An optical spectrometer is a basic spectral instrument that probes microscopic physical and chemical properties of macroscopic objects but generally suffers from difficulty in broadband time-resolved *** this work,we report the creation of ultrabroadband white-light laser with a 3-dB bandwidth covering 385 to 1,080 nm,pulse energy of 1.07 mJ,and pulse duration of several hundred femtoseconds by passing 3-mJ pulse energy,50-fs pulse duration Ti:Sapphire pulse laser through a cascaded fused silica plate and chirped periodically poled lithium niobate *** utilize this unprecedented superflat,ultrabroadband,and intense femtosecond laser light source to build a single-shot(i.e.,single-pulse)subpicosecond pulse laser ultraviolet-visible-near-infrared spectrometer and successfully measure various atomic and molecular absorption *** single-shot ultrafast spectrometer may open up a frontier to monitor simultaneously the ultrafast dynamics of multiple physical and chemical processes in various microscopic systems.

Phase-coherent multi-tone lasers play a critical role in atomic,molecular,and optical *** them,the Raman opeartion laser for manipulating atomic hyperfine qubits requires gigahertz bandwidth and low phase noise to retain long-term *** operation lasers generated by directly modulated and frequency-multipled infrared lasers are compact and stable but lack feedback control to actively suppress the phase noise,which limits their performance in practical *** this work,we employ a fiber electro-optical modulator driven by a voltage-controlled oscillator(VCO)to modulate a monochromatic laser and employ a second-harmonic generation process to convert it to the visible domain,where the beat note of the Raman operation laser is stabilized by controlling the output frequency of VCO with a digital phase-locked loop(PLL).The low-frequency phase noise is effectively suppressed compared to the scheme without active feedback and it reaches-80 d Bc/Hz@5 k Hz with a 20 k Hz loop ***,this compact and robust scheme effectively reduces the system's complexity and cost,which is promising for extensive application in atomic,molecular,and optical physics.

Through the reversible isomerization of trans-cis-trans under the linear polarization light, the molecules of azo materials have the same tropism which is vertical to the polarization of light. This means that azo materials have photo-induced birefringence which is related to optical power and polarization angle of the light. Based on the photo-induced birefringence of azo materials, we design a new type of optically pumped semiconductor vertical external cavity surface emitting laser （OPS-VECSEL） which can control the polarization and frequency of the ejection laser. The functional molecules of azo materials are [3-azo- （4＇nitro）]- （9-ethyl）-carbazole （ANECz）.

The helium bubbles induced by 14 MeV neutron irradiation can cause intergranular fractures in reduced activation ferritic martensitic steel,which is a candidate structural material for fusion *** order to elucidate the susceptibility of different grain boundaries(GBs)to helium-induced embrittlement,the tensile fracture processes of 10 types of GBs with and without helium bubbles in body-centered cubic(bcc)iron at the relevant service temperature of 600 K were investigated via molecular dynamics *** results indicate that in the absence of helium bubbles,the GBs studied here can be classified into two distinct categories:brittle GBs and ductile *** atomic scale analysis shows that the plastic deformation of ductile GB at high temperatures originates from complex plastic deformation mechanisms,including the Bain/Burgers path phase transition and deformation twinning,in which the Bain path phase transition is the most dominant plastic deformation ***,the presence of helium bubbles severely inhibits the plastic deformation channels of the GBs,resulting in a significant decrease in elongation at *** bubble-decorated GBs,the ultimate tensile strength increases with the increase in the misorientation ***,the coherent twin boundary∑3{112}was found to maintain relatively high fracture strength and maximum failure strain under the influence of helium bubbles.

Energy levels of the odd-parity 6pnd J = 2 Rydberg states of atomic lead are analyzed by the multichannel quantum defect theory (MQDT) with previous experimental energy levels. The 6pnd (6 ≤n ≤ 63) J = 2 Rydberg energy levels are calculated and optimal MQDT parameters were obtained. Using these parameters, admixture coefficients for each level are calculated to designate the level denotations. The results show that strong channel mixings exist for the levels near the 6p6d (3/2)[5/2]2o and 6p6d (3/2)[3/2]2o pertubers. The five-channel model different from that in literature is used to predict 21 energy positions of 6pnd (1/2)[3/2]2o levels and to determine the denotations of all the 6pnd J = 2 Rydberg states under 59788 cm-1 for Pb I.

We investigate the third-order optical nonlinearities in four novel porphyrin dimers （dimers A to D） and a monomeric porphyrin H2 CPTPP measured by using the single-beam z-scan technique with a pulsed Q-switched Nd：YAG nanosecond laser at 532nm. All the samples show strong excited state absorption （ESA） and high value of Х^（3） in the ns domain at this wavelength. We perform a comparison between dimer A and its monomer H2 CPTPP in their third-order optical nonlinearity, and discuss the relationships between the values of Х^（3） and the different bridging groups for all the dimers.

A new simple pyrene-substituted acylhydrazone derivative, 4-（3,4-dioctyloxy） phenyl-l-pyrene acylhydrazone （PAH-8）, was designed and synthesized. The PAH-8 can form thermo-reversible organogel in DMSO, and shows gelation-induced enhanced fluorescence emission. Xerogel exhibits ribbon-like fibrous aggregates with widths of 0.5- 1 μm. The PAH-8 organogel indicates photo-responsive behaviors due to the trans-cis isomerizations of-C = N- bond upon exposure to visible or UV light. Upon visible light irradiation, the partial trans-cis isomerization of the -C=N- bond causes the fiber morphology to disappear, resulting in gel-sol transition, whereas the PAH-8 organogel exhibits few photoisomerizations from trans to cis transition without breakage of the gel state upon UV light irradiation.

One piece of single-mode silica fibre is used to study of temperature characteristics of stimulated Raman scattering （SRS）, additional peaks （double-humped） are observed at both sides of pump light and 1 St-order Stokes light in the experiment. The frequency shift of the double-humped is calculated by stimulated Four-Photon mixing （SFPM） phase matching theory, the result is consistent with the frequency shift of this experiment. Simultaneously, the experimental conditions accord with the theoretical calculation of effective coherence length. We indicate that the double-bumped phenomenon is caused by SFPM. The intensity of double-humped is first increased, then decreased and finally disappeared as the temperature increases. This phenomenon has been explained theoretically.
