Sodium butyrate(NaB)can regulate lipid metabolism and inhibit hepatic *** study aimed to investigate whether NaB can alleviate fructose-induced hepat ic steatosis via remodeling the gut microbiota and evaluate the anti-fatty liver *** results showed that NaB and NaB-remodeled gut microbiota significantly alleviated fructose-induced hepatic steatosis and increased plasma uric acid and fructose ***,both NaB and NaB-remodeled gut microbiota increased the abundance of Lactobacillus and altered the levels of plasma amino acids(upregulating gamma-amino butyric acid(GABA)and downregulating L-glutamic acid and L-arginine)in fructose-exposed *** correlation analysis showed that GABA levels positively correlated with Lactobacillus abundance,and increased GABA levels might promote the reduction of the hepatic triglyceride *** studies confirmed that GABA significantly reduced lipid deposition in mouse hepatocytes induced via fructose pretreatment in *** findings suggested that NaB could ameliorate fructose-induced hepatic steatosis by regulating gut microbiota.

Viable but non-culturable （VBNC） bacteria after chlorination disinfection pose a considerable threat to the public health and environment. The current work aimed to uncover the stress adaptation mechanisms of VBNC S. Enteritidis to sodium hypochlorite. In this study， we investigated the morphology， gene expressions and proteomic profile in VBNC S. Enteritidis. It demonstrated that 109cells mL-1of bacteria could transition into the VBNC state after exposure to 50 mg L-1chlorine for 2.5 h. The VBNC state cells exhibited cellular membrane impairment， decreased size， and intracellular ATP depletion compared to the culturable cells. In the VBNC state cells， there was a significant increase in intracellular reactive oxygen species （ROS） levels and NAD+/NADH ratios. This observation suggested an imbalance in the intracellular redox status of the VBNC bacteria. Transcriptome and proteomic analysis revealed significant upregulation of the resistance-nodulation-division （RND） efflux systems （arcA， tolC， ramA）， oxidative stress response genes （soxR， trxA， grxB）， DNA repair genes （lexA， radA， mutH， mutL）， and virulence factor genes （sseA， sseL， eutS， and eutN）. Our findings indicated that it is important to formulate disinfection protocols that are specifically designed for food processing plants and healthcare facilities， focusing on implementing a more thorough disinfection method to effectively eradicate VBNC cells.

Carbendazim,a widely used fungicide in China,has been found to have reproductive toxicity and mutagenic ***,information on the spatial-temporal variations of carbendazim residues in food in China is ***,we investigated the presence of carbendazim in China's plant-based foods from 2011 to 2020,evaluated the spatial-temporal characteristics,and assessed the associated exposure risks in the Chinese *** results revealed a high detection frequency of carbendazim in fruits(26.4%)and high concentrations in vegetables(~110 mg kg^(-1)),indicating widespread misuse of the *** acute risks of consuming certain vegetables and cereals exceeded the recommended limits by up to 12 and 5 times,*** there has been a decline in carbendazim residue levels in food since the implementation of the Chinese government's action plan for zero growth of pesticide use in 2015,some provinces still exhibited high levels of carbendazim in multiple food categories,which were positively correlated with annual pesticide *** highlight that carbendazim contamination reflects the broader issue of pesticide use in *** emphasizes the need for committed and targeted national policies to reduce carbendazim residues in food and suggests that such measures could also regulate the use of other pesticides,given that pesticide abuse in China is not limited to specific *** call for the re-evaluation of maximum residue limits of carbendazim,particularly in highly consumed foods such as cereals.

Peach are a fruit with high nutritional and economic value， but their safety and suitability for diabetic patients have been questioned. This study investigated the effects and potential mechanisms of peach pulp (PP) on type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in mice induced by a high-fat diet (HFD) combined with streptozotocin (STZ). The results showed that PP alleviated hyperglycemia， hyperlipidemia， hyperuricemia， and tissue dysfunction in T2DM mice through the synergistic effect of nutrients and non-nutrient compounds. Analysis of mRNA expression levels revealed that PP improved glucose metabolism in T2DM mice by promoting glycogen synthesis and inhibiting gluconeogenesis. Furthermore， elevated levels of PP resulted in an increase in acetic acid content following a 4 weeks intervention period. Additionally， it led to the restoration of gut microbiota balance by decreasing the Firmicutes/Bacteroidota (F/B) ratio and enhancing the presence of Romboutsia， Allobaculum， Alloprevotella， and Bacteroides after an 8 weeks intervention. Ultimately， our results suggest that PP may offer advantages for individuals with diabetes.

This study was aimed to investigate the effects of dietary calcitriol or quercetin supplementation on eggshell and bone quality of laying *** trial 1,72 Hy-Line Brown layers(80-week-old)with weak-shelled strength(25 to 30 N)were assigned into 4 dietary treatments with 6 replicates of 3 birds and fed a basal diet(4%calcium level)or basal diets supplemented with 0.5%calcium,5μg/kg calcitriol or 500 mg/kg quercetin for 4 *** trial 2,360 Hy-Line Brown layers(60-week-old)were divided into 3 groups with 8 replicates of 15 birds:control group(basal diet),calcitriol group(basal diet+5μg/kg calcitriol),and quercetin group(basal diet+500 mg/kg quercetin).This trial lasted for 12 *** results showed that dietary calcitriol or quercetin improved eggshell quality in both trials(Pquality,calcium retention of hens and calcium content in uterine fluid at 18.5 h post-oviposition(PO)(P<0.05),along with enhancing uterine *** to the control group,supplemental calcitriol or quercetin up-regulated the relative mRNA expression levels of uterine transient receptor potential cation channel,subfamily V,member 6(TRPV6)at 8.5 h PO and plasma membrane calcium-ATPase(PMCA),vitamin D receptor(VDR),estrogen receptor alpha(ERα)at 18.5 h PO(P<0.05),but down-regulated the uterine caspase 3(CASP3)relative mRNA expression level at 8.5 h PO(P<0.05).Meanwhile,the femoral relative mRNA expression levels of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase(TRAP)(up-regulated at 8.5 and 18.5 h PO)and alkaline phosphatase(ALP)(up-regulated at 8.5 h PO but down-regulated at 18.5 h PO)were also affected by calcitriol or quercetin supplementation(P<0.05).Compared to the calcitriol,quercetin increased hen-day egg production and femoral medullary bone volume/bone tissue volume but reduced femoral stiffness(P<0.05),which were accompanied by increased relative mRNA expression levels

Stirred reactors are key equipment in production,and unpredictable failures will result in significant economic losses and safety ***,it is necessary to monitor its health *** achieve this goal,in this study,five states of the stirred reactor were firstly preset:normal,shaft bending,blade eccentricity,bearing wear,and bolt *** signals along x,y and z axes were collected and analyzed in both the time domain and frequency ***,93 statistical features were extracted and evaluated by ReliefF,Maximal Information Coefficient(MIC)and *** above evaluation results were then fused by D-S evidence theory to extract the final 16 features that are most relevant to the state of the stirred ***,the CatBoost algorithm was introduced to establish the stirred reactor health monitoring *** validation results showed that the model achieves 100%accuracy in detecting the fault/normal state of the stirred reactor and 98%accuracy in diagnosing the type of fault.

The galactomannan from Antrodia cinnamomea(AC)is characterized as one of the important bioactive components that exhibits potential immunostimulatory *** biological function of its corresponding oligosaccharide fragments has not been revealed *** this study,we reported the first chemical synthesis of the series of oligosaccharide fragments related to AC galactomannan via the convergent glycosylation *** preliminary immunological evaluation of these synthesized AC oligosaccharides disclosed that the backbone tetrasaccharide 1d showed the best immunomodulatory ability on enhancing proliferation,phagocytosis and cytokines secretion of Raw264.7 macrophages in vitro,indicating its immense potential as an immunostimulant candidate.

Copper intercalated birnessite MnO_(2)(δ-MnO_(2))with weak crystallinity and high specific surface area(421 m^(2)/g)was synthesized by a one-pot redox method and investigated for low-temperature CO *** molar ratio of Cu/Mn was as high as 0.37,which greatly weakened the Mn-O bond and created a lot of low-temperature active oxygen *** situ DRIFTS revealed strong bonding of copper ions with ***-synthesized MnO_(2)-150Cu achieved 100%conversion of 250 ppm CO in normal air(3.1 ppm H_(2)O)even at−10°C under the weight-hourly space velocity(WHSV)of 150 L/(g·h).In addition,it showed high oxygen storage capacity to oxidize CO in inert *** the concurrent moisture in air significantly inhibited CO adsorption and its conversion at ambient temperature,MnO_(2)-150Cu could stably convert CO in 1.3%moisture air at 70°C owing to its great low-temperature activity and reduced competitive adsorption of water with increased *** study discovers the excellent low-temperature activity of weakly crystallized δ-MnO_(2) induced by high content intercalated copper ions.
