Comparison of the effects of high-intensity interval and moderate-intensity continuous training on inflammatory markers,cardiorespiratory fitness,and quality of life in breast cancer patients

Background:As the effectiveness of breast cancer treatment has improved,a growing number of long-term breast cancer survivors are seeking help for unique health *** patients may be at increased risk of cardiovascular disease due to the side effects of *** positive impact of most types of exercise has been repeatedly reported in people with cancer,but the most effective exercise approaches for maximum beneficial adaptations remain ***,this study aimed to compare the effects of high-intensity interval training(HIIT)and moderate-intensity continuous training(MICT) on inflammatory indices,adipokines,metabolic markers,body composition,cardiorespiratory fitness,and quality of life in breast cancer patients during adjuvant endocrine ***:Thirty non-metastatic breast cancer patients during adjuvant endocrine therapy who had been treated with chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy were recruited from Iran and randomized to HIIT,MICT,or control groups for a supervised exercise intervention that took place 3 times a week for 12 *** training intensity was determed based on the peak oxygen uptake(VO2peak),and the volume of training was matched in HIIT and MICT based on the *** composition,functional capacity,cardiorespiratory fitness,metabolic indices,sex hormones,adipokines,and inflammatory markers were assessed before and after the ***:The VO2peakincreased by 16.8% in the HIIT group in comparison to baseline values(mean difference=3.61 mL/kg/min).HIIT significantly improved the VO2peakcompared to control(mean difference=3.609 mL/kg/min) and MICT(mean differences=2.974 mL/kg/min)*** HIIT(mean difference=9.172 mg/dL) and MICT(mean difference=7.879 mg/dL) interventions significantly increased highdensity lipoprotein cholesterol levels compared to the control *** analysis of covariance showed that physical well-being significantly improved in MICT compared to control group(mean difference=3.268)

Friend or foe for obesity: How hepatokines remodel adipose tissues and translational perspective

Due to excess energy intake and a sedentary lifestyle, the prevalence of obesity is rising steadily and has emerged as a global public health problem. Adipose tissue undergoes structural remodeling and dysfunction in the obese state. Secreted proteins derived from the liver, also termed as hepatokines, exert multiple effects on adipose tissue remodeling and the development of obesity, and has drawn extensive attention for their therapeutic potential in the treatment of obesity and related diseases. Several novel hepatokines and their functions on systemic metabolism have been interrogated recently as well. The drug development programs targeting hepatokines also have shown inspiring benefits in obesity treatment. In this review, we outline how adipose tissue changes during obesity. Then, we summarize and critically analyze the novel findings on the effects of metabolic “beneficial” and metabolic “harmful” hepatokines to adipose tissue. We also discuss the in-depth molecular mechanism that hepatokines may mediate the liver-adipose tissue crosstalk, the novel technologies targeting hepatokines and their receptors in vivo to explore their functions, and the potential application of these interventions in clinical practice.

Scientific evidence is just the starting point: A generalizable process for developing sports injury prevention interventions

Background: The 2 most cited sports injury prevention research frameworks incorporate intervention development, yet little guidance is available in the sports science literature on how to undertake this complex process. This paper presents a generalizable process for developing implementable sports injury prevention interventions, including a case study applying the process to develop a lower limb injury prevention exercise training program(Footy First) for community Australian ***: The intervention development process is underpinned by 2 complementary premises:(1) that evidence-based practice integrates the best available scientific evidence with practitioner expertise and end user values and(2) that research evidence alone is insufficient to develop implementable ***: The generalizable 6-step intervention development process involves(1) compiling research evidence, clinical experience, and knowledge of the implementation context;(2) consulting with experts;(3) engaging with end users;(4) testing the intervention;(5) using theory; and(6)obtaining feedback from early implementers. Following each step, intervention content and presentation should be revised to ensure that the final intervention includes evidence-informed content that is likely to be adopted, properly implemented, and sustained over time by the targeted intervention deliverers. Effects of obesity on breast size,thoracic spine structure and function,upper torso musculoskeletal pain and physical activity in women

Purpose:This study investigated the effects of obesity on breast size,thoracic spine structure and function,upper torso musculoskeletal pain and physical activity participation in women living independently in the ***:A total of 378 women were divided into 3 groups(Not Overweight:body mass index(BMI)=22.5±0.2 kg/m^2(mean±SE);Overweight:BMI=27.4±0.3 kg/m^2;Obese:BMI=35.4±0.3 kg/m^2).Outcome variables of breast volume(mL),thoracic flexion torque(N·m),thoracic kyphosis(degrees),upper torso musculoskeletal pain(score) and time spent in physical activity(min) were calculated and compared among the 3 groups,adjusting for between-group differences in ***:There was a significant main effect of BMI on all outcome *** classified as Obese displayed significantly larger breasts,had greater thoracic flexion torques and reported less time participating in physical activity relative to the participants who were classified as Not Overweight and *** in the Obese group also displayed significantly more thoracic kyphosis and reported significantly more upper torso musculoskeletal pain compared to their counterparts who were classified as Not ***:This study is the first to demonstrate that increased obesity levels were associated with compromised kyphosis and loading of the thoracic spine,as well as increased symptoms of upper torso musculoskeletal pain and reduced time spent in physical activity in women living in the *** recommend further research to determine whether evidence-based interventions designed to reduce the flexion torque generated on the thoracic spine can improve these symptoms of upper torso musculoskeletal pain and the ability of women with obesity to participate in physical activity.

Return to sports after Lower Extremity Injuries:Assessment of Movement Quality

Numerous high performance athletes experience further damage or recurrent injuries even after successful rehabilitation. This is often caused by an insufficient movement quality, which has been very rarely assessed by test protocols which determine the point of reintegration into high performance sports (Return-to-Play, RTP). In order to assess the movement quality both objective and subjective test protocols exist. Objective methods like 3D-movement analysis are viewed as international gold standard, but are not the most practicable solutions for daily training routine. This study aims at reviewing the available literature on reliability and validity of existing subjective test protocols. Further their use within high-performance sports is evaluated. Up to now subjective methods fail to match sufficient validity. However some practical approaches for assessment of movement quality after injury are known. Based on selected criteria first recommendations for the use of different subjective screening test methods are given. In summary further research focusing on the validity of subjective tests is needed. The subjective testing methods should be used in combination with additional tests (e.g. strength testing) in order to identify other risk factors. Recurrent pre-injury screenings on movement quality should be carried out to enhance injury prevention.

Coastal wetland hyperspectral classification under the collaborative of subspace partition and infinite probabilistic latent graph ranking

The abundance of spectral information provided by hyperspectral imagery offers great benefits for many ***,processing such high-dimensional data volumes is a challenge because there may be redundant bands owing to the high interband *** study aimed to reduce the possibility of“dimension disaster”in the classification of coastal wetlands using hyperspectral images with limited training *** study developed a hyperspectral classification algorithm for coastal wetlands using a combination of subspace partitioning and infinite probabilistic latent graph ranking in a random patch network(the SSP-IPLGR-RPnet model).The SSP-IPLGR-RPnet approach applied SSP techniques and an IPLGR algorithm to reduce the dimensions of hyperspectral *** RPnet model overcame the problem of dimension disaster caused by the mismatch between the dimensionality of hyperspectral bands and the small number of training *** results showed that the proposed algorithm had a better classification performance and was more robust with limited training data compared with that of several other state-of-the-art *** overall accuracy was nearly 4%higher on average compared with that of multi-kernel SVM and RF *** with the EMAP algorithm,MSTV algorithm,ERF algorithm,ERW algorithm,RMKL algorithm and 3D-CNN algorithm,the SSP-IPLGR-RPnet algorithm provided a better classification performance in a shorter time.

High-Throughput Spike Detection in Greenhouse Cultivated Grain Crops with Attention Mechanisms-Based Deep Learning Models

Detection of spikes is the first important step toward image-based quantitative assessment of crop ***,spikes of grain plants occupy only a tiny fraction of the image area and often emerge in the middle of the mass of plant leaves that exhibit similar colors to spike ***,accurate detection of grain spikes renders,in general,a non-trivial task even for advanced,state-of-the-art deep neural networks(DNNs).To improve pattern detection in spikes,we propose architectural changes to Faster-RCNN(FRCNN)by reducing feature extraction layers and introducing a global attention *** performance of our extended FRCNN-A *** FRCNN was compared on images of different European wheat cultivars,including"difficult"bushy phenotypes from 2 different phenotyping facilities and optical *** experimental results show that introduced architectural adaptations in FRCNN-A helped to improve spike detection accuracy in inner *** mean average precision(mAP)of FRCNN and FRCNN-A on inner spikes is 76.0%and 81.0%,respectively,while on the state-of-the-art detection DNNs,Swin Transformer mAP is 83.0%.As a lightweight network,FRCNN-A is faster than FRCNN and Swin Transformer on both baseline and augmented training *** the FastGAN augmented dataset,FRCNN achieved a mAP of 84.24%,FRCNN-Aattained a mAP of 85.0%,and the Swin Transformer achieved a mAP of 89.45%.The increase in mAP of DNNs on the augmented datasets is proportional to the amount of the IPK original and augmented ***,this study indicates a superior performance of attention mechanisms-based deep learning models in detecting small and subtle features of grain spikes.
