Atherosclerosis remains a great threat to human health worldwide. Previous studies found that tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) and paeoniflorin (PF) combination (TMP-PF) exerts anti-atherosclerotic effects in vitro. However， whether TMP-PF improves atherosclerosis in vivo needs further exploration. The present study aims to assess the anti-atherosclerotic properties of TMP-PF in ApoE-/-mice and explore the related molecule mechanisms. Results showed that TMP and high-dose TMP-PF decreased serum TG and LDL-C levels， suppressed VEGFR2 and NR4A1 expression in aortic tissues， inhibited plaque angiogenesis， reduced plaque areas， and alleviated atherosclerosis in ApoE-/-mice. Also， TMP-PF exhibited a better modulation effect than TMP or PF alone. However， NR4A1 agonist abolished the anti-atherosclerotic effects of TMP-PF. In conclusion， TMP-PF was first found to alleviate atherosclerosis progression by reducing hyperlipemia and inhibiting plaque angiogenesis via the NR4A1/VEGFR2 pathway， indicating that TMP-PF had a positive effect on reducing hyperlipemia and attenuating atherosclerosis development.

This report aims to analyze the key risks and opportunities of entering China’s rural market in accordance with the current economic, political, and social background. Based on the analysis, this report also gives possible entry strategy, short-term strategy and long-term strategy in some promising area based on the analysis.

Background:Most lung cancer risk prediction models were developed in European and North-american cohorts of smokers aged≥55 years,while less is known about risk profiles in Asia,especially for never smokers or individuals aged<50 ***,we aimed to develop and validate a lung cancer risk estimate tool for ever and never smokers across a wide age ***:Based on the China Kadoorie Biobank cohort,we first systematically selected the predictors and explored the nonlinear association of predictors with lung cancer risk using restricted cubic ***,we separately developed risk prediction models to construct a lung cancer risk score(LCRS)in 159,715 ever smokers and 336,526 never *** LCRS was further validated in an independent cohort over a median follow-up of 13.6 years,consisting of 14,153 never smokers and 5,890 ever ***:A total of 13 and 9 routinely available predictors were identified for ever and never smokers,*** these predictors,cigarettes per day and quit years showed nonlinear associations with lung cancer risk(Pnon-linear<0.001).The curve of lung cancer incidence increased rapidly above 20 cigarettes per day and then was relatively flat until approximately 30 cigarettes per *** also observed that lung cancer risk declined sharplywithin the first 5 years of quitting,and then continued to decrease but at a slower rate in the subsequent *** 6-year area under the receiver operating curve for the ever and never smokers’models were respectively 0.778 and 0.733 in the derivation cohort,and 0.774 and 0.759 in the validation *** the validation cohort,the 10-year cumulative incidence of lung cancerwas 0.39%and 2.57%for ever smokers with low(<166.2)and intermediate-high LCRS(≥166.2),*** smokers with a high LCRS(≥21.2)had a higher 10-year cumulative incidence rate than those with a low LCRS(<21.2;1.05%vs.0.22%).An online risk evaluation tool(LCKEY;http://***/lckey/web)was develope

Large shift of the Pacific Walker Circulation across the Cenozoic

Fluctuations in the Pacific Walker Circulation(PWC), a zonally oriented overturning cell across the tropical Pacific, can cause widespread climatic and biogeochemical perturbations. It remains unknown how the PWC developed during the Cenozoic era, with its substantial changes in greenhouse gases and continental positions. Through a suite of coupled model simulations on tectonic timescales, we demonstrate that the PWC was ～38?broader and ～5% more intense during the Early Eocene relative to present. As the climate cooled from the Early Eocene to the Late Miocene, the width of the PWC shrank, accompanied by an increase in intensity that was tied to the enhanced Pacific zonal temperature gradient. However, the locations of the western and eastern branches behave differently from the Early Eocene to the Late Miocene,with the western edge remaining steady with time due to the relatively stable geography of the western tropical Pacific; the eastern edge migrates westward with time as the South american continent moves northwest. A transition occurs in the PWC between the Late Miocene and Late Pliocene, manifested by an eastward shift(both the western and eastern edges migrate eastward by >12?) and weakening(by ～22%),which we show here is linked with the closure of the tropical seaways. Moreover, our results suggest that rising CO2favors a weaker PWC under the same land-sea configurations, a robust feature across the large spread of Cenozoic climates considered here, supporting a weakening of the PWC in a warmer future.

Objectives:chinese medicine doctors have practiced in the United States since April of 1854,the world's first chinese medicine doctor's memorial is Kam Wah Chung Museum in John Day,Oregon,U.S.,to commemorate *** Hay(“Doc Hay”伍于念)and his business partner Lung On(梁光荣).There were few studies to explore Doc Hay's real practice and prescription,while most of papers focused on Doc Hay's legend *** paper aims to analyze and interpret one of the intriguing herbal prescriptions that Doc Hay had *** and Methods:*** Yin Fan made an academic travel to Kam Wah Chung museum on August 5,2018 and examined the books and hand-written prescriptions of Doc Hay,which were not exhibited to the public at that *** paper analyzes and interprets one of herbal prescriptions that Doc Hay had hand-written in *** process included four steps:(1):Transform Doc Hay's hand-written prescription(with original herb names)to standard herb names in chinese.(2):Induct and rearrange the herb name into groups based on herb property characteristics and then translate them into both PinYin names and English *** of the prescription may include in what classic formula(s)routinely introduced in chinese medicine textbooks.(3):Analyze the herbal action for each group and potential symptoms or conditions the patient may have *** analysis of classic formula(s)used in the prescription may represent what clinical condition was being treated at that time.(4):Combine the analysis to give a comprehensive picture of the ***:The prescription consists of 67 herbs,total 934.6 grams,and including Yin Qiao Powder(银翘散),Sang Ju Decoction(桑菊饮),Zhi Sou Powder(止嗽散),Qing Ying Decoction(清营汤),Xi Jiao Di Huang Decoction(犀角地黄汤),Long Dan Xie Gan Decoction(龙胆泻肝汤)and Chai Hu Shu Gan Powder(柴胡疏肝散).Speculation indicated that the prescription was for a patient who had obvious pulmonary infection accompanied by severe cough,and probably had prolonged pulmonary

Quaternary palynology in the Tibetan Plateau(TP)was initiated in the 1960s to meet the needs of economic development in western *** analysis was conducted for the first time on a 200-m long core of Quaternary lacustrine sediments taken from the main body of the TP in order to study pollen assemblages as well as vegetation and climate changes of glacial(cold)/interglacial(warm)*** analysis of alpine snow and ice began at the first scientific expedition to the TP in the *** the 1980s,a series of international collaborative programs were carried out under Sino-French,Sino-German,Sino-Australian,and Sino-american cooperation,marking the integration of chinese Quaternary palynology society with the international *** methods for Quaternary palynology were gradually promoted and applied,changing the vegetational and climatic interpretation of Quaternary palynology from qualitative to *** the 1990s,many palynologists have carried out extensive Quaternary palynological studies on fossil pollen sites of more than 60 lakes/sections and alpine glaciers in the TP to discuss the spatiotemporal vegetation changes and climatic and environmental evolution of the TP since the *** the past half-century,Quaternary palynology in the TP has contributed to the establishment of the chinese Quaternary pollen database and the study of vegetation and climate evolution since the Last Glacial Maximum(LGM)in the *** available pollen records revealed the spatial and temporal distribution of vegetation in the TP since the LGM,exhibiting expansions and shrinkages of forest,meadow,grassland and desert in different periods such as the LGM,the last deglaciation,and Holocene optimum *** paleomonsoon reflected by paleovegetation since the LGM has undergone the changes of weak-strengthening-strong-weakening but still active-shrinking,which is mainly affected by solar insolation.
