Evolution of lithofacies and paleogeography and hydrocarbon distribution worldwide(Ⅱ)

Based on the compilation and analysis of the lithofacies and paleogeography distribution maps at present and paleoplate locations during six key geological periods of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic,the lithofacies and paleogeography features and their development laws were *** on our previous research results on lithofacies and paleogeography from Precambrian to Paleozoic,we systematically studied the features and evolution laws of global lithofacies and paleogeography from the Precambrian and their effects on the formation of source rocks,reservoirs,cap rocks and the distribution of oil and gas *** results show that since Precambrian,the distribution areas of uplift erosion and terrestrial clastic deposition tended to increase gradually,and increased significantly during the period of continental *** scale of coastal and shallow marine facies area had three distinct cycles,namely,from Precambrian to Devonian,from Carboniferous to Triassic,and from Jurassic to ***,the development of shallow carbonate platform also showed three cycles;the lacustrine facies onshore was relatively developed in Mesozoic and Cenozoic;the sabkha was mainly developed in the Devonian,Permian and *** Cretaceous is the most important source rock layers in the world,followed by the Jurassic and Paleogene source rocks;the clastic reservoirs have more oil and gas than the carbonate reservoirs;the basins with shale caprocks have the widest distribution,the most abundant reserves of oil and gas,and the evaporite caprocks have the strongest sealing capacity,which can seal some huge oil and gas fields.

Geological characteristics and high production control factors of shale gas reservoirs in Silurian Longmaxi Formation, southern Sichuan Basin, SW China

marine shale gas resources have great potential in the south of the Sichuan Basin in *** present,the high-quality shale gas resources at depth of 2000–3500 m are under effective development,and strategic breakthroughs have been made in deeper shale gas resources at depth of 3500–4500 *** promote the effective production of shale gas in this area,this study examines key factors controlling high shale gas production and presents the next exploration direction in the southern Sichuan Basin based on summarizing the geological understandings from the Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation shale gas exploration combined with the latest results of geological *** results show that:(1)The relative sea depth in marine shelf sedimentary environment controls the development and distribution of *** the relatively deep water area in deep-water shelf,grade-I reservoirs with a larger continuous thickness *** relative depth of sea in marine shelf sedimentary environment can be determined by redox *** research shows that the uranium to thorium mass ratio greater than 1.25 indicates relatively deep water in anoxic reduction environment,and the uranium to thorium mass ratio of 0.75–1.25 indicates semi-deep water in weak reduction and weak oxidation environment,and the uranium to thorium mass ratio less than 0.75 indicates relatively shallow water in strong oxidation environment.(2)The propped fractures in shale reservoirs subject to fracturing treatment are generally 10–12 m high,if grade-I reservoirs are more than 10 m in continuous thickness,then all the propped section would be high-quality reserves;in this case,the longer the continuous thickness of penetrated grade-I reservoirs,the higher the production will be.(3)The shale gas reservoirs at 3500–4500 m depth in southern Sichuan are characterized by high formation pressure,high pressure coefficient,well preserved pores,good pore structure and high proportion of free gas,making them the most

The Lomagundi-Jatuli Event(LJE)refers to the significant positive carbon isotope excursion in seawater constituents that occurred immediately after the increase in atmospheric oxygen content during the Paleoproterozoic(2.22-2.06 Ga).Theδ^(13)C values of 46 dolostone samples collected from the Paleoproterozoic Yongjingshao Formation varied in the range of 0.05‰-4.95‰(V-PDB;maximum:4.95‰)in this study,which may be related to the multicellular eukaryotes in the Liangshan Formation in the Yimen *** are much higher than theδ^(13)C values of marine carbonates(-1.16‰on average).Theδ^(13)C values of other formations in the Paleoproterozoic Yimen Group are *** notable positive carbon isotope anomalies of the Yongjingshao Formation indicate the response to the LJE at the southwestern margin of the Yangtze Block,which is reported for the first ***,they are comparable to theδ^(13)C values of carbonates in the Dashiling Formation of the Hutuo Group in the Wutaishan area in the North China Craton,the Wuzhiling Formation of the Songshan Group in the Xiong'er area,Henan Province,and the Dashiqiao Formation of the Liaohe Group in the Guanmenshan area,Liaoning ***,it can be further concluded that the LJE is a global *** study reveals that LJE occurred in Central Yunnan at 2.15-2.10 Ga,lasting for about 50 *** macro-columnar,bean-shaped,and microfilament fossils and reticular ultramicrofossils of multicellular eukaryotes in this period were discovered in the Liangshan Formation of the Yimen *** are the direct cause for the LJE and are also the oldest paleontological fossils ever *** major events successively occurring in the early stage of the Earth include the Great Oxygenation Event(first occurrence),the global Superiortype banded iron formations(BIFs),the Huronian glaciation,the Great Oxygenation Event(second occurrence),the explosion of multicellular eukaryotes,the positive carbon isotope excursion,and the global a

Inhibitory activities of microalgal fucoxanthin againstα-amylase,α-glucosidase, and glucose oxidase in 3T3-L1cells linked to type 2 diabetes

Postprandial hyperglycemia is an early indication of type 2 diabetes and the target of many anti-diabetic and anti-obesity studies.α-Glucosidase and α-amylase are the crucial factors in regulating starch digestion and glucose absorption,making them key targets for many studies to treat postprandial *** studied the inhibitory activities of microalgal fucoxanthin against rat-intestinalα-glucosidase and pancreaticα-amylase along with the antidiabetic eff ect to induce diff erentiation in 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes using Oil Red-O *** displayed strong hindrance activities towardα-amylase in a concentration-dependent manner,with an IC50 value of 0.68mmol/L,whereas weak inhibitory activity against α-glucosidase,with an IC 50 value of 4.75 mmol/*** also considerably elevated glucose oxidase activity in 3T3-L1 cells by 31.3%at 5μmol/*** adipocyte differentiation,fucoxanthin showed lipid accumulation in 3T3-L1 cells with no cytotoxicity up to 20μmol/***,fucoxanthin had no inhibitory activity on glucose-6-phosphate *** results suggest that fucoxanthin might be useful for the prevention of obesity or diabetes by inhibiting carbohydrate-hydrolyzing enzymes and lipid accumulation and be utilized as an ingredient for a functional food or dietary supplement.

Simulation of the extreme waves generated by typhoon Bolaven (1215) in the East China Sea and Yellow Sea

Record-breaking high waves occurred during the passage of the typhoon Bolaven（1215）（TYB） in the East China Sea（ECS） and Yellow Sea（YS） although its intensity did not reach the level of a super *** and directional wave measurements were made using a range of in-situ instruments mounted on an ocean tower and *** order to understand how such high waves with long duration occurred,analyses have been made through measurement and numerical *** winds were generated using the TC96 typhoon wind model with the best track data calibrated with the *** then the wind fields were blended with the reanalyzed synoptic-scale wind fields for a wave *** fields were simulated using WAM4.5 with adjustment of C_d for gust of winds and bottom friction for the study *** the accuracy of simulations is considerably enhanced,and the computed results are also in better agreement with measured data than *** is found that the extremely high waves evolved as a result of the superposition of distant large swells and high wind seas generated by strong winds from the front/right quadrant of the typhoon *** the typhoon moved at a speed a little slower than the dominant wave group velocity in a consistent direction for two days,the wave growth was significantly enhanced by strong wind input in an extended fetch and non-linear interaction.

Observational Analyses of Baroclinic Boundary Layer Characteristics during One Frontal Winter Snowstorm

The evolution and characteristics of the baroclinic boundary layer for one frontal winter snowstorm were analyzed by using the well-documented dataset during Intensive Observation Period (IOP) 17 of STORM-FEST. It is found that when the warm moist air was lifted across the front, a great amount of latent heat release because of snowing increased the frontal temperature contrast to intensify frontogenesis. It is shown in the zig-zag section diagram of potential temperature that when the frontogenesis got stronger, a cold trough was formed and both low-level jet (LLJ) and upper-level jet (ULJ) emerged ahead of the front. In the strongest stage of frontogenesis, the frontal contrast of potential temperature of cold trough reached as high as 20 K. Hereafter the LLJ ahead of the front tended to weaken and the LLJ behind the front tended to strengthen. The frontal circulation system was dominated by the cold air advection behind the front, which transported the cold air behind the front forward to the warm area ahead of the front to weaken the cold trough and finally frontolysis occurred. It is shown by the analyses of turbulent characteristics of frontal baroclinic boundary-layer that the vertical shear (WV) above the boundary layer was very large, and the pumping of the strong wind shear in turbulent energy budget made the characteristic variables within the PBL well mixed. Sufficient moisture carried by southerly flow from the Mexico Gulf, and the strong baroclinity of the frontal boundary layer played key roles in this frontal winter snowstorm, and the large-scale ULJ behind the cold front is also advantageous to the development of the convective boundary layer.

Effects of Dietary Protein and Temperature on Growth and Flesh Quality of Songpu Mirror Carp

The study was conducted to demonstrate the effects of dietary protein and water temperature on growth and flesh quality of Songpu mirror carp （Cyprinus carpio） at an initial weight （165.24±5.08） g. Practical diets were formulated to contain five protein levels （29.12%, 31.46%, 34.49%, 38.17%, and 40.13%）, and each diet was randomly assigned triplicate groups of 15 fishes at three temperatures （18℃, 22℃, and 26℃） in the recirculation system. Fishes were fed twice daily to apparent satiation for 56 days. Results indicated that fishes had higher weight gain rate at 22℃ and 26℃ than that at 18℃ （P〈0.05）, but there were no significant differences between 22℃ and 26℃ （P〉0.05）. Based on the weight gain rate, dietary protein level 29.12% could meet the requirement of the body at 18℃, 22℃, or 26℃. Crude protein, crude lipid, moisture and ash of muscle had no significant differences among those treatments （P〉0.05）. pH （after 24 h） of muscle was the highest at 18℃ and the lowest at 22℃ （P〈0.05）, but no differences were observed among different protein level groups at each temperature （P〉0.05）. No significant differences on shear force, water holding capacity, collagen, glycogen and lactate among all the treatments were found （P〉0.05）. It was concluded that when C. carpio fed to apparent satiation, the growth mainly depended upon temperature. Dietary protein could not significantly affect flesh quality, but temperature significantly affected pH of muscles. A dietary protein level 29.12% could meet the requirement of the body at 18℃, 22℃, or 26℃.
