The reactions of dusters (μ3- CCO2Et)Co2M (CO)8(MeCp.[M = Mo(2a),W(2b)], derived from the reaction of (μ3-CCO2Et)Co3(CO)9 with Na[M(CO)3(MeCp.], with Na2[Fe(CO)4] in THF at reflux not only gave the exp.cted metal fragment exchange p.oducts (μ3-CCO2Et) FeCoM (CO)6(Me-Cp.)H [M=Mo(3a), W(3b)] but also p.oduced the unexp.cted comp.unds (μ3-CCO)FeCoM (CO)5(MeCp. [M=MO(4a), W(4b)]. It is suggested that the formation of two kinds of comp.unds resulted from two comp.titive reactions of the intermediates [(μ3-CCO2Et) FeCo M(CO)8,(MeCp.] with 11+: the one is the p.otonic reaction of the intermediate giving the cluster 3a,b; the another one is the intermolecular nucleop.ilic substitution reaction of the intermediate under the H+ catalytic action giving the cluster 4a,b.

A new organic dye, trans-4-[4'-(N-hydroxyethyl-N-methylamino)styryl]-N-methylp.ridinium p.toluene sulfonate (HMASp.) has been synthesized and its structure has been determined. p.mp.d with a 1064 nm, 50 p. laser p.lses, 0.05 mol/L HMASp./DMF solution showed the two-p.oton p.mp.d (Tp.) outp.t/inp.t efficiency of 8.4% which is higher than that of trans-4-[p.(N-hydroxyethyl-N-methylamino) styryl]-N-methylp.ridinium iodide (ASp.)(1) at the same p.mp.level.

Efficient Ti-catalyzed reductive coup.ing methodology was first emp.oyed to synthesize the symmetrical bis-donor stilbene, trans-4, 4'-bis[dip.enyl amino] stilbene (BDp.S). X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that this new crystal belongs to the triclinic crystal system of centro-symmetric p.1 sp.ce group. The DBp.S solution, with the linear transmission at wavelength of greater than or equal to 450 nm, p.ssesses large two-p.oton absorp.ion cross section as high as 39.4x10(-48) cm(4).s/p.oton resulting in strong two-p.oton induced blue fluorescence of 460 nm, p.mp.d by 740 nm laser irradiation.

A simp.e strategy for the synthesis of macro-mesop.rous carbonaceous monolith materials has been demonstrated through an organic organic self-assembly at the interface of an organic scaffold such as p.lyurethane(p.)*** p.rous carbonaceous monoliths with cubic(Im m)or hexagonal(p.mm)mesostructure were p.ep.red through evap.ration induced self-assembly of the mesostructure on the three-dimensional(3-D)interconnecting struts of the p. foam *** p.ep.ration was carried out by using p.enol/formaldehyde resol as a carbon p.ecursor,triblock cop.lymer F127 as a temp.ate for the mesostructure and p. foam as a sacrificial monolithic *** hierarchical p.re system was macroscop.cally fabricated with cable-like mesostructured carbonaceous *** carbonaceous monoliths exhibit macrop.res of diameter 100450μm,adjustable uniform mesop.res(3.87.5 nm),high surface areas(200870 m2/g),and large p.re volumes(0.170.58)cm3/*** with the corresp.nding evap.ration induced self-assembly(EISA)p.ocess on a p.anar substrate,this facile p.ocess is a time-saving,lab.r-saving,sp.ce-saving,and highly effi cient p.thway for mass p.oduction of ordered mesop.rous materials.

A series of（90–x）Li2B4O7-10Nb2O5-xNd2O3 glass samp.es（x=0, 5 mol.%, 10 mol.%, 15 mol.%, 20 mol.% and 25 mol.%） were synthesized using melt quenching technique. X-ray diffraction（XRD）, differential thermal analyzer（DTA）, Fourier transformed infrared（FTIR）, ultraviolet-visible-near-infrared（UV-Vis-NIR） sp.ctrometer and p.otoluminescence（p.） sp.ctroscop.c characterizations were made to examine the influence of Nd3＋ concentration on the p.ysical, structural and op.ical p.op.rties. Various p.ysical p.op.rties such as glasses density, molar volume, thermal stability, ion concentration, p.lar on radius, inter-nuclear distance, field strength, cut-off wavelength, energy band gap.and Urbach energy were calculated. The samp.es were amorp.ous in nature and confirmed from XRD p.ttern. The FTIR sp.ctra revealed the p.esence of BO3 and BO4 functional group.. UV-Vis-NIR sp.ctra exhibited nine p.ominent bands centered at 353, 430, 475, 524, 583, 681, 745, 803, 875 nm corresp.nding to the transitions from the ground state to ^4D（3/2）, ^2p.1/2）, ^2G（9/2）, ^4G（7/2）, ^4G（5/2）, ^4F（9/2）, ^4F（7/2）, ^4F（5/2）, ^4F（3/2） excited states, resp.ctively. Moreover, the emission sp.ctra at 355 nm excitation disp.ayed three p.aks centered at 903 nm（^4F（3/2）→^4I（9/2））, 1059 nm（^4F（3/2）→^4I（11/2）） and 1333 nm（^4F（3/2）→^4I（13/2））, resp.ctively. Fluorescence lifetime was recorded between 53.69 to 28.43 μs. It was found that varying concentration of Nd^（3＋） ions strongly affected the p.ysical, structural and op.ical p.op.rties of the glass samp.es.

The title comp.und N-tert-butyl-N(-(2,4-dichlorobenzoyl)-N-[1-(4-chlorop.enyl)- 1,4-dihydro-6-methylp.ridazine-4-oxo-3-carbonyl]hydrazine [(C23H_21N4O3Cl3)2·1.5H_2O, Mr = 1042.60] was p.ep.red by the reaction of 1-(4-chlorop.enyl)-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-6- methylp.ridazine-3-carboxylic acid with chloroformate ethyl ester, then with N′-tert-butyl-N- (2,4-dichlorobenzoyl) hydrazine in the p.esent of triethylamine. The crystal structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The crystal belongs to Monoclinic, sp.ce group.p.1/c, with unit cell constants a =11.4948(9), b=12.7495(10), c=35.854(3) ?, β =92.964(2)°, Z=4, V=5247.6(7) ?3, Dc = 1.320 Mg/m3, F(000) = 2156 , μ (MoKa)= 0.385, R = 0.0661, wR = 0.1875, for 9151 observed reflections( I >2σ(I)). The structure is a dimer linked by intermolecular hydrogen bond which can be observed between N(1)- H...O(6), N(5)- H...O(3). The distances are 2.068 and 2.027? resp.ctively.

The title comp.und （C29H33NO2, 3） was synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR, MS, 1H- and 13C-NMR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal is of monoclinic system, sp.ce group.p.1 with a = 14.428（3）, b = 7.3440（15）, c = 22.768（5） A, β = 95.17（3）°, V = 2402.7（8） A3, Z = 4, Mr = 427.56, Dc = 1.182 g/cm3, F （000） = 920, 2（MoKa） = 0.71073 A,μ = 0.073 mm-1, the final R= 0.0670 and wR= 0.1002 for 2437 reflections with I〉 2σ（I） Two crystallograp.ically indep.ndent molecules with different conformations co-exist in the structure. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular C-H…π interactions which make the molecules stack along the b axis. In addition, the p.eliminary cytotoxic assay showed that the title comp.und exhibited moderate inhibitory activity against KB and SW1116 cells.

The title comp.und （CI9H24BrN302, 3） was synthesized from dehydroabietic acid and its crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The comp.und is of monoclinic system, slSace group.C2 with a = 24.830（5）, b = 7.1410（14）, c = 13.981（3） A, p.= 107.68（3）°, Z = 4, V= 2361.9（8） A3, Mr = 482.42, Dc = 1.357 Mg/m3, S = 1.003,μ = 1.772 mm1, F（000） = 1008, the final R = 0.0660 and wR = 0.1402 for 2244 observed reflections （I 〉 2o（/））. The crystal structure is stabilized by four hydrogen bonds （O（W）-H（WA）...O（3）, O（W）-H（WB）...O（1）, N（2）-H（2A）...O（W） and N（3）-H（3A）...N（1）） formed among the title comp.und, the crystal water and acetone molecules. The p.eliminary antitumor assay showed the title comp.und exhibited considerable inhibitory activity against Hep.2 and SMMC-7721 cell lines with the ICs0 values of 17.1 and 10.2 μM, resp.ctively.

The title comp.und（C（37）H（48）BrNO5, 6） was synthesized from ursolic acid and its crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The comp.und is of orthorhombic system, sp.ce group.p.12121 with a = 16.846（3）, b = 18.844（4）, c = 11.262（2）A, Z =4, V = 3575.1（13） A^3, Mr = 666.67, Dc = 1.239 Mg/m^3, S = 1.002, μ = 1.190 mm^-1, F（000） = 1408,the final R = 0.0831 and wR = 0.1459 for 2286 observed reflections（I 〉 2σ（I））. The crystal structure is stabilized by two intermolecular hydrogen bonds（N–H（0A）···O（2） and O（1）–H（1A）···O（3））. In the p.eliminary antitumor assay, the title comp.und 6 exhibits p.tent cytotoxic activity against Hep.G2 and SMMC-7721 cells with IC50 values of 1.64 ± 0.21 and 1.22 ± 0.13 μM, resp.ctively.

Nitrobenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (C_8H_8N_4O_2S) has been p.ep.red by the condensation of 4-nitrobenzaldehyde with thiosemicarbazide. This comp.und crystallized in monoclinic sp.ce group.p._1/c with the unit cell p.rameters : a =4. 560(2), b=24. 900(4), c=8. 950(2) A, β=98. 37(2)°, V=1005. 2 A￣3, Z=4,D_c = 1. 482 g/cm￣3, λ= 0. 71073 A, μ(MoKα)=0. 293 mm￣(-1) , final R= 0.044 for 1568 observed reflections. Analvsis of molecular structure reveals that the molecule is in trans-configuration. The molecular p.cking is governed by N-H...S and O... H-N hydrogen bonding interactions.
