Colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals(NCs)attract significant interest in recent years due to their narrow and tunable emission wavelength in the visible range,as well as high photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY),which are highly desired in display *** high-quality NCs have been recognized as vital luminescent materials in realizing next-generation display *** further development,NCs with near-unity PLQY have been successfully synthesized through engineering of the core/shell ***,as the external quantum efficiency(EQE)of the nanocrystal light-emitting diodes(LEDs)approaches the theoretical limit of about 20%,the low out-coupling factor proposes a challenge of enhancing the performance of a device when using the spherical ***,the anisotropic NCs like nanoplatelets(NPLs)are proposed as promising solutions to improve the performance of nanocrystal *** this review,we will summarize the synthetic strategies of twodimensional(2D)NPLs at ***,we will introduce fundamental concepts of LEDs,the main approaches to realize LEDs based on nanoplatelets,and the recent ***,the challenges and opportunities of LEDs based on anisotropic NCs are also presented.

Hepatitis C virus(HCV) has infected over 170 million people worldwide and creates a huge disease burden due to chronic, progressive liver disease. HCV is a singlestranded, positive sense, RNA virus, member of the Flaviviridae family. The high error rate of RNA-dependent RNA polymerase and the pressure exerted by the host immune system, has driven the evolution of HCV into 7 different genotypes and more than 67 subtypes. HCV evolves by means of different mechanisms of genetic variation. On the one hand, its high mutation rates generate the production of a large number of different but closely related viral variants during infection, usually referred to as a quasispecies. The great quasispecies variability of HCV has also therapeutic implications since the continuous generation and selection of resistant or fitter variants within the quasispecies spectrum might allow viruses to escape control by antiviral drugs. On the other hand HCV exploits recombination to ensure its survival. This enormous viral diversity together with some host factors has made it difficult to control viral dispersal. Current treatment options involve pegylated interferon-α and ribavirin as dual therapy or in combination with a direct-acting antiviral drug, depending on the country. Despite all the efforts put into antiviral therapy studies, eradication of the virus or the development of a preventive vaccine has been unsuccessful so far. This review focuses on current available data reported to date on the genetic mechanisms driving the molecular evolution of HCV populations and its relation with the antiviral therapies designed to control HCV infection.

An efficient redox neutral N-heteroannulation reaction has been developed to selective access unexpected unsymmetrical fulleropyrrolidines and diverse disubstituted 1-fulleropyrrolines using a very simple Cu catalyst system in the absence of an external oxidant or any other additive. The N-O bond of O-acetyloximes serves as a triggered-reaction handle and an internal oxidant in this transformation. The reaction features with readily available starting materials, simple operation, a broad substrate scope and nice functional-group tolerance, applicability to synthesis of fullerene-based macromolecules and large-scale manufacturing, providing a practical method for the diversified synthesis of a series of unique fullerenes derivatives.

Ordered mesoporous NiFe_2O_4 with ultrathin framework for low-ppb toluene sensing

Highly sensitive and selective detection against specific target gases, especially at low-ppb （part per bil- lion） level, remain a great number of challenges in gas sensor applications. In this paper, we first present an ordered mesoporous NiFe204 for highly sensitive and selective detection against low-ppb toluene. A series of mesoporous NiFe204 materials were synthesized by templating from mesoporous silica KIT-6 and its framework thickness was reduced from 8.5 to 5 nm by varying the pore size of KIT-6 from 9.4 to 5.6 nm, accompanied with the increase of the specific surface area from 134 to 216 m^2 g^-1. The ordered mesoporous NiFe2O4 with both ultrathin framework of 5 nm and large specific surface area of up to 216 m^2 g^-1 exhibits a highest response （Rgas/Ralr-1 = 77.3） toward 1,000 ppb toluene at 230℃ and is nearly 7.3 and 76.7 times higher than those for the NiFe204 replica with thick framework and its bulk counter- part respectively, which also possesses a quite low limit of detection （〈2 ppb）, and good selectivity.

A facile and direct synthetic method for the synthesis of vicinal tricarbonyl amides(VTAs) in moderate to excellent yields(62-93%) has been developed starting from readily availableβ-ketoamide in the presence of sole phenyliodine(III) bis(trifluoroacetate)(PIFA). The resulting products possess significant synthetic potential, making this approach a valuable addition to the traditional methods already available for the preparation of these molecules. Recent recearch indecated that the reversible addition of alcohols, amines and thiols can also occur to the central carbonyl group of the VTCs to afford the hemiketal, hemiaminal, and hemithioketal formation respectively. In this paper, we present our recent effort on the PIFA-mediated α-C-H bond oxidative reaction of β-ketoamide derivatives for the synthesis of VTAs.
