Intensive land use( ILU) policies affect the demand and supply of land. These policies promote efficient land use, and demands for land must therefore be evaluated in terms of the level of land-use intensity. If the demand is considered excessive, ILU policies act like a "valve"to restrict the land supply. Drawing on data from Chengdu,China,where developable land is scarce,we construct a model using system dynamics( SD) to simulate two scenarios: ILU development and non-ILU development. The results show that when ILU leads to positive land-use efficiency,land supply will exceed demand,resulting in an appropriate level of real demand for the current population level and GDP. Thus,artificial demand( inflated by investors) is reduced. By contrast,when non-ILU leads to negative land-use efficiency,land demand will exceed supply. In this scenario,artificial demand is higher than real demand.

In recent years, sedimentation conditions in Dongting Lake have varied greatly because of signifi cant changes in runoff and sediment load in the Changjiang(Yangtze) River following the construction of Three Gorges Dam. The topography of the lake bottom has changed rapidly because of the intense exchange of water and sediment between the lake and the Changjiang River. However, time series information on lake-bottom topographic change is lacking. In this study, we introduced a method that combines remote sensing data and in situ water level data to extract a record of Dongting Lake bottom topography from 2003 to 2011. Multi-temporal lake land/water boundaries were extracted from MODIS images using the linear spectral mixture model method. The elevation of water/land boundary points were calculated using water level data and spatial interpolation techniques. Digital elevation models of Dongting Lake bottom topography in different periods were then constructed with the multiple heighted waterlines. The mean root-mean-square error of the linear spectral mixture model was 0.036, and the mean predicted error for elevation interpolation was-0.19 m. Compared with fi eld measurement data and sediment load data, the method has proven to be most applicable. The results show that the topography of the bottom of Dongting Lake has exhibited uneven erosion and deposition in terms of time and space over the last nine years. Moreover, lake-bottom topography has undergone a slight erosion trend within this period, with 58.2% and 41.8% of the lake-bottom area being eroded and deposited, respectively.

Objective This study aimed to evaluate the epidemiological,clinical and mycological characteristics of invasive candidiasis(IC)in *** A ten-year retrospective study including 183 IC episodes was conducted in a tertiary hospital in Beijing,*** The overall incidence of IC from 2010–2019 was 0.261 episodes per 1,000 ***(71.0%)was the major infective pattern;70.3%of the patients tested positive for Candida *** before IC and the median time to develop an invasive infection after colonization was13.5 days(interquartile range:4.5–37.0 days).Candida albicans(45.8%)was the most prevalent species,followed by Candida parapsilosis(19.5%),Candida glabrata(14.2%)and Candida tropicalis(13.7%).***-albicans IC was more common in patients with severe anemia(P=0.018),long-term hospitalization(P=0.015),hematologic malignancies(P=0.002),continuous administration of broad-spectrum antibiotics(P<0.001)and mechanical ventilation(P=0.012).In vitro resistance testing showed that11.0%of the Candida isolates were resistant/non-wild type(non-WT)to fluconazole,followed by voriconazole(9.6%),micafungin(3.8%),and caspofungin(2.9%).Fluconazole was the most commonly used drug to initiate antifungal therapy both before and after the proven diagnosis(52.6%and 54.6%,respectively).The 30-day and 90-day all-cause mortality rates were 24.5%and 32.7%,*** The incidence of IC has declined in the recent five ***-albicans contributed to more than half of the IC *** can be used as first-line therapy if resistant strains are not ***,multi-center surveillance of the clinical and mycological characteristics of IC is required.

Reaction mechanism of fluoride conversion into BF^(4-) during sulphuric acid leaching of roasted bastnaesite

The bastnaesite used in hydrometallurgy usually contains 7%-11% fluorine,and the conversion of fluorine into high-value products is the key to achieving green production of rare earths and improving the comprehensive utilization of *** order to recover fluorine from bastnaesite in the form of KBF4,the mechanism of F^(-)conversion to BF^(4-)in sulphuric acid leaching solution of roasted bastnaesite was studied by using Eh-pH diagram and simulation *** shows that the formation of BF^(4-)is affected by pH in the absence of rare ***^(4-)is hydrolyzed to BF3 OH-and F-when the pH is greater than 3.9,and part of F-exists as HF^(2-)when pH is lower than *** the presence of La^(3+),the formation of BF^(4-)is mainly affected by LaF_(3) when pH is greater than 0,and in the case that the pH is lower than 2,it is mainly affected by HF^(2-).When Ce4+is present in solution,CeF_(2)^(2+) can exist stably in sulphuric acid *** down the pH can reduce the stability of CeF_(2)^(2+) and increase the BF^(4-)conversion *** on these results,KBF4 was prepared in the alkaline solution of bastnaesite,and the conversion of BF^(4-)is 84.31%.This provides a theoretical basis for the recovery of fluorine from bastnaesite in the form of KBF_(4).

A Pt/γ-Al2O3-C heterogeneous catalyst with improved catalytic performance was successfully prepared. Bayberry talmin（BT）, an abundant natural plant polyphenol, was utilized to modifiy the surface of the Pt/γ-Al2O3 matrix and then stabilize Pt nanoparticles（NPs）. The catalyst was systematically and specifically characterized by a collec- tion of analytic tools including XRD, XPS, FTIR, TEM, and TG. It was found that the Pt NPs were envenly dispered on the γ-Al2O3-C matrix. Meanwhile, when the catalyst was applied for selective hydrogenation of cilmamalde- hyde（CMA） in the presence of KOH promoter in solvent, excellent catalytic performance was obtained. The selecti- vity to cinnamyl alcohol（CMO） reached 97.88% with 88.45% CMA conversion within 30 min in the presence of 0.037 mol/L KOH, without significant loss of catalytic activity even under cyclic measurements for 5 times. The excelleut catalytic performances should be ascribed predominantly to the uniform and stable dispersion ofPt NPs on the γ-Al2O3-C matrix and the excellent heat stability of BT.

Mixing state of individual carbonaceous particles during a severe haze episode in January 2013,Nanjing,China

Chemical composition, hourly counts, and sizes of atmospheric carbonaceous particles were measured to investigate their mixing state on clear and hazy days. 823,122 carbonaceous particles with sizes 0.2-2.0μm was analyzed using a single-particle aerosol mass spectrometer from 1st to 17th January 2013. Particle types included biomass/biofuel burning particles （biomass）, element carbon （EC-dominant） particles that were also mixed with biomass/biofuel burning species （EC-biomass） or secondary species （EC-secondary）, organic carbon （OC）, internally mixed OC and EC （OCEC）, ammonium-containing （ammo- nium） and sodium-containing （sodium） particles. On clear days the top ranked carbonaceous particle types were biomass （48.2%）, EC-biomass （15.7%）, OCEC （11.1%）, and sodium （9.6%）, while on hazy days they were biomass （37.3%）, EC-biomass （17,6%）, EC-secondary （16.6%）, and sodium （12.7%）. The fractions of EC-secondary, ammonium （10%）, and sodium particle types were elevated on hazy days. Numbers of EC-secondary particles were more than four times those on clear days （4.1%）. Thus, carbonaceous particles mixed with ammonium, nitrate and sulfate during aging and transport, enhancing their light extinction effects and hygroscopic growth under high relative humidity on hazy days, further reducing visibility. Our real-time single-particle data showed that changes to mixing state had a significant impact on light extinction during haze events in Nanjing.

Prussian blue nanoparticles (PB NPs) have exhibited favorable anti-inflammatory effects in animal models,and have been proved to mimic three antioxidant enzymes: peroxidase,catalase,and superoxide *** the oxidase-like activity of PB NPs has not been *** this work,PB NPs with outstanding oxidase-like activity were demonstrated by virtue of the colorimetric substrate o-phenylenediamine (OPD).Interestingly,based on the oxidase-like activity,PB NPs can also catalytically oxidize vitamin B1 (VB1) to strongly fluorescent product in the physiological environment without the addition of other *** that VB1 has no toxicity and carcinogenicity comparing with OPD,a novel PB NPs-VB1 fluorescent sensor was further developed for simple,nontoxic,and rapid detection of ascorbic acid (AA) in foods and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in human serum samples by taking advantage of the reduction of PB NPs to Prussian White by AA or enzymatic hydrolysate of ALP and ascorbic acid 2-phosphate (AA2P);leading to the decrease of fluorescence *** extremely low detection limits of 44 nmol/L for AA and 72 mU/L for ALP as well as the excellent applicability in real samples were both ***,we envision that such a novel fluorescent probe would be potentially applied in the food analysis and clinic diagnosis fields.

Understanding the Relationship Between Shrinking Cities and Land Prices:Spatial Pattern,Effectiveness,and Policy Implications

Urban shrinkage has emerged as a widespread phenomenon globally and has a significant impact on land,particularly in terms of land use and *** study focuses on 2851 county-level cities in China in 2005–2018(excluding Hong Kong,Macao,Taiwan,and‘no data’areas in Qinhai-Tibet Plateau)as the fundamental units of *** employing nighttime light(NTL)data to identify shrinking cities,the propensity score matching(PSM)model was used to quantitatively examine the impact of shrinking cities on land prices,and evaluate the magnitude of this *** findings demonstrate the following:1)there were 613 shrinking cities in China,with moderate shrinkage being the most prevalent and severe shrinkage being the least.2)Regional disparities are evident in the spatial distribution of shrinking cities,especially in areas with diverse terrain.3)The spatial pattern of land price exhibits a significant correlated to the economic and administrative levels.4)Shrinking cities significantly negatively impact on the overall land price(ATT=–0.1241,P<0.05).However,the extent of the effect varies significantly among different spatial *** study contributes novel insights into the investigation of land prices and shrinking cities,ultimately serving as a foundation for government efforts to promote the sustainable development of urban areas.
