The structural transitions of the NiAs-type Mn0.52Sb0.48 magneto-ordered compound, ball milled to different periods, have been characterized by X-ray diffraction and DSC analysis. On the basis of lattice parameter results a structural evolution mode with three stages is proposed. In the first stage lattice parameters keep nearly unchanged with the refinement of grains and increase of lattice strain. In the second stage, microstrain shows a lowering tendency accompanying the successive decreases of grain size. The X-ray revealed internal strain is found to be strains inside the lattice, which can be relaxed with new grain formation. The change of Tc is shown to be affected by the dimension of c axis, however the overall magnetization is continuously decreased with milling, due to the disordering process occurred in milling. Correspondent disordering mechanisms have been tentatively postulated and discussed according to the changes of lattice para meters.

Mutual Experiences of Japanese Parents and Their Children When Late School-Age Children Engage in Meal-Related Family Routines: A Qualitative Analysis of Parent and Child Dyads

Purpose: The objective of the present study was to identify the type of experiences that parents and their children have with each other when late-school age children take on roles in family routines related to daily meals. Methods: A grounded theory approach was used. The participants were children in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades of elementary school and their main caregivers. First, 10 parent and child dyads were interviewed using a semi-structured schedule. Next, online group interviews were conducted for 17 parent and child dyads to deductively confirm the categories. Results: The average age of the subjects was 41.9 years for parents and 10.4 years for children in parent-child interviews, and 41.1 years for parents and 9.6 years for children in group interviews. Six categories emerged with nineteen subcategories. Conclusions: Experiences mutually nurtured by parents and their children included experiences in which children used negotiation and conversation skills to consensually engage in family routines related to meals. It also included experiences that socialized the children in family life and fostered good communication. The six categories will be useful for healthcare professionals and school authorities in providing health guidance that addresses health functions of late school-age children and their families.

Photonuclear reactions play a key role In producing 35 neutron-deficient nuclei from Se to Hg that are classified as p-nuclei. It is known that these nuclei cannot be produced by neutron capture because they are bypassed by the s-process path and shielded from the r-process by stable nuclei. In contrast, photodisintegratlon of preexisting s- and r-process seed nuclei can produce these nuclei. Unlike Western countries, Asian countries have a brief history of caring for patients with various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Healthcare professionals face difficulty in providing care to foreign patients. Presumably, those with higher cultural sensitivity possess higher cultural competency, and cultural indicators are associated with personal factors, such as interest in or learning experience of foreign languages. We examined correlations between Intercultural Sensitivity Scale (ISS) and Cultural Competence in Nursing Scale (CCNS) scores in Japanese nurses and discussed implications of our findings in increasing cultural sensitivity in countries with limited exposure to foreign culture. A questionnaire survey on ISS, CCNS, and personal factors was conducted among 156 nurses. Correlations among the two scales and personal factors were analyzed. Total ISS scores were comparable with previously reported scores. ISS and CCNS scores were moderately correlated. ISS subscale scores were moderately correlated with the learning experience of foreign languages. Nurses most commonly learned English;most foreign patients were Chinese. Experiences of providing care to foreign patients were not related to cultural sensitivity. The lowest ISS score was obtained in “interaction confidence” subscale. Languages used by foreign patients did not match languages that nurses had interest in or had learned;this may contribute to their low confidence in interacting with foreigners. Nurses in a country with limited exposure to different cultures need educational intervention for providing care to foreigners regardless of their cultural experiences. ISS may be useful to identify nurses who need further education to foster confidence while interacting with foreigners.

We show a conceptual structure for a wave energy converter,which features a direct‐drive linear power generator with REBaCuO high‐temperature superconducting(HTS)bulk field poles and driven by a heaving buoy.A dual translator power generation system of the proposed concept structure is a linear generator in which both the HTS bulks and armature copper coils move in opposite directions simultaneously.A performance analysis of our linear generator was conducted using a finite‐element electromagnetic field analysis *** results of the analysis were compared between the HTS dual translator linear power generator and the HTS single translator linear power *** maximum electromagnetic force and the average output power of the HTS dual translator are around 5%and 11%higher than that of the HTS single *** further present the results of the analysis regarding the influence of reducing the stroke length of the linear generator translator on the output power,where the output power for the HTS dual translator system increased up to a factor of two,in comparison to the HTS single translator counterpart,for the same reduction of stroke length.
