Background With increasing numbers of individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder(ASD)and with affirmation of applied behavior analysis(ABA)as an evidence-based standard of care for ASD,there has been a proliferation of agencies offering ABA services over the last several *** exists among ABA providers and health plans that reimburse those providers on the optimal number of hours of ABA services that should be *** study aims to understand whether children who receive more hours of ABA therapy achieve better outcomes and to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19-induced shift to telehealth clinical supervision on *** A retrospective cohort analysis was performed using data from the Vineland 3 Comprehensive Interview Form to assess function throughout ABA *** sample t tests,independent sample t tests,Cohen’s D,and Pearson correlations were used to determine relationships between Vineland scores and input variables including hours of service and modality of supervision(in-person ***).Results While statistically and clinically significant improvements in function were observed,children appear to have improved outcomes independent of the number of hours of service *** were also no significant associations between modality of supervision and Vineland standard *** These findings challenge prior research that demonstrated a linear dose–response *** tailoring treatment dosage to the individual client’s needs,providers may be able to better maximize functional progress of the client,to preserve family time,and to utilize health plan dollars more efficiently.

Emotion Judgment System by EEG Based on Concept Base of EEG Features

This paper proposes an emotion judgment system by using an electroencephalogram(EEG)feature concept base with premise of noises *** method references the word concept association system,which associates one word with other plural words and decides the relationship between several *** this proposed emotion judgment system,the source EEG is input and 42 EEG features are constructed by EEG data;the data are then calculated by spectrum analysis and *** 2945 EEG data of 4 emotions in the EEG data emotion knowledge base are calculated by the degree of association for getting the nearest EEG data from the EEG feature concept base constructed by 2844 *** the experiment,the accuracy of the proposed system was 55.9%,which was higher than the support vector machine(SVM)*** this result,the chain structured feature of the EEG feature concept base and the efficiency by the calculation of degree of association for EEG data help reduce the influence of the noise.

The problem of forced convection heat transfer of supercritical CO_(2) in a horizontal channel is investigated numerically by a lattice Boltzmann *** study is stimulated by our recent experimental findings on solar collectors using supercritical CO_(2) as a working fluid,which can achieve the collector efficiency high up to 70%.To deeply understand the heat transfer characteristics of supercritical CO_(2) and provide a theoretical guidance for improving our current experimental system,in present study several typical experimental flow conditions are *** particular,the work focuses on the convective heat transfer characteristics of supercritical CO_(2) flowing in a horizontal channel with mediate Reynolds numbers ranging from 210 to 840 and constant heat fluxes from 400.0 to 800.0 W/m^(2).The simulations show that the heat transfer increases with heat flux and decreases with Reynolds ***,the mechanisms of heat transfer enhancement of supercritical CO_(2) fluid are identified.

Isolated splenic vein thrombosis secondary to splenic metastasis: A case report

A 49-year-old, previously healthy woman sought treatment for abdominal pain. Colonoscopy revealed ascending colon cancer. Computed tomography and angiography showed splenic metastasis and thrombosis extending from the splenic vein to the portal vein. She underwent right hemicolectomy, splenectomy, and distal pancreatomy. Histological findings showed no malignant cell in the splenic vein which was filled with organizing thrombus. We postulate the mechanism of splenic vein thrombosis in our case to be secondary to the extrinsic compression of the splenic vein by the splenic metastasis or by the inflammatory process produced by the splenic metastasis. In conclusion, we suggest that splenic metastasis should be added to the list of differential diagnosis which causes splenic vein thrombosis. In the absence of other sites of neoplastic disease, splenectomy seems to be the preferred therapy because it can be performed with low morbidity and harbors the potential for long-term survival.

PURPOSE: To report the efficacy of electrolysis as a treatment of corneal opac ities in a young patient with the superficial variant of granular corneal dystro phy. DESIGN: Interventional case report. METHODS: An 11-year-old boy presented with subepithelial opacities in both eyes. His visual acuity was 0.2 in the lef t eye; he received corneal electrolysis under topical anesthesia. RESULTS: The e lectrolysis, which required only 5 minutes, resulted in the disappearance of the subepithelial opacities. His visual acuity improved to 0.4 on the next day and was 1.0 eight months later. The corneal curvature and thickness were not altered by the electrolysis. CONCLUSIONS: Corneal electrolysis proved to be an effectiv e treatment for subepithelial opacities, and we recommend electrolysis as an eff ective and simple treatment for young patients with SGCD.

Proposing a Method of Generating Association Words from Multiple Words Based on Association System

Humans communicate with others using natural language because many expressions in natural language can convey the same message, humans interpret these expressions flexibly based on their knowledge of words and association skills. An Association System was constructed on a computer by applying Concept Bases and the degree of association. This paper proposes a method of generating association word from multiple words based on Association System to show that it can achieve humanlike associative abilities on a computer. The proposed method generated a natural human association with 61.0% accuracy and 77.0% recall.

Emotion Judgment Method Using a Clustered EEG Feature Knowledge Base

For a robot to converse naturally with a human, it must be able to accurately gauge the emotional state of the person. Techniques for estimating emotions of a person from facial expressions, intonation and speech content have been proposed. This paper presents a technique for judging the emotion of a person using EEGs, differing from the data used to date. Accuracy of emotion judgment was 33.0%, which is still low, but we believe we obtained sufficient clues that will lead to improved accuracy, such as the validity of knowledge base clustering.

Inference of the Day Topic Word Using WWW Search Rankings for Computer Conversations

Recently, demand has arisen for robots that can converse naturally with human beings. To accomplish this, such robots should to be able to offer appropriate topics to the person engaging them in conversation. Thus, it would be useful if such robots had the ability to collect news of interest to that person, which could then be used to help conversations proceed more smoothly. This paper proposes a method of extracting Web search keywords of interest by gender, age and day of the week. In this study, the authors compiled Web search engine keywords based on rank using the Biglobe Search Shunkan Ranking system. However, such rankings cannot be used independently because the relevant words for a particular day will not be known until that day is over. Accordingly, their method uses Web search rankings compiled for the day prior to day in question to select keywords for use. Because of this, the method cannot determine keywords that appear on the actual day of the conversation. However, it can extract keywords that appear repeatedly in identifiable patterns, as well as topics of general interest to a certain age and gender. In their experiments, the authors experienced particularly good results by focusing on three concepts: keyword consolidation, forgetting factor and short-term and long-term memory.

The effectiveness of e-learning is being examined in higher education with the support of the advanced ICT (information and communication technology) and the educational policy research. However, e-learning is not steadily becoming popular due to a large number of processes for creating the e-learning contents, the e-learning cost problems and the public"s lack of understanding of the importance and necessity of e-learning. On the assumption that especially the students in regular day school programs will attend classes on campus, the authors can not explain completely the importance and necessity of e-learning only under the time and space advantages that the students can learn whenever and wherever they want. Hereafter, the authors will report the practical use of "Blended Learning" combining the WBT (web based training) and the face-to-face class that could be a solution to the above problem.
