How rotational speed of planetary ball mill and polymer load influence the performance and water vapor sorption in solid dispersions composed of tadalafil and soluplus

Radioprotective thermally generated free-radical dextrins

Effect of doses of the X-ray radiation from 0 to 400 Gy upon granular cornstarch and dextrins (British gums, BG) thermally generated from it at 230-300℃ was recognized with quantitative EPR and IR ab-sorption spectroscopy, molecular mass distribution in the depolymerization products, Scanning Elec-tron Microscopy, and X-ray diffractometry. Fractal analysis of the profiles of molecular mass distribu-tion showed that the depolymerization involved debranching of amylopectin. Roasting of cornstarch produced BG which differed in concentration and EPR parameters of stable free radicals from BG generated by X-ray radiation. Two types of stable free radicals, with Gaussian and Lorentzian shapes of EPR signals, were recognized. The shapes of the signals and temperature dependence on free radical intensity indicated exchanging interactions of the antiferromagnetic type, causing partial quenching of the spins at-196℃ (77K). Upon X-ray irradiation, new radicals were generated, the number and stability of which strongly depended on the types of radicals present before irradiation. These radicals slowly ceased because of a repolymerization of BG on storage.

Key changes across valley floors in mountain areas affected by different levels of human impact: a case study of the Ochotnica river catchment in the Polish Carpathians

The goal of this paper was to present knowledge on changes in the morphodynamic structure of the Ochotnica River(Polish Carpathians)and transformations within its active river zone since the end of the 19th *** study used a set of archival and contemporary cartographic materials and the results of three-fold field mapping of the morphodynamic structure of the *** and indirect human interference with the natural environment of the catchment and the fluvial system was taken into account in the *** of changes in the morphodynamic structure of the Ochotnica and its active river zone since the end of the 19th century indicated significant changes in the development trend of the *** contemporary structure of the Ochotnica is more complex than in the *** has been a fragmentation of the riverbed into sections with different morphodynamic *** proportion of erosive sections has increased,which explains the reduced in the width of the active river zone of the *** average width of the active river zone of the river between 1861 and 2022 has changed from 80 m to 18 *** impact has been identified as the main reason for the changes in the morphodynamic structure of the riverbed and its active river ***,only the unregulated sect ion is characterised by free lateral migration of the riverbed and the widest active river zone(~28 m).

Changes in the gut mycobiome in pediatric patients in relation to the clinical activity of Crohn's disease

Virulence factors of Enterococcus strains isolated from patients with inflammatory bowel disease

AIM: To determine the features of Enterococcus that contribute to the development and maintenance of the inflammatory process in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). METHODS: Multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was applied to assess the presence of genes that encode virulence factors [surface aggregating protein (asa1), gelatinase (gelE), cytolysin (cylA), extracellular surface protein (esp) and hyaluronidase (hyl)] in the genomic DNA of 28 strains of Enterococcus isolated from the intestinal tissues of children with IBD (n =16) and of children without IBD (controls; n = 12). Additionally, strains with confirmed presence of the gelE gene were tested by PCR for the presence of quorum sensing genes (fsrA, fsrB, fsrC) that control the gelatinase production. Gelatinase activity was tested on agar plates containing 1.6% gelatin. We also analysed the ability of Enterococcus strains to release and decompose hydrogen peroxide (using Analytical Merckoquant peroxide test strips) and tested their ability to adhere to Caco-2 human gut epithelium cells and form biofilms in vitro. RESULTS: A comparison of the genomes of Enterococcus strains isolated from the inflamed mucosa of patients with IBD with those of the control group showed statistically significant differences in the frequency of theasa1 gene and thegelE gene. Furthermore, the cumulative occurrence of different virulence genes in the genome of a single strain ofEnterococcus isolated from the IBD patient group is greater than in a strain from the control group, although no significant difference was found. Statistically significant differences in the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and adherence to the Caco-2 epithelial cell line between the strains from the patient group and control group were demonstrated. Intestinal parameters of oxidative imbalance in celiac adults with extraintestinal manifestations

AIM To evaluate selected intestinal parameters of oxidative stress, and antioxidant capacity in adult celiac disease patients with extraintestinal *** The study involved 85 adult patients divided into the following subgroups:(1) patients with newly diagnosed celiac disease(CD)(n = 7);(2) celiac patients not adhering to a gluten-free diet(GFD)(n = 22);(3) patients with CD on the GFD(n = 31); and(4) patients with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, serving as controls(n = 25). Celiac patients presented with non-classic symptoms or extraintestinal manifestations. Standard blood tests including serum antioxidant levels(uric acid, bilirubin, and vitamin D), celiac antibody levels, and histopathological status of duodenal biopsy specimens have been determined. The expression of m RNA for tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α), interleukin 1β(IL-1β), interleukin 10(IL-10), superoxide dismutase(SOD), heat-shock protein 70(HSP-70), hypoxia-inducible factor 1(HIF-1α), and BAX in the duodenal mucosa of patients was analyzed by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS The mean plasma uric acid level in patients with active CD(newly diagnosed and nonadherent patients) and treated celiac patients was significantly higher than in controls(260.17 ± 53.65 vs 190.8 ± 22.98, P < 0.001, and 261.7 ± 51.79 vs 190.8 ± 22.98, P < 0.001, respectively). The mean bilirubin concentration in active and treated celiac patients was significantly lower than in controls(8.23 ± 5.04 vs 10.48 ± 4.08, P < 0.05 and 8.06 ± 3.31 vs 10.48 ± 4.08, P < 0.05, respectively). The mean plasma vitamin D level was significantly lower in active celiac patients than in treated celiac patients and controls(19.37 ± 9.03 vs 25.15 ± 11.2, P < 0.05 and 19.37 ± 9.03 vs 29.67 ± 5.12, P < 0.001, respectively). Author as a Medium： Strategies of Embodiment of Text in Poetry Slam

Dana Gioia in her publication Disappearing Ink： Poetry at the End of Print Culture, draws attention to the increasing popularity of oral forms of poetry--rap, cowboy poetry, poetry slams and performance poetry According to Gioia, transformation of author ＂from an invisible creator of typographic language to a physical presence performing aloud＂, leads to formulation of a strong antithesis for Barthes＇＂death of the author＂, namely ＂death of the text＂. In her paper, Gioia assumes that the appearance of the author in his physical presence on stage performing text is equivalent to rebirth of an author and his restoration of power over the meaning of text. This assumption results from a strong division between the process of production and the process of reception of text, which maintains a strong opposition among author, text, and reader. This paper presents slam poetry as an event, during which prepared, written text merges with spoken word susceptible to voices from the audience. This fusion leads to rejection of strong division between production and reception of text and thus between author and reader making all of them participants. Print medium is replaced with living body, which responds to the audience and their reception of text. Text is no longer perceived as an artifact, but as a performative process focused on interaction between participants, which cannot exist outside the event
