In this paper,Me （Me=Cr,Zr） and N co-doped diamond like carbon （DLC-MeN） composite films were prepared on cemented carbide substrates by pulsed bias arc ion plating.The effect of nitrogen flow rates on the microstructure and properties of the films were investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）,Raman spectra,grazing incident X-ray diffraction （GIXRD）,high resolution transmission electron microscopy （HRTEM） and nano-indentation.Raman,GIXRD and HRTEM results show that the deposited films are nanocomposite films with MeN nanocrystalline phase embedded within DLC amorphous matrix,which are vital for the mechanical properties of the films.The nitrogen flow rate has significant effect on the compositions and structures and hence on the hardness and elastic modulus of the films,and increasing nitrogen flow rate decreases drastically the hardness and elastic modulus of the films.

Non-penetration laser welding of lap joints in austenitic stainless steel sheets is commonly preferred in fields where the surface quality is of utmost importance.However,the application of non-penetration welded austenitic stainless steel parts is limited owing to the micro bulging distortion that occurs on the back surface of the partial penetration side.In this paper,non-penetration lap laser welding experiments,were conducted on galvanized and SUS304 austenitic stainless steel plates using a fiber laser,to investigate the mechanism of bulging distortion.A comparative experiment of DC01 galvanized steel-Q235 carbon steel lap laser welding was carried out,and the deflection and distortion profile of partially penetrated side of the sheets were measured using a noncontact laser interferometer.In addition,the cold-rolled SUS304 was subjected to heat holding at different temperatures and water quenching after bending to characterize its microstructure under tensile and compressive stress.The results show that,during the heating stage of the thermal cycle of laser lap welding,the partial penetration side of the SUS304 steel sheet generates compressive stress,which extrudes the material in the heat-affected zone to the outside of the back of the SUS304 steel sheet,thereby forming a bulge.The findings of these experiments can be of great value for controlling the distortion of the partial penetrated side of austenitic stainless steel sheet during laser non-penetration lap welding.

The demand for highly porous yet transparent aerogels with mechanical flexibility and solar-thermal dual-regulation for energy-saving windows is significant but challenging.Herein,a delaminated aerogel film(DAF)is fabricated through filtration-induced delaminated gelation and ambient drying.The delaminated gelation process involves the assembly of fluorinated cellulose nanofiber(FCNF)at the solid-liquid interface between the filter and the filtrate during filtration,resulting in the formation of lamellar FCNF hydrogels with strong intra-plane and weak interlayer hydrogen bonding.By exchanging the solvents from water to hexane,the hydrogen bonding in the FCNF hydrogel is further enhanced,enabling the formation of the DAF with intra-layer mesopores upon ambient drying.The resulting aerogel film is lightweight and ultra-flexible,which pos-sesses desirable properties of high visible-light transmittance(91.0%),low thermal conductivity(33 mW m^(-1) K^(-1)),and high atmospheric-window emissivity(90.1%).Furthermore,the DAF exhibits reduced surface energy and exceptional hydrophobicity due to the presence of fluorine-containing groups,enhancing its durability and UV resistance.Consequently,the DAF has demonstrated its potential as solar-thermal regulatory cooling window materials capable of simultaneously providing indoor lighting,thermal insulation,and daytime radiative cooling under direct sunlight.Significantly,the enclosed space protected by the DAF exhibits a temperature reduction of 2.6℃ compared to that shielded by conventional architectural glass.

Passive daytime radiative cooling(PDRC)is an innovative and sustainable cooling technology that holds immense potential for addressing the energy crisis.Despite the numerous reports on radiative coolers,the design of a straightforward,efficient,and readily producible system remains a challenge.Herein,we present the development of a hierarchical aligned porous poly(vinylidene fluoride)(HAP-PVDF)film through a freeze-thaw-promoted nonsolvent-induced phase separation strategy.This film features oriented microporous arrays in conjunction with random nanopores,enabling efficient radiative cooling performance under direct sunlight conditions.The incorporation of both micro-and nano-pores in the HAP-PVDF film results in a remarkable solar reflectance of 97%and a sufficiently high infrared thermal emissivity of 96%,facilitating sub-environmental cooling at 18.3℃ on sunny days and 13.1℃ on cloudy days.Additionally,the HAP-PVDF film also exhibits exceptional flexibility and hydrophobicity.Theoretical calculations further confirm a radiative cooling power of 94.8 W·m^(-2)under a solar intensity of 1000W·m^(-2),demonstrating a performance comparable to the majority of reported radiative coolers.

Defect-modulated synthesis and optoelectronic properties in chemical vapor deposited CsPbBr_(3) microplates

The remarkable optoelectronic features of halide perovskite promote their potential applications in semiconductor devices beyond solar cells,which require high-quality single crystals with controlled defect levels.Herein,we investigated the synthesis mechanism of chemical vapor deposited single-crystalline all-inorganic perovskite microplates(MPs),and reported a defect-modulated photocurrent which is closely related to the growth sequence of the MPs.The MP synthesis initiates from island-like nano-disks,and subsequently transits to a layer-by-layer fashion,resulting in a defect-rich area at the center of the MPs.At elevated temperatures,these central defects may be thermally activated and become highly mobile,leading to photoluminescence quenching and degression of local and overall optoelectronic attributes,as evidenced by the spatial resolved optical and electrical scanning probe microscopy.Overall,this work shines light on the formation,proliferation and dynamics of defects in perovskites,and offers guidance for preparation of high-quality perovskites micro-crystals for functional semiconductor devices with high temperature stability.

A numerical study of the diamagnetic drift effect on the nonlinear interaction between multi-helicity neoclassical tearing modes(NTMs) is carried out using a set of four-field equations including two-fluid effects.The results show that,in contrast to the single-fluid case,5/3 NTM cannot be completely suppressed by 3/2 NTM with diamagnetic drift flow.Both modes exhibit oscillation and coexist in the saturated phase.To better understand the effect of the diamagnetic drift flow on multiple-helicity NTMs,the influence of typical relevant parameters is investigated.It is found that the average saturated magnetic island width increases with increasing bootstrap current fraction f_(b) but decreases with the ion skin depth δ.In addition,as the ratio of parallel to perpendicular transport coefficients χ_(‖)/χ_(⊥) increases,the average saturated magnetic island widths of the 3/2 and 5/3 NTMs increase.The underlying mechanisms behind these observations are discussed in detail.

In this paper,high-energy Ne ions were used to irradiate Zr_(63.5)Cu_(23)Al_(9)Fe_(4.5) metallic glass(MG)and crystalline W to investigate their difference in mechanical response after irradiation.The results showed that with the irradiation dose increased,the tensile micro-strain increased,nano-hardness increased from 7.11 GPa to 7.90 GPa and 8.62 GPa,Young’s modulus increased,and H3/E2 increased which indicating that the plastic deformability decreased in crystalline W.Under the same irradiation conditions,the Zr_(63.5)Cu_(23)Al_(9)Fe_(4.5) MG still maintained the amorphous structure and became more disordered despite the longer range and stronger displacement damage of Ne ions in Zr_(63.5)Cu_(23)Al_(9)Fe_(4.5) MG than in crystalline W.Unlike the irradiation hardening and embrittlement behavior of crystalline W,Zr_(63.5)Cu_(23)Al_(9)Fe_(4.5) MG showed the gradual decrease in hardness from 6.02 GPa to 5.89 GPa and 5.50 GPa,the decrease in modulus and the increase in plastic deformability with the increasing dose.Possibly,the irradiation softening and toughening phenomenon of Zr_(63.5)Cu_(23)Al_(9)Fe_(4.5) MG could provide new ideas for the design of nuclear materials.

A novel emissive probe consisting of an oxide cathode coating is developed to achieve a low operating temperature and long service life.The properties of the novel emissive probe are investigated in detail,in comparison with a traditional tungsten emissive probe,including the operating temperature,the electron emission capability and the plasma potential measurement.Studies of the operating temperature and electron emission capability show that the tungsten emissive probe usually works at a temperature of 1800 K-2200 K while the oxide cathode emissive probe can function at about 1200 K-1400 K.In addition,plasma potential measurements using the oxide cathode emissive probe with different techniques have been accomplished in microwave electron cyclotron resonance plasmas with different discharge powers.It is found that a reliable plasma potential can be obtained using the improved inflection point method and the hot probe with zero emission limit method,while the floating point method is invalid for the oxide cathode emissive probe.

Oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is the imperative reaction for many energy storage and conversion devices such as recharge-able metal-air batteries and electrochemical water splitting[1].OER is a complex 4-electron process with sluggish kinetics and therefore requires electrocatalysts to overcome the high overpo-tential.Ruthenium oxide(RuO_(2))and iridium oxide(IrO_(2))catalysts can promote the OER process remarkably[2-4],however,their ex-tremely high cost,natural scarcity,and long-term instability con-strain their scale-up application in clean-energy technologies[5,6].It is crucial to develop inexpensive,highly efficient,and durable electrocatalysts for OER.
