Recent literature has addressed initial coin offering(ICO)projects,which are an innovative form of venture financing through cryptocurrencies using blockchain *** features of ICOs remain unexplored,leaving much room for additional research,including the success factors of ICO *** investigate the success of ICO projects,with our main purpose being to identify factors that influence a project’s *** a literature review,from which several potential variables were collected,we used a database comprising 428 ICO projects in the banking/financial sector to regress several econometric *** confirmed the impacts of several variables and obtained particularly valuable results concerning project and campaign *** confirmed the importance of a well-structured and informative *** proximity to certain markets with high availability of financial and human capital is also an important determinant of the success of an *** also confirm the strong dependency on cryptocurrency and the impact of cryptocurrency valuations on the success of a ***,we confirm the importance of social media in ICO projects,as well as the importance of human capital *** research contributes to the ICO literature by capturing most of the success factors previously identified and testing their impacts based on a large *** current research contributes to the building of systems theory and signaling theory by adapting their frameworks to the ICO *** results are also important for regulators,as ICOs are mainly unregulated and have vast future potential,and for investors,who can benefit from our analysis and use it in their due diligence.

Social responsibility requires a set of duties and obligations, whether individuals or firms in relation to society and to the communities in which the organization is operating. The tradition of social intervention in Portugal dates from the fifteenth century and the founding of Mercy. However, environmental issues have never been felt in a sensitive position in responsible business, given the weakness of industrial development which lasted until the 60＇s. In Brazil, the corporate social responsibility is still particularly a big challenge, since the actions of social responsibility have not contributed effectively to improve the living conditions of society and the transformation of existing social reality. The purpose of this study is to emphasize the perspective of environmental sustainability that underpins the more general concept of social responsibility and, through the case study Caixa Geral de dep6sitos, assess the strengths and weaknesses of the development of measures of social responsibility in this area in Portugal, and present the case of the company Vale, carrying out business in Brazil

Software vulnerabilities,when actively exploited by malicious parties,can lead to catastrophic *** handling of software vulnerabilities is essential in the industrial context,particularly when the software is deployed in critical ***,several industrial standards mandate secure coding guidelines and industrial software developers’training,as software quality is a significant contributor to secure *** Challenges(CSC)form a method that combines serious game techniques with cybersecurity and secure coding guidelines to raise secure coding awareness of software developers in the *** cybersecurity awareness events have been used with success in industrial ***,until now,these coached events took place *** the present work,we briefly introduce cybersecurity challenges and propose a novel platform that allows these events to take place *** introduced cybersecurity awareness platform,which the authors call Sifu,performs automatic assessment of challenges in compliance to secure coding guidelines,and uses an artificial intelligence method to provide players with solution-guiding ***,due to its characteristics,the Sifu platform allows for remote(online)learning,in times of social *** CyberSecurity Challenges events based on the Sifu platform were evaluated during four online real-life CSC *** report on three surveys showing that the Sifu platform’s CSC events are adequate to raise industry software developers awareness on secure coding.

With results on the infinite servers queue systems with Poisson arrivals - M｜G｜∞ queues - busy period, it is displayed an application of those queue systems in the unemployment periods time length parameters and distribution function study. These queue systems are adequate to the study of many population processes, and this quality is brought in here. The results presented are mainly on unemployment periods length and their number in a certain time interval. Also, some questions regarding the practical applications of the outlined formulas are briefly discussed.

Purpose:In studies of the research process,the association between how researchers conceptualize research and their strategic research agendas has been largely *** study aims to address this ***/methodology/approach:This study analyzes this relationship using a dataset of more than 8,500 researchers across all scientific fields and the *** studies the associations between the dimensions of two inventories:the Conceptions of Research Inventory(CoRI)and the Multi-Dimensional Research Agenda Inventory—Revised(MDRAI-R).Findings:The findings show a relatively strong association between researchers’conceptions of research and their research *** all conceptions of research are positively related to scientific ambition,the findings are mixed regarding how the dimensions of the two inventories relate to one another,which is significant for those seeking to understand the knowledge production process *** limitations:The study relies on self-reported data,which always carries a risk of response *** implications:The findings provide a greater understanding of the inner workings of knowledge processes and indicate that the two inventories,whether used individually or in combination,may provide complementary analytical perspectives to research performance *** may thus offer important insights for managers of research environments regarding how to assess the research culture,beliefs,and conceptualizations of individual researchers and research teams when designing strategies to promote specific institutional research focuses and ***/value:To the best of the authors’knowledge,this is the first study to associate research agendas and conceptions of *** is based on a large sample of researchers working worldwide and in all fields of knowledge,which ensures that the findings have a reasonable degree of generalizability to the global population of researchers.

The performance of the wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) photonic analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) used for digitization of high-resolution radar systems is evaluated numerically by using the peak signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) metric. Two different WDM photonic ADC architectures are considered for the digitization of radar signals with 5 GHz of bandwidth (spatial resolution of 3 cm), in order to provide a comprehensive study of the compromises present when deploying radar signals with high-resolution: 1) a four-channel architecture with each channel employing an ADC with 5 GSamples/s, and 2) an eight-channel architecture with each channel employing an ADC with 2.5 GSamples/s. For peak powers of the pulsed source between 10 and 20 dBm and a distance between the radar antenna and the sensing object of 2.4 meters, peak SNR levels between 29 and 39 dB are achieved with the eight-channel architecture, which shows higher peak SNR levels when compared with the four-channel architecture. For the eight-channel architecture and for the same peak powers of the pulsed source, peak SNR levels between 11 and 16 dB are obtained when the distance increases to 13.5 meters. With this evaluation using the peak SNR, it is possible to assess the performance limits when choosing a specific radar range, while keeping the same resolution.

In this paper,a multiobjective optimization approach for obtaining the optimal distribution of surface-bonded piezoelectric sensors and actua-tors for noise attenuation in sandwich panels is *** noise attenuation is achieved by using negative velocity feedback control with co-located sensors and *** control gains are also optimized in order to obtain the most efficient noise attenuation in a given frequency *** in-house implementation of a viscoelastic soft core sandwich plate finite element,including surface-bonded piezoelectric sensors and actuators with active control capabilities,is used for obtaining the frequency response of the *** sound transmission capability of the panels is evaluated using the radiated sound power,along with the Rayleigh integral approach,which is suitable for lightly coupled structural/acoustic *** Direct MultiSearch(DMS)optimization algorithm is used to minimize the added weight due to the piezoelectric material,minimizing also the number of required controllers and maximizing the noise *** total length of the radiated sound power curve is shown to be an effective measure of noise attenuation in a given frequency ***-off Pareto fronts and the obtained optimal configurations are presented and discussed.

Neural stem cells(NSCs)are known to be present in the adult mammalian brain where they constitutively differentiate into the neuronal,astroglial,and oligodendroglial lineages,in defined processes termed neurogenesis,ast rogl iogenesis and oligodendrogenesis,respectively(reviewed in Braun and Jessberger,2014).During brain development,NSCs are present throughout the brain,becoming progressively restricted to defined brain *** the adult brain,NSCs are mainly present in areas classically known as neurogenic niches,*** subventricular zone(SVZ),along the lateral walls of the lateral ventricles,and the subgranular zone,located in the dentate gyrus(DG)of the hippocampus.
