Food plant extracts for sleep-related skin health: Mechanisms and prospects

Chronic sleep deficiency, a public health epidemic, triggers an elevated risk for physical and mental disorders and may cause unpleasant sensations or experiences in daily life. Importantly, sleep-associated skin diseases attract public attention because most people have anxiety about their facial appearance in modern society. Amounts of health food, especially derived from edible and efficient plant extracts, have been developed for skincare via improvement of sleep quality. Mechanisms of good sleep and healthy skin have been studied, however, the relationship between sleep-promoting herbs and skincare is less elucidated. In this review, we summarize the main signaling pathways of neurotransmitter-mediated skin beauty and list dozens of functional plant extracts for sleep assistance. We conclude several plant candidates for oral cosmetics application through sleep-related neurotransmitters regulation. This review provides pieces of evidence for the application of oral cosmetic food derived from plant extracts in sleep-related beauty.

collagen,the most abundant structural protein in the human extracellular matrix(ECM),provides essential support for tissues and guides tissue *** its widespread use in tissue engineering,there remains uncertainty regarding the optimal selection of collagen ***-derived sources pose challenges such as immunogenicity,while the recombinant system is hindered by diminished *** this study,we hypothesized that human ECM-like collagen(hcol)could offer an alternative for tissue *** this study,a facile platform was provided for generating hcol derived from mesenchymal stem cells with a hierarchical structure and biochemical properties resembling native *** results further demonstrated that hcol could facilitate basal biological behaviors of human adipose-derived stem cells,including viability,proliferation,migration and adipocyte-like ***,it could promote cutaneous wound *** to its high similarity to native collagen and good bioactivity,hcol holds promise as a prospective candidate for in vitro and in vivo applications in tissue engineering.

In the present study,two new acetylene conjugate compounds,dibutyl(2Z,6Z)-octa-2,6-dien-4-yne dioate(1),and dibutyl(2E,6E)-octa-2,6-dien-4-yne dioate(2),were isolated from the dry stem leaves of Viscum album,along with nine known compounds(3–11).Their structures were confirmed on the basis of spectroscopic *** 1 and 8 showed antioxidant activity against xanthine oxidase(XOD)and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical 2,2-diphenyl-1-(2,4,6-trinitrophenyl)hydroxyl(DPPH),with the IC_(50) of 1.22 and 1.33μmol·L^(–1),and the SC_(50 )of 4.34 and 8.22μmol·L^(–1),respectively.

Studying the skin care efficacy of recombinant humanized collagen based on in vitro *** stability of the recombinant humanized collagen was first analyzed by treating at different temperatures,then its skincare efficacy based on in vitro level was evaluated by detecting the inhibition rate of elastase,the inhibition rate of collagenase,the protein content of type I collagen in human fibroblasts,the inhibition of reactive oxygen species(ROS)with human keratinocytes,and the effects of the recombinant humanized collagen on the expression of hyaluronic acid(HA),filaggrin(FLG)and transglutaminase 1(TGM1)in *** results showed that recombinant humanized collagen was able to maintain stability at temperatures below 70℃.With regard to its skincare efficacy,recombinant humanized collagen could inhibit elastase and collagenase activities and promote the increase of type I collagen content in human *** also showed good inhibition of ROS in keratinocytes in vitro and could increase the expression of HA,FLG,and TGM1 in *** short,the recombinant humanized collagen exhibited a favourable skin care effect in vitro *** study proved that it has potential firming,anti-wrinkle,moisturizing,and repairing efficacy,and is a valuable cosmetic raw material.

The title compound 4-(2-acetonyl-selanyl-benzamido) benzoic acid was synthesized and its structure was determined by NMR, HR MS and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The crystal belongs to monoclinic, space group P21/n, with a = 5.18537(19), b = 18.9308(7), c = 16.6586(5) ?, b = 95.857(3)°, V = 1626.72(10) ?3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.536 g/cm3, m = 3.302 mm-1, F(000) = 760, the final R = 0.0466 and wR = 0.1353 for 2308 observed reflections with I > 2σ(I). In silico docking studies were carried out to evaluate the anti-ischemic stroke activities for twenty-one ischemic stroke associated proteins by Autodock 4.2 software. The title compound has better activity against ischemic stroke than Ebselen.

The title compound,1-（2-（1 H-indol-3-yl）ethyl）-3-（2-methoxyphenyl）urea（C（18）H（19）N3O2,Mr = 309.36） has been synthesized,and its structure was characterized by ^1H-NMR,^13C-NMR,ESI-MS and single-crystal X-ray *** crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with a = 16.2774（15）,b = 11.1082（10）,c = 9.0819（3） A,β = 103.09（9）°,V = 1599.5（3） A^3,Z = 4,T = 293（2） K,μ（MoKα） = 0.086 mm^（-1,Dc = 1.285 g/cm^3,F（000） = 656 and GOOF = 0.981.5973 reflections were measured（7.04≤2θ≤52.04°）,and 3143 were unique（Rint= 0.0393,Rsigma = 0.0546） and used in all *** final R = 0.0756（I 〉 2σ（I）） and w R = 0.1976（all data）.The antitumor activity of the title compound was analyzed by MTT ***,to rationalize its potencies in the CDK4 target,the title compound was docked into CDK4 protein and the interactions with the active site residues were analyzed.

Utilization of the intestinal lymphatic pathway will allow extraordinary gains in lymph and tumors cascade-targeted delivery of oral drugs and awakening the innate/adaptive immunity of the body and the lesion microenvironment,in addition to improving oral bioavailability relative to other means of delivery of oral ***,inspired by the specific invasion route of intestinal microorganisms,we pioneered an immune-awakening Saccharomyces-inspired mesoporous silicon nanoparticle(yMSN)for the ingenious cascade-targeted delivery of therapeutic cancer vaccines and antitumor drugs to lymph and tumors via the intestinal lymphatic ***,yMSN high-loaded tumor-specific antigens(OVA,11.9%)and anti-tumor drugs(Len,28.6%)with high stability,namely Len/OVA/yMSN,efficiently co-delivered OVA and Len to their desired target ***,yMSN concomitantly awakened the innate antitumor immunity of dendritic cells and macrophages,strengthening vaccine-induced adaptive immune responses and reversing macrophage-associated immunosuppression in the tumor ***,Len/OVA/yMSN treatment resulted in excellent synergistic antitumor efficacy and long-term antitumor memory in OVA-Hepa1-6-bearing *** high-performance nanocarrier provides a novel approach for lesion-targeting delivery of oral drugs accompanied with awakening of the innate/adaptive immunity of the lesion environment,and also represents a novel path for the oral delivery of diverse therapeutic agents targeting other lymph-mediated diseases.

AIM To determine whether oral glutathione(GSH)administration can alleviate the effects of fasting-induced intestinal atrophy in the small intestinal mucosa. Preparation and Characterization of Lung-targeting Cefquinome-loaded PLGA Microspheres

We developed poly lactic-co-glycolic acid（PLGA） microspheres loaded with cefquinome and tested their effectiveness in a mouse model. The microspheres were prepared by optimizing several key parameters such as PLGA molecular weight, drug/polymer ratio, internal water volume and ethyl acetate. Drug loading efficiency, stability, in vitro release and tissue distribution in mouse were evaluated. The average particle size of the microspheres was 27.84 μm. The drug loading efficiency was 64.57%. The in vitro release of cefquinome from microspheres after 4 h was about 40% compared with over 90% for the drug alone. The concentration of cefquinome in lung reached 25 μg/g 0.25 h after injection, and kept at 10 μg/g 4 h after injection. However, the concentration of cefquinome was very low in other organs even 0.25 h after injection. In conclusion, Cefquinome-loaded PLGA microspheres are compatible as an effective lung-targeting drug delivery system and have a good sustained release efficacy.
