Background In beef cattle, more than 50% of the energy input to produce a unit of beef is consumed by the female that produced the calf. Development of genomic tools to identify females with high genetic merit for reproductive function could increase the profitability and sustainability of beef *** Genome-wide association studies(GWAS) were performed using a single-step genomic best linear unbiased prediction approach on pregnancy outcome traits from a population of Angus–Brahman crossbred heifers. Furthermore, a validation GWAS was performed using data from another farm. Heifers were genotyped with the Bovine GGP F250 array that contains 221,077 SNPs. In the discovery population, heifers were bred in winter breeding seasons involving a single round of timed artificial insemination(AI) followed by natural mating for 3 months. Two phenotypes were analyzed: pregnancy outcome to first-service AI(PAI;n = 1,481) and pregnancy status at the end of the breeding season(PEBS;n = 1,725). The heritability was estimated as 0.149 and 0.122 for PAI and PEBS, respectively. In the PAI model, one quantitative trait locus(QTL), located between 52.3 and 52.5 Mb on BTA7, explained about 3% of the genetic variation, in a region containing a cluster of γ-protocadherin genes and SLC25A2. Other QTLs explaining between 0.5% and 1% of the genetic variation were found on BTA12 and 25. In the PEBS model, a large QTL on BTA7 was synonymous with the QTL for PAI, with minor QTLs located on BTA5, 9, 10, 11, 19, and 20. The validation population for pregnancy status at the end of the breeding season were Angus–Brahman crossbred heifers bred by natural mating. Networked robots can perceive their surroundings, interact with each other or humans,and make decisions to accomplish specified tasks in remote/hazardous/complex environments. Satelliteunmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) networks can support such robots by providing on-demand communication services. However, under traditional open-loop communication paradigm, the network resources are usually divided into user-wise mostly-independent links,via ignoring the task-level dependency of robot collaboration. Thus, it is imperative to develop a new communication paradigm, taking into account the highlevel content and values behind, to facilitate multirobot operation. Inspired by Wiener’s Cybernetics theory, this article explores a closed-loop communication paradigm for the robot-oriented satellite-UAV network. This paradigm turns to handle group-wise structured links, so as to allocate resources in a taskoriented manner. It could also exploit the mobility of robots to liberate the network from full coverage,enabling new orchestration between network serving and positive mobility control of robots. Moreover,the integration of sensing, communications, computing and control would enlarge the benefit of this new paradigm. We present a case study for joint mobile edge computing(MEC) offloading and mobility control of robots, and finally outline potential challenges and open issues.

Background:Accumulating evidence shows that long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)play critical roles in cancer *** possible association between lncRNAs and herbal medicine is yet to be *** study aims to identify medicinal herbs associated with lncRNAs by RNA-seq data for breast and prostate ***:To develop the optimal approach for identifying cancer-related lncRNAs,we implemented two steps:(1)applying protein–protein interaction(PPI),Gene Ontology(GO),and pathway analyses,and(2)applying attribute weighting and finding the efficient classification model of the machine learning ***:In the first step,GO terms and pathway analyses on differential co-expressed mRNAs revealed that lncRNAs were widely co-expressed with metabolic process *** identified two hub lncRNA-mRNA networks that implicate lncRNAs associated with breast and prostate *** the second step,we implemented various machine learning-based prediction systems(Decision Tree,Random Forest,Deep Learning,and Gradient-Boosted Tree)on the non-transformed and Z-standardized differential co-expressed *** on five-fold cross-validation,we obtained high accuracy(91.11%),high sensitivity(88.33%),and high specificity(93.33%)in Deep Learning which reinforces the biomarker power of identified lncRNAs in this *** data originally came from different cell lines at different durations of herbal treatment intervention,we applied seven attribute weighting algorithms to check the effects of variables on identifying *** weighting results showed that the cell line and time had little or no effect on the selected lncRNAs ***,we identified one known lncRNAs,downregulated RNA in cancer(DRAIC),as an essential ***:This study will provide further insights to investigate the potential therapeutic and prognostic targets for prostate cancer(PC)and breast cancer(BC)in common.
