Immunodiagnostic efficacy of detection of Schistosoma japonicum human infections in China:a meta analysis

Objective:To assess the diagnostic efficacy of the currently most widely used indirect hemagglutination assay(IHA) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) for detection of Schistosoma japonicum human ***:A comprehensive search was undertaken from China national Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang *** Database,PubMed. Cochrane Library,Science Citation Index ***,and the inclusion and exclusion criteria were strictly *** funnel plot was used to assess the publication ***’s Q test was employed to measure the homogeneity between studies,a summary receiver operating characteristic(SROC) curve was used to compare the diagnostic accuracy between the IHA and ELISA qualitatively by means of the Weighted Least Square method,the Ordinary Least Square method and the Robust regression method,and the diagnostic odds ratio(DOR) was drawn to compare the accuracy ***:Out of 785 publications,19 papers were eventually selected for *** finality assessment indicated that minor publication bias existed in studies pertaining IHA test,but no bias was found in literatures regarding ELISA *** heterogeneity test showed a heterogeneity between studies was present(χ~2 =466.07 and 34.67. both P values<0.0001).The areas under the SROC curves of IHA were all higher than that of ELISA test using the three methods(Weighted Least Square method:0.766 *** Least Square method:0.826 *** regression:0.815 vs.0.715).The TPR* values for IHA and EUSA were *** 0.650.0.686 and ***,and OR values were *** 3.432.4.784 and *** DOR of IHA was 9.41(95% CI:4.88-18.18).and 4.78(95%CI:3.21-7.13) for ***:All above results revealed that the diagnostic performance of IHA is better than that of ***,taking into account their unsatisfactory diagnostic value in areas with low infection intensity,a search for a b

Many viruses can cause respiratory diseases in *** great advances have been achieved in methods of diagnosis,it remains challenging to identify pathogens in unexplained pneumonia(UP) *** this study,we applied next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology and a metagenomic approach to detect and characterize respiratory viruses in UP cases from Guizhou Province,China.A total of 33 oropharyngeal swabs were obtained from hospitalized UP patients and subjected to *** unbiased metagenomic analysis pipeline identified 13 virus species in 16 *** rhinovirus C was the virus most frequently detected and was identified in seven *** measles virus,adenovirus B 55 and coxsackievirus A10 were also *** sequencing also provided virus genomic sequences,which enabled genotype characterization and phylogenetic *** cases of multiple infection,metagenomic sequencing afforded information regarding the quantity of each virus in the sample,which could be used to evaluate each viruses' role in the *** study highlights the potential of metagenomic sequencing for pathogen identification in UP cases.

The title compound 4-chloro-2-（morpholine-4-carbonyl）phenyl-4＇-methoxybenzoate（C19H18ClNO5, Mr = 375.79）, a 5-chlorosalicylic acid derivative incorporating morpholine moiety, was conveniently synthesized through two steps and crystallized in the monoclinic space group P21/c with a = 7.8501（10）, b = 9.3149（12）, c = 25.133（3）, V = 1836.2（4）3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.359 Mg/m^3, λ = 0.71073, μ（MoKα） = 0.237 mm^-1, F（000） = 784, R = 0.0447 and wR = 0.1227 for 3982 independent reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. The dihedral angles formed between 4-methoxybenzene and 5-chlorobenzene rings, the 5-chlorobenzene and morpholine, and 4-methoxybenzene and morpholine rings are 82.55（3）, 72.56（5） and 47.68（0）° by X-ray analysis, respectively. Bioassay shows that the title compound has a good molluscidal effect.

Prevalence of HIV Indeterminate Western Blot Tests and Follow-up of HIV Antibody Sero-Conversion in Southeastern China

HIV-indeterminate Western blotting(WB)results are typically obtained in WB confirmatory assays,and the number of indeterminate samples may increase with the detection of HIV infections,which will present considerable challenges for the management of HIV/*** acid detection has been used as a laboratory test for screening suspected or indeterminate ***,the effectiveness of these assays for the differential diagnosis of HIV-indeterminate WB samples remained *** this study,210 subjects with HIV-indeterminate WB results were detected from 6360 positive HIV screening samples between 2015 and 2016 in southeastern China,in which HIV-indeterminate WB results accounted for 3.30%.The highest proportion of indeterminate results was observed in pregnant and lying-in women receiving physical examinations(16.67%),followed by that in voluntary blood donors(8.82%).The most common WB band patterns were p24,gpl60 and p24,and *** follow-up study revealed that the highest negative and positive conversion rates of HIV antibodies were in samples with a single p24 band(80.28%),and with gpl60 and p24 bands(86.21%),*** the Env,Gag,and Pol antibodies,samples with a Gag band showed the highest negative conversion rate(81.25%),whereas the highest positive conversion rate was observed in samples with an Env band(56.76%).In addition,quantitative and qualitative HIV nucleic acid testing exhibited the highest sensitivity(96.3%)and specificity(97.85%),*** results indicate a lower proportion of HIV indeterminate WB results in southeastern China compared to previous reports,and the follow-up re-examination of patients with HIV indeterminate results should be *** acid testing facilitates the identification of HIV infections.
