Pregnancy is a unique immunologic and microbial condition that requires an adequate level of awareness to provide a fast and protective response against pathogens as well as to maintain a state of tolerance to paternal *** of inflammatory pathways in the placenta triggered by pathogens is one of the main factors responsible for pregnancy *** I IFNs are key molecules modulating immune responses at the level of the placenta and are crucial for protection of the pregnancy via their antiviral and immune modulatory *** this study,we elucidate the mechanisms controlling the basal expression of IFNβand its negative *** in vitro and in vivo animal models,we found that TLR signaling maintains basal IFNβlevels through the TLR4-MyD88-independent TBK/IRF3 signaling *** describe the role of the TAM receptor Axl in the regulation of IFNβfunction in human and mouse trophoblast *** absence of TAM receptors in vivo is associated with fetal demise due to dysregulation of IFNβexpression and its pro-apoptotic downstream ***,our data describe a feedback signaling pathway controlling the expression and function of IFNβin the trophoblast that is essential for an effective response during viral and microbial infections.

The content analysis of radioactive waste and radiation dose evaluation is considered as one of the important factors in the reactor facility *** kind of buildings consists of the concrete for the most part and uses it as the structure and shield of the ***,the concrete has impurities such as cobalt,europium,nickel,and cesium with specific content depending on the production method or manufacturing *** radioactive nuclides generated from the fundamental components of concrete are considered that it is less contributed to the radiation dose because they are beta decay nuclides in ***,impurities of irradiated concrete in the reactor facilities,are considered occasionally an important evaluation factor for induced *** this study,the influence on the activation of impurities in concrete was evaluated from the radiation dose and induced activity *** calculation was evaluated at the bio-shield which is one of the areas with the highest neutron irradiation among the concrete structure in the reactor *** results show that radioactive nuclides with gamma decay were produced in these ***,the radiation dose of concrete with impurities was higher than concrete without *** increased radiation dose was quantified through the content of impurities.

The Precursor Phase of an X-class Flare: Magnetic Reconnection, Powering and Non-thermal Electrons

In this paper,we report three interesting phenomena that occurred during the precursor phase of the X1.6 class flare on 2014 September 10.(1) The magnetic reconnection initiating the flare occurs between one of the two J-shaped magnetic flux ropes that constitute a sigmoidal structure and the overlying sheared magnetic arcade that runs across the sigmoid over its middle *** reconnection formed an erupting structure that ultimately leads to flare *** J-shaped magnetic flux rope remains unaffected during the whole *** phenomenon is revealed by the observation made by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly on board the Solar Dynamic Observatory(SDO)at 94 and 131 A.(2) Being simultaneously with starting time of the precursor,photospheric vertical electric current(VEC) around the footpoint region of the overlying magnetic arcade underwent an obvious increase,as observed by the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager(HMI) on board *** only taking into account the VEC with current density over 3σ value(1σ:10 mA m^(-2)),we are able to pick out precursor-associated VEC increase starting from nearly the level of *** regard it as a kind of powering process for the magnetic reconnection between the two magnetic loops.(3) With high-resolution narrow-band Helium 10830 A images taken by Goode Solar Telescope at Big Bear Solar Observatory(BBSO),we observe a narrow absorption(dark) front that runs along the erupting magnetic structure(or the erupting hot channel) and moves in the direction of the eruption during the precursor *** the excitation mechanism of Helium atoms along the absorption front by non-thermal electrons,the phenomenon shows that the interaction between the erupted hot channel and the overlying(or surrounding)magnetic field has yielded electron acceleration.

L-ascorbic acid and its derivatives have attracted considerable attention in recent years for preventing oxidative stress related *** of L-ascorbic acid via esterification or transesterification with aliphatic molecules,such as fatty acids,is a useful way to alter solubility in oil-based formulae and emulsion.L-ascorbyl derivatives such as L-ascorbyl laurate and L-ascorbyl palmitate were synthesized using immobilized *** fatty acid have more beneficial effects on human than saturated fatty *** an alternative substitute of saturated fatty acid,more attention is being focused on the synthesis of unsaturated fatty acid ester of L-ascorbic acid,such as L-ascorbyl oleate and L-ascorbyl linoleate.L-Ascorbyl oleate and L-ascorbyl linoleate were successfully prepared by enzymatic esterification and transesterification in a non-aqueous medium using immobilized lipase as *** in enzymatic activity and product yield were studied for the following variable:solvent,the nature of the fatty acid,the fatty acid concentration,water *** kinetic model was discussed and the result showed that the reaction could be described by ping-pong *** parameters values of V’ and K’ were *** product maximum yield(42.9%) in the transesterification was higher than that of the esterification(21.2%)at substrate concentration 0.11 ***,the presence of water and methanol byproduct limited the reaction to shift towards the *** improve the synthesis yield,the means of removing water and methanol byproduct has been taken into account,and designed a reactor for elimination of water and methanol byproduct.A single purification procedure enabled the product to be obtained at purity above 93%(w/w).Structure analysis later demonstrated that linoleic acid was exclusively incorporated into the L-ascorbic acid *** study of protective effects on human umbilical cord vein endothelial cells(ECV-304) treated with HO

In recent years, research on biopolymer based-coating containing natural antimicrobial agents is developing significantly. The objective of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial efficiency of six formulations containing pre-selected natural antimicrobial compounds against Listeria monocytogenes, Escherichia coli O 157：H7, Salmonella typhimurium, the total bacteria and total yeasts and molds in cauliflower. Each formulation was subjected to a sensory test in parallel to microbiological analysis and the efficiency during storage at 5 ℃ was evaluated for the two best formulations, based on their ability to eliminate the target microorganisms. Both formulations were able to reduce all pathogens and total flora below detectable levels after 24 h of storage at 5 ℃. Using washing or spraying treatments, the two formulations were able to reduce Listeria to undetectable levels for 3 d. This efficiency was extended to 7 d when the formulations were incorporated into an edible coating. Washing treatment with the two formulations was also able to limit the growth of yeast and molds at levels lower than 2 log, for more than 7 d. The population of E. coli was reduced to below the detection limit during 14 d of storage, after washing treatment with the two formulations. The spraying treatment of cauliflower with the formulations allowed the use of very small amounts of antimicrobials while maintaining a fairly good efficiency, greatly reducing the potential costs of implementing this method in the industry. Future research may focus on development of nanoemulsion of antimicrobial formulations based on the developed antimicrobial formulations in this study to improve the better coating efficiency.

Seasonal tropical cyclone(TC)forecasting has evolved substantially since its commencement in the early ***,present operational seasonal TC forecasting services still do not meet the requirements of society and stakeholders:current operational products are mainly basin-scale information,while more detailed sub-basin scale information such as potential risks of TC landfall is anticipated for decision *** fill this gap and make the TC science and services move forward,this paper reviews recent research and development in seasonal tropical cyclone(TC)*** particular,this paper features new research topics on seasonal TC predictability in neutral conditions of El Ni˜no–Southern Oscillation(ENSO),emerging forecasting techniques of seasonal TC activity including Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence,and multi-annual TC *** also review the skill of forecast systems at predicting landfalling statistics for certain regions of the North Atlantic,Western North Pacific and South Indian oceans and discuss the gap that remains between current products and potential user's *** knowledge and advanced forecasting techniques are expected to further enhance the capability of seasonal TC forecasting and lead to more actionable and fit-for-purpose products.
