Because plants are sessile organisms,the ability to adapt to a wide range of environmental conditions is critical for their *** a consequence,plants use hormones to regulate growth,mitigate biotic and abiotic stresses,and to communicate with other *** plant hormones function plei-otropically in vivo,and often work in tandem with other hormones that are chemically distinct.A newly-defined class of plant hormones,the strigolactones,cooperate with auxins and cytokinins to control shoot branching and the outgrowth of lateral *** were originally identified as compounds that stimulated the germination of parasitic plant seeds,and were also demonstrated to induce hyphal branching in arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM) *** fungi form symbioses with higher plant roots and mainly facilitate the absorption of phosphate from the *** to the classical definition of a plant hormone,strigolactones are produced in the roots and translocated to the shoots where they inhibit shoot outgrowth and *** biosynthesis of this class of compounds is regulated by soil nutrient availability,*** plant will increase its production of strigolactones when the soil phosphate concentration is limited,and decrease production when phosphates are in ample *** that affect plant shoot branching,AM fungal hyphal branching,and seed germination in parasitic plants facilitate chemical synthesis of similar compounds to control these and other biological processes by exogenous application.

Dear Editor, The structure of eukaryotic promoter is modular, consisting of different sub-domains （Benfey et al., 1990）. Cross-talk among these sub-domains and effective combinatorial interac- tions between the specific cis-element/s with respective trans- factor/s usually control the strength and tissue specificity of the promoter. Further, specificity/inducibility of promoter can be modified by altering its genetic architecture through ＇cis-rearrangement＇（Rushton et al., 2002） and ＇swapping of sub-domains＇（Bhullar et al., 2003）. Background:The type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)pharmacodynamic study of various parts of Schisandra sphenanthera was conducted in the previous stage,and it was found that dichloromethane extracted part(SDP)had a significant hypoglycemic ***,the components of SDP were analyzed,and the specific mechanism of its anti-T2DM was ***:We used a high-fat,high-sugar diet in combination with streptozotocin to induce a T2DM rat model,and the model rats were divided into two groups according to body weight and blood ***,oral glucose tolerance test,fasting blood glucose,low density lipoprotein cholesterol,superoxide dismutase,insulin,glycated hemoglobin,total cholesterol,nonesterified free fatty acids,alanine aminotransferase,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,aspartate aminotransferase,malondialdehyde,and glutathione peroxidase were measured,organ indices were calculated,and pathological sections of pancreas and liver were *** 16S rRNA V3–V4 region of intestinal flora was sequenced to explore the effect of SDP on biochemical indicators and intestinal *** on the above indicators,the anti-T2DM mechanism of SDP in Schisandra sphenanthera was ***:After six weeks of administration,the biochemical indices of diabetic rats were diminished compared to the control *** SDP could significantly increase the gut microbialα-diversity index,resulting in significant changes in the flora of T2DM rats,with increased richness and diversity,reduced harmful flora,and significantly back-regulated the levels of acetic acid,propionic acid,and butyric ***:SDP can improve the symptoms associated with elevated blood glucose,dyslipidemia,elevated fasting insulin levels,and damaged glucose tolerance in *** against T2DM may be through the control of intestinal flora to normalize and exert anti-diabetic effect;its main active components may be lignans and terpenoids.

Microjets are used to control the internal flow to improve the performance of an ultra-compact serpentine inlet. A highly offset serpentine inlet with length-to-diameter ratio of 2.5 is designed and static tests are conducted to analyze the internal flow characteristics in terms of pressure recovery, distortion and flow separation. Flow separation is encountered in the second S-turn, and two strong counter-rotating vortices are formed at the aerodynamic interthce plane （AIP） face which occupy a quarter of the outlet area and result in severe pressure loss and distortion. A flow control model employing a row of microjets in the second turn is designed based on the internal flow characteristics and simplified CFD simulations. Flow control tests are conducted to verify the control effectiveness and understand the characteristics as a function of inlet throat Mach number, injection mass flow ratio, jet Mach number and momentum coefficient. At all test Mach numbers, microjet flow control （MFC） effectively improves the recovery and reduces the distortion intensity. Between inlet throat Mach number 0.2 and 0.5, the strong flow separation in the second S-turn is suppressed at an optimum jet flow ratio of less than 0.65%, resulting in a maximum improvement of 4% for pressure recovery coefficient and a maximum decrease of 75% for circumferential distortion intensity at cruise. However, in order to suppress the flow separation, the injection rate should retain in an effective range. When the injection rate is higher than this range, the flow is degraded and the distortion contour is changed from 90° circumferential distortion pattern to 180° circumferential distortion pattern. Detailed data analysis shows that this optimum flow ratio depends on inlet throat Mach number and the monlcntunl coefficient affects the control effectiveness in a dual stepping manner.

The massively separated flows over a realistic aircraft configuration at 40？, 50？, and 60？angles of attack are studied using the delayed detached eddy simulation（DDES）.The calculations are carried out at experimental conditions corresponding to a mean aerodynamic chord-based Reynolds number of 8.93 × 10~5 and Mach number of 0.088. The influence of the grid size is investigated using two grids, 20.0×10~6cells and 31.0 × 10~6 cells. At the selected conditions, the lift,drag, and pitching moment from DDES predictions agree with the experimental data better than that from the Reynoldsaveraged Navier–Stokes. The effect of angle of attack on the flow structure over the general aircraft is also studied, and it is found that the dominated frequency associated with the vortex shedding process decreases with increasing angle of attack.
