Potential of A Yogurt Enriched with Synbiotics for Influenza Prevention and Treatment

Probiotics show anti-influenza activity， offering a potential variant-resistant alternative for infection prevention and control. In this study， we evaluated whether a specially formulated yogurt enriched with synbiotics (named yogurt 1 in this study) with seven probiotics and six prebiotics， has anti-influenza effects and its underlying mechanisms using a mouse model challenged with influenza virus H1N1 PR8 strain. The mice were treated with phosphate-buffered saline (negative control)， yogurt matrix， yogurt 1， and oseltamivir (positive control)， respectively. yogurt 1 treatment improved the survival of infected mice (from 0% to 30%)， alleviated pathological injuries in the lungs and colon， and reduced the viral load of influenza virus on days 3 and 7 post-infection. yogurt 1 also downregulated some inflammation-related signaling pathways and reduced the levels of proinflammatory cytokines or chemokines in the lungs or serum， including interleukin (IL)-1β， IL-6， tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and keratinocyte chemoattractant (KC). The levels of short-chain fatty acids in the cecal content were increased， the diversity of the intestinal flora was partially restored， and influenza-specific IgG and interferon-secreting lymphocytes were enhanced following yogurt 1 administration. Thus， yogurt 1， as a commercial and easily accessible dairy product， demonstrated a notable anti-influenza effect in mice by inhibiting viral proliferation， suppressing excessive inflammatory responses， and promoting influenza virus-specific adaptive humoral and cellular immune responses， demonstrating its potential for influenza epidemic prevention and control.

Low temperature properties of organicinorganic Ag/p-CuPc/n-GaAs/Ag photoelectric sensor

A thin organic film of p-type semiconducting copper phthalocynanine (CuPc) was deposited by vacuum evaporation on an n-type GaAs single-crystal semiconductor substrate. The fabricated Ag/p-CuPc/n-GaAs/Ag sensor was carried through an ageing process to stabilize the parameters. Voltage-current characteristics and photoelectrical response of the sensor were investigated at a wide temperature range of 82 to 350 K. Photoelectric characteristics were measured under non-modulated filament-lamp illumination. It was observed that such sensor parameters as rectification ratio,threshold voltage,junction,shunt and series resistances,open-circuit voltage and short circuit current are temperature-dependent. It was found that wide-range voltage-current characteristics of the sensor may be de-scribed similarly to that of a Schottky barrier diode. Using the experimental data on voltage-current characteristics and absorbance of the CuPc films,the energy-band diagram of the p-CuPc/n-GaAs heterojunction was developed. It was shown that data obtained from simulation of an equivalent circuit of photoelectric sensor agreed with experimental results.

The oscillations in ESR spectra of Hg_(0.76)Cd_(0.24)Te implanted by Ag^+ at the X and Q-bands

The objects of the investigation were uniformly Ag~＋ doped Hg_（0.76）Cd_（0.24） Te mercury chalcogenide monocrystals obtained by ion implantation with subsequent thermal annealing over 20 days. After implantation and annealing the conductivity was inverted from n-type with carrier concentration of 10^（16） cm^（-3） to p-type with carrier concentration of ≈ 3.9 × 10^（15） cm^（-3）. The investigations of microwave absorption derivative（d P/d H） showed the existence of strong oscillations in the magnetic field for Ag：Hg_（0.76）Cd_（0.24） Te in the temperature range 4.2–12 K. The concentration and effective mass of charge carrier were determined from oscillation period and temperature dependency of oscillation amplitude. We suppose that this phenomenon is similar to the de Haas–van Alphen effect in weakly correlated electron system with imperfect nesting vector.

The paper presents innovative informatics methods for creating virtual technical heritage replicas, which are of significant scientific and practical importance not only to researchers but to the public in general. By performing 3D modeling and animation of aircrafts, spaceships, architectural-engineering buildings, and other technical objects, the process of teaming is achieved while promoting the preservation of the replicas for future generations. Modem approaches based on the wide usage of computer technologies attract a greater number of young people to explore the history of science and technology and renew their interest in the field of mechanical engineering.

The emergence, development and regional differences of mixed farming of rice and millet in the upper and middle Huai River Valley, China

Mixed farming of rice and millet is one of the basic agricultural modes in the upper and middle Huai River Valley(HRV). According to the latest data, this agricultural mode appeared during the middle and late Peiligang Culture(7.8–7.0 ka BP) in the upper HRV, and then became a common subsistence economy in the end of the Neolithic(5.0–4.0 ka BP) in both the upper and middle HRV. However, it is still not clear how this mixed farming developed in the upper HRV after its occurrence, nor are the regional differences in the development of mixed farming between the upper and middle HRV during the Neolithic completely understood. In this paper, flotation and starch analyses were conducted on samples from eight archaeological sites in the upper and middle HRV. The results indicate that the mixed farming of rice and millet first appeared in the later phase of the middle Neolithic in the regions of the Peiligang Culture, then developed quite rapidly in the late Neolithic(6.8–5.0 ka BP), finally becoming the main subsistence economy at the end of the Neolithic in the upper HRV. However, there are obvious differences in the emergence and development of agriculture between the middle and upper HRV. Rice farming was the only agricultural system during the middle Neolithic, lasting until the end of the Neolithic, when mixed farming appeared in the middle HRV. Furthermore, although mixed farming appeared in both the upper and middle HRV during the end of the Neolithic, the roles of rice, foxtail millet and broomcorn millet in the subsistence economy were not the same. In general, millet was more widely cultivated than rice in the upper HRV, but rice occupied the same or a slightly more prominent position in the middle HRV at the end of the Neolithic. These results are significant for understanding the process of agricultural development and transformation, as well as human adaptation to climatic and cultural variability duringthe Neolithic.

Apatite Fission Track Thermochronology of Granite from the Xiazhuang Uranium Ore Field,South China:Implications for Exhumation history and Ore Preservation

Xiazhuang uranium ore field,located in the southern part of the Nanling Metallogenic Belt,is considered one of the largest granite-related U regions in South *** this paper,we contribute new apatite fission track data and thermal history modeling to constrain the exhumation history and evaluate preservation potential of the Xiazhuang Uranium ore *** Triassic outcrop granite samples collected from different locations of Xiazhuang Uranium ore field yield AFT ages ranging from 43 to 24 Ma with similar mean confined fission track lengths ranging from 11.8±2.0 to 12.9±1.9μm and Dpar values between 1.01 and 1.51μ*** robustness time-temperature reconstructions of samples from the hanging wall of Huangpi fault show that the Xiazhuang Uranium ore field experienced a time of monotonous and slow cooling starting from middle Paleocene to middle Miocene(~60-10 Ma),followed by relatively rapid exhumation in the late Miocene(~10-5 Ma)and nearly thermal stability in the Pliocene-Quaternary(~5-0 Ma).The amount of exhumation after U mineralization since the Middle Paleogene was estimated as~4.3±1.8 km according to the integrated thermal history *** studies indicate that the ore-forming ages of U deposits in the Xiazhuang ore field are mainly before Middle Paleocene and the mineralization depths are more than 4.4±1.2 ***,the exhumation history since middle Paleocene plays important roles in the preservation of the Xiazhuang Uranium ore field.

Objective To investigate the expression of cytokeratin,actin and hCG,E2 and P of human hacthed blastocysts in the *** Human hatched blastocysts were co-cultured with human endometrial decidualization stromal cell *** process of orientation,attachment,outgrowth and invasion in morphology were *** staining for cytokeratin and actin,immunofluorescence measurement of hCG and radioimmunoassay measurement of E2 and P were *** Blastocysts attached to stromal cell layer after 5h in *** 24h in co-culture,the trophoblast protruded from two opposite poles of the blastocyst and underwent outgrowth into the stromal cell monolayer,blastocyst became bigger and invaded finally into the stromal *** 48h in co-culture,cytokeratin staining was only visible in trophoblast but not stromal cells,actin staining was visible in both of trophoblast and stromal cells with distinct conformation and *** cells had prominent linear actin filaments,aligned along the long axis of the *** staining in trophoblast cells was localized in short filaments arranged in a ***,E2 and P levels in the supernate of stromal cell-blastocyst co-culture were higher than the supernate from blastocyst cultured only （P〈0.01）.Conclusion An implantation model for the reflection of the process of human blastocysts attachment,outgrowth and invasion into stromal cells has been established in ***,actin and hCG,E2 and P take place corresponding changes in the human implantation blastocyst cells.
