Background:Jianqu has been used to alleviate symptoms in patients with functional dyspepsia,but its specific anti-functional dyspepsia effect is still ***,our study aimed to investigate the impact of Jianqu on functional dyspepsia in ***:The phytochemical profile of Jianqu was analyzed by ***,Kunming mice were fed a high-calorie or high-protein diet(HCHP)for 7 days,and then orally treated with vehicle or Jianqu(1.62 g/kg body weight(b.w.)and 3.25 g/kg b.w.)for 10 days.A carbon powder solution was used to detect the gastric emptying and intestinal transit *** pathological changes in stomach and duodenum were evaluated by hematoxylin-eosin *** occludin,claudin-1,ZO-1 and CD45 expression was measured by immunocytochemical ***,the serum gastrointestinal hormones were detected by *** addition,the gut microbiota composition was determined using 16S rRNA gene *** cecal short chain fatty acids were assessed by gas ***:In general,17 phytochemical compounds were identified from Jianqu,which significantly improved the gastric emptying rate and intestinal transit rate(p<0.01),increased the body weight and food intake(p<0.0001)in HCHP mice as *** HCHP did not cause significant pathological lesions in the gastrointestinal tract,increased the expression of CD45 in the duodenum(p<0.05)was ***,Jianqu attenuated this abnormal expression of CD45(p<0.05).The levels of serum gastrointestinal hormones were significantly normalized by Jianqu intervention(p<0.05).Moreover,Jianqu increased the relative abundance of Roseburia as well as short chain fatty acids levels in cecum(p<0.05).Conclusion:The present results showed that Jianqu alleviated dyspeptic symptoms in HCHP mice possibly through reducing the duodenal leukocyte infiltration,and regulating the expression of gastrointestinal *** effects may be partly related to the increasing cecal short ch

Ginsenoside Rb3 prevents myocardial injury in sleep-deprived mice by suppressing ferroptosis through SIRT3/P53/SCL7A11/GPX4 axis

Ginsenoside Rb3 (GRb3) is an active ingredient extracted from Panax ginseng， which is known to enhance blood supply to heart and treat a variety of cardiac diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of GRb3 on myocardial injury induced by sleep deprivation and its mechanisms. GRb3 20 mg/kg group showed lower heart rate (438.2 ± 10.06 bpm)， Creatine kinase (27.43 ± 2.85 U / mg prot) and Lactate dehydrogenase (412.9 ± 35.65 U / L) than SD group (592.0 ± 7.78 bpm， 44.18 ± 1.24 U / mg prot， 526.6 ± 38.18 U / L). GRb3 improved myocardial tissue damage and abnormal mitochondrial morphological changes. GRb3 also reduced the abnormal proteins expression of Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP)， Sirtuin3 (SIRT3)， Tumor Protein P53 (P53)， Solute Carrier Family 7 (SLC7A11)， Glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4)， Transferrin Receptor Protein 1 (TFRC)， Acyl-CoA synthetase long chain family member 4 (ACSL4)， Heme Oxygenase-1 (HO-1)， Ferritin heavy polypeptide 1 (FTH1)， Ferroptosis suppressor protein 1 (FSP1). GRb3 ameliorated oxidative stress， such as Malondialdehyde (MDA，)， Glutathione (GSH)， and Superoxide dismutase (SOD). GRb3 also decreased Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) content， restored cellular abnormal mitochondrial morphology and reversed the expression of ferroptosis-related proteins on H9c2 cells pretreated with Erastin. While the above effect could be reversed by 3-TYP. In summary， GRb3 exerts cardioprotective effects by regulating SIRT3/P53/SCL7A11/GPX4 axis to inhibit myocardial ferroptosis in sleep deprived mice. The findings imply that GRb3 holds promising potential for innovative approaches to safeguarding human cardiac health.

Potential efficacy and mechanism of eight mild-natured and bitterflavored TCMs based on gut microbiota:A review

The mild-natured and bitter-flavored traditional chinese medicines(MB-TCMs)are an important class of TCMs that have been widely used in clinical practice and recognized as safe long-term treatments for chronic ***,as an important class of TCMs,the panorama of pharmacological effects and the mechanisms of MB-TCMs have not been systemically *** studies have shown that gut microbiota can mediate the therapeutic activity of TCMs and help to elucidate the core principles of TCM medicinal *** this systematic review,we found that MB-TCMs commonly participated in the modulation of metabolic syndrome,intestinal inflammation,nervous system disease and cardiovascular system disease in association with promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria Bacteroides,Akkermansia,Lactobacillus,Bifidobacterium,Roseburia as well as inhibiting the proliferation of harmful bacteria Helicobacter,Enterococcus,Desulfovibrio and *** alterations,correspondingly,enhance the generation of protective metabolites,mainly including short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs),bile acid(BAs),5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT),indole and gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA),and inhibit the generation of harmful metabolites,such as proinflammatory factors trimethylamine oxide(TAMO)and lipopolysaccharide(LPS),to further exert multiplicative effects for the maintenance of human health through several different signaling ***,this present review has attempted to comprehensively summarize the relationship between MB-TCMs and gut microbiota by establishing the TCMs-gut microbiota-metabolite-signaling pathway-diseases axis,which may provide new insight into the study of TCM medicinal theories and their clinical applications.

As a traditional chinese herbal medicine,Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus(SC)has been used in medicine and food industry due to its health care and therapeutic *** the past 20 years,the use of SC and its active ingredient lignans in the prevention and treatment of liver diseases has been increasing,and their hepatoprotective effects has increased the interest of the public and ***,in the present work,we first determined the effectiveness of SC in the treatment of liver diseases such as metabolic associated fatty liver disease,alcoholic liver disease,cholestatic liver disease and acute liver ***,the pharmacological effects and molecular mechanisms of lignans,the active components of SC,for liver disease treatment were comprehensively summarized for the first *** results showed that the lignans in SC could achieve hepatoprotective effects by regulating lipid metabolism,anti-fibrosis,anti-inflammation,anti-oxidation,anti-tumor and regulating bile acid *** mechanism mainly involved adenosine 5’-monophosphate-activated protein kinase,endoplasmic reticulum stress,sterol regulatory element binding protein 1c,autophagy,transforming growth factor-β,mitogen-activated protein kinase,microRNA,nuclear factor kappa-B,nuclear factor erythroid-2-related factor 2,heat shock proteins and pregnane X receptor signaling *** results can lay a scientific foundation for the development of hepatoprotective drugs or functional foods from SC/lignans.

Efficacy and safety of chinese herbal medicine as adjunctive therapy in sepsis patients with bloodstream infection:a propensity-matched analysis

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy and safety of chinese herbal medicine in treating sepsis patients with bloodstream ***:A 6-year retrospective study was carried out at a university hospital in *** sepsis patients with bloodstream infection were *** primary outcome was 28-day mortality after *** score method was used to adjust for possible confounding.28-day mortality was estimated by KaplanMeier analysis and compared using the log-rank *** regression analysis was carried out to identify factors impacting in-hospital mortality ***:Following the application of the propensity score method,a total of 176 patients were *** all-cause 28-day mortality in the control group and chinese herbal medicine group was 21.6%and 14.8%,***-Meier survival analysis showed that chinese herbal medicine was associated with a lower hazard ratio(HR)in all-cause 28-day death compared with the control group[HR=0.44,95%CI(0.22,0.90),P0.05).Blood-activating and stasis-eliminating herb administration was associated with reduced inhospital mortality among sepsis patients with bloodstream infection[HR=0.54,95%CI(0.34,0.94),Pchinese herbal medicine,especially the blood-activating and stasis-eliminating herb,might have certain efficacy and safety in treating sepsis patients with bloodstream *** should prescribe blood-activating and stasis-eliminating herb in treating these two coalescent critical diseases as long as no contraindications ***,further studies are needed to validate our results.
