Subretinal fibrosis is the end-stage sequelae of neovascular age-related macular *** causes local damage to photoreceptors,retinal pigment epithelium,and choroidal vessels,which leads to permanent central vision loss of patients with neovascular age-related macular *** pathogenesis of subretinal fibrosis is complex,and the underlying mechanisms are largely ***,there are no effective treatment options.A thorough understanding of the pathogenesis of subretinal fibrosis and its related mechanisms is important to elucidate its complications and explore potential *** current article reviews several aspects of subretinal fibrosis,including the current understanding on the relationship between neovascular age-related macular degeneration and subretinal fibrosis;multimodal imaging techniques for subretinal fibrosis;animal models for studying subretinal fibrosis;cellular and non-cellular constituents of subretinal fibrosis;pathophysiological mechanisms involved in subretinal fibrosis,such as aging,infiltration of macrophages,different sources of mesenchymal transition to myofibroblast,and activation of complement system and immune cells;and several key molecules and signaling pathways participating in the pathogenesis of subretinal fibrosis,such as vascular endothelial growth factor,connective tissue growth factor,fibroblast growth factor 2,platelet-derived growth factor and platelet-derived growth factor receptor-β,transforming growth factor-βsignaling pathway,Wnt signaling pathway,and the axis of heat shock protein 70-Toll-like receptors 2/*** review will improve the understanding of the pathogenesis of subretinal fibrosis,allow the discovery of molecular targets,and explore potential treatments for the management of subretinal fibrosis.

Clinicians’prescription preferences for treating patients with Alzheimer’s disease in Shanghai

Background:China has more cases of Alzheimer’s disease(AD)than any other country in the *** training to recognize and manage dementia is in its early stage,it is important to study clinicians’current prescription preferences for treating patients with ***:This study surveyed neurologists,psychiatrists,and general physicians(GPs)in Shanghai who had outpatients with AD,using a questionnaire asking about their prescription preferences for these ***:Among the 148 clinicians in the study,26.4%were psychiatrists,44.6%were neurologists,and 29.1%were *** groups did not differ significantly in age,gender,or their monthly cases of new patients with mild or moderate AD(P>0.05).Most clinicians prescribed Cholinesterase inhibitors(ChEIs),including Huperzine A,but there were significant group-differences in prescribing specific ChEIs(P0.05),and all three groups prescribed piracetam,ergot,and ginkgo biloba *** three groups also tended to treat AD patients with a combination of antidepressants and anxiolytics,although psychiatrists were significantly more likely than neurologists to combine antipsychotics with other drugs(P<0.05).Conclusion:Clinicians in Shanghai prescribed low doses of ChEIs and Memantine for patients with AD.A relatively high proportion also prescribed cognitive enhancers,which lack evidence-based support of their use,and *** is a need for more training about treating patients with AD and for clinicians to standardize their clinical practice.

Spraying Arginine at 5 Days before Harvest Delays Postharvest Broccoli Senescence via Nutrient Accumulation

To determine the effects of preharvest arginine spraying on the nutritional level of broccoli and the mechanism of action of arginine in improving the storage quality of broccoli,arginine spraying(5 mmol/L)was conducted at 0,1,3,and 5 days before *** appearance,respiration rate,mass-loss rate,electrolyte leakage,glucosinolate,ascorbic acid,total phenol,total flavonoid,total sugar and sucrose contents,and sucrose phosphate synthase(SPS),invertase(INV),sucrose synthase synthesis(SSS)and cleavage(SSC)activities of broccoli samples were observed after 0,2,4,6,8,and 10 days of *** results showed that spraying arginine at 5 days preharvest(5-ARG)helped to inhibit broccoli respiration during storage,delay electrolyte leakage,and maintain broccoli ***,during the growth stage,total sugar accumulation was higher in the 5-ARG *** addition,during the storage period,sucrose synthesis was accelerated,while sucrose cleavage was inhibited,resulting in more sucrose retention in postharvest *** conclusion,5-ARG resulted in the accumulation of more nutrients during the growth process and effectively delayed the quality decline during storage,thereby prolonging the shelf life of ***,this study provides a theoretical basis for improving postharvest storage characteristics of broccoli through preharvest treatments.

Analysis of influencing factors of visual working memory in young adult patients with schizophrenia

To provide evidence for cognitive impairment interventions, the present study explored the factors influencing the deficits of patients' visual working *** The present study discussed the relevant factors influencing the visual working memory of patients with schizophrenia by measuring the accuracy of the visual working memory of patients with schizophrenia and healthy *** Colour-recall paradigm was employed to measure the accuracy of the visual working memory of 61 healthy controls and 61 patients who met the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia. The age range of subjects was18-50. Scale for the Assessment of Positive Symptoms(SAPS) and Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms(SANS) were used to evaluate the patients' clinical *** Compared with the healthy control group, the accuracy of visual working memory of patients with schizophrenia was significantly impaired(t=3.062,p=0.003). Birth is the transition from fetal life to ectopic life. This transition is usually smooth. Only 10% of newborns will need birth assistance. Successful resuscitation is linked to the skills of the health worker. It is to assess their skills that this work was undertaken with the objective of evaluating the practice of neonatal resuscitation in the delivery room of the RHC maternity hospital in district V of Bamako. Methodology: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study over a four-month period. We included in the study all live newborns who had a gestational age greater than or equal to 32 weeks and who had an Apgar score at the first minute of less than 7. At each birth, we observe the health agent responsible for the care of the newborn by observing the preparation of resuscitation and compliance with the neonatal resuscitation algorithm. We have excluded all newborns who met our inclusion criteria, were reanimated outside of our collection time and had visible or diagnosed anomalies or malformations in the prenatal period, and those whose parents refused to give their consent to participate in the study. Data were collected from the survey sheet and analyzed with the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software version 25. Results: We observed a 24.66% frequency of neonatal resuscitation. Pregnancies were too close in 15% (less than one year). Caesarean section delivery represented 34% of the sample. They were at term in 93% of cases. All newborns were well dried (98.5%), with wet linen change only at 49.5%. Apgar was less than 3 in 7.5% of newborns at first. The resuscitation needs were for the absence of a scream in 78.5% of cases and or heart rate Conclusion: The study evaluated neonatal resuscitation practices at a maternity hospital in Bamako, Mali. Introduction: Uterine fibroid is a mixed mesenchymal tumor, developing from smooth muscle cells of the myometrium, separated by connective tissue. The majority of fibroids are asymptomatic and do not require any intervention or other exploratory measures. However, in some cases fibroids are symptomatic, their treatment should aim to improve symptoms and quality of life. Objectives: Describe the epidemiological-clinical aspects of uterine fibroids in the gynecology and obstetrics department of the reference health center of commune VI of the Bamako district. Methodology: This was a retrospective descriptive study carried out over a period of one year. It concerns all patients seen in consultation in the gynecology and obstetrics department of the reference health center of commune VI. Results: during the study period, the uterine fibroid frequency was 1.80%. During this same period, fibroids represented 5.59% of gyneco-obstetric pathologies operated on in the department. The 30 - 45 year old age group was the most represented with a frequency of 75.63%. The average age was 36.87 years ± 6.2 years with extremes of 25 and 63 years. Married women were the most represented 97.48%. The vast majority of our patients 95.8% were not postmenopausal. The multigravidas were the most represented, i.e. 37.50% with a large part of the pauciparous 41.29%. In our patients, 96.64% had a clinical symptom on their fibroid with the main reason for consultation being the sensation of a pelvic mass in 97.48%. We recorded three cases of infertility as associated factors. Ultrasound was performed in all patients. The location of the myxomatous nuclei was subserosal in the majority in 42.86% and with multiple nodules in 84.85% of cases. The main indication for myomectomy was the failure of medical treatment in 86.49% of cases. Surgical treatment was mainly a myomectomy 93.30%, a hysterectomy was indicated in 6.70%. 背景：大脑中γ-氨基丁酸（γ-aminobutyric acid,GABA）的浓度和功能异常不仅是精神分裂症的一个重要病因学假说,而且也可能与认知功能下降和精神分裂症阴性症状相关。运用高场强磁共振波谱分析（magnetic resonance spectroscopy,MRS）的研究发现慢性精神分裂症患者额叶腹内侧（ventromedial prefrontal cortex,vmP FC）的GABA异常浓度,但患者既往使用抗精神病药物可能会对这些结果产生混杂。目标：比较首发精神病患者和健康对照组vmP FC中的GABA浓度,并评估vmP FC中GABA浓度与精神病性症状严重程度之间的关系。方法：共纳入22例首发精神病患者（10例精神分裂症患者和12例精神分裂样障碍患者）和23名健康对照者,应用单体素^1H-MRS来检测vmP FC中的GABA和其它代谢产物的浓度。22例患者中13例患者没有用过药物,9例患者使用抗精神病药物少于3天。采用阳性和阴性症状量表（the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale,PANSS）评估患者组的精神病症状严重程度。结果：患者组vmP FC的GABA浓度的均值（SD）显著高于对照组（2.28[0.54]v.1.93[0.32]mM,t=2.62,p=0.012）。其它代谢产物的浓度——包括N-乙酰天冬氨酸（N-acetylaspartic acid,NAA）、谷氨酸（glutamic acid,GLU）和谷氨酰胺（glutamine,GLN）,在患者组和对照组之间没有显著差异。患者vmP FC中的GABA浓度与PANSS总分或三个PANSS分量表（阳性症状、阴性症状、一般精神病理）中的任何一个评分之间没有显著相关性。GABA浓度与病程之间无相关性,但与患者年龄显著相关（r=0.47,p=0.026）。结论：首发精神病患者vmP FC中的GABA浓度升高证实了该异常情况与药物使用是相互独立的。我们需要更大规模的研究来证实vmP FC中的GABA浓度与精神病症状严重程度之间不存在相关性,但这也提示脑部病理变化与临床症状之间存在若干个中间环节。

How psychiatrists coordinate treatment for COVID-19: a retrospective study and experience from China
