may empower patients with full decision competence for early decision-making, it also carries implications for the patient’s family members, who are at risk of developing the disease, potentially becoming a source of confusion or anxiety. AD has a significant impact on the life of individuals at risk and their families. given the absence of disease modifying therapy, genetic screening and early diagnosis for this condition raise ethical issue
