The Mediterranean-style commercial real estates have become increasingly popular in Hangzhou, but they are not compatible with the real Mediterranean style in humanistic connotations. By investigating and analyzing the commercial real estates in Hangzhou, the authors found that the architectural forms and landscape elements are similar with those in Mediterranean region, but the design techniques show the tendency of localization, and plant landscapes and regional cultural characteristics are not compatible with the real Mediterranean style.

Urbanization and eco-environment coupling is a research *** simulation of urbanization and eco-environment coupling needs to be improved because the processes of coupling are complex and statistical methods are *** science and cross-scale coupling allow us to define the coupled urbanization and eco-environment system as an open complex giant system with multiple feedback *** review the current state of dynamic simulation of urbanization and eco-environment coupling and find that:(1)The use of dynamic simulation is an increasing trend,the relevant theory is being developed,and modeling processes are being improved;(2)Dynamic simulation technology has become diversified,refined,intelligent and integrated;(3)Simulation is mainly performed for three aspects of the coupling,multiple regions and multiple elements,local coupling and telecoupling,and regional ***,we also found some shortcomings:(1)Basic theories are inadequately developed and insufficiently integrated;(2)The methods of unifying systems and sharing data are behind the times;(3)Coupling relations and the dynamic characteristics of the main driving elements are not fully understood or completely ***,simulation of telecoupling does not quantify parameters and is not systemically unified,and therefore cannot be used to represent spatial *** the future,we must promote communication between research networks,technology integration and data sharing to identify the processes governing change in coupled relations and in the main driving elements in urban ***,we must build decision support systems to plan and ensure regional sustainable urbanization.

CRISPR-derived biotechnologies have revolutionized the genetic engineering field and have been widely applied in basic plant research and crop *** used Agrobacterium-or particle bombardment-mediated transformation approaches for the delivery of plasmid-encoded CRISPR reagents can result in the integration of exogenous recombinant DNA and potential off-target *** efficiency is also highly dependent on the design of the expression cassette and its genomic insertion *** engineering using CRISPR ribonucleoproteins(RNPs)has become an attractive approach with many advantages:DNA/transgene-free editing,minimal off-target effects,and reduced toxicity due to the rapid degradation of RNPs and the ability to titrate their dosage while maintaining high editing *** RNP-mediated genetic engineering has been demonstrated in many plant species,its editing efficiency remains modest,and its application in many species is limited by difficulties in plant regeneration and *** this review,we summarize current developments and challenges in RNPmediated genetic engineering of plants and provide future research directions to broaden the use of this technology.

After habitat loss,drastic effects of biological invasion caused by alien invasive species to the native biodiversity have been acknowledged worldwide by the agriculturists,ecologists,and governments as it is more overwhelming than pollution,harvest and disease *** such example of biological invasion is *** which is considered to be one of the topmost noxious weeds threatening ecosystems diversity in the world,particularly in Pakistan due to its invasive success and generalist *** no studies have explored the pattern and determinants of plant biodiversity in the Parthenium dominated *** we explored the current distribution pattern of this species with relation to environmental variables in the Malakand division of northern ***-three sites dominated by *** were identified through a participatory mapping process combined with traditional ecological knowledge and quantitative inventories were *** total,we found 62 plant species in 55 genera and 32 families,predominately from Asteraceae,Poaceae,and ***’s agglomerative clustering procedure showed three well-differentiated,and ecologically meaningful but overlapping vegetation *** was found to be the leading species with an average Importance value ranging from 33.28%to 65.59%.Based on our criteria,surprisingly we found significantly less to be fully(30%)or partially invaded(21%)than the less invaded(47%)plots,indicating the gradual invasive success of the species across the *** Correspondence Analysis(CCA-ordination)has explained 36.9%of the cumulative variance by the first three axes and identified elevation(r=-0.526),slope(r=0.438)and percent sand(r=-0.474)to be the major environmental factors affecting the distribution of *** and associated *** results suggested that elevation and percent sand negatively affect Parthenium distribution whereas slope has a positive relationship

Endogenous auxin is an important regulator of in vivo organ development,but its role in in vitro organogenesis is *** has been observed that the basal end of epicotyl cuttings of juvenile citrus seedlings produces fewer shoots than the apical ***,we report that elevated endogenous auxin levels in the basal end of citrus epicotyl cuttings are inhibitory for in vitro shoot *** transgenic citrus plants expressing an auxin-inducible GUS reporter gene,we have observed elevated levels of auxin at the basal end of stem cuttings that are mediated by polar auxin *** endogenous auxin or blocking polar auxin transport enhances shoot *** auxin transport inhibitor,N-1-naphthylphthalamic acid(NPA),can also enhance shoot organogenesis independent of its action on polar auxin ***,we demonstrate that the promotional effects of depleting endogenous auxin or blocking polar auxin transport on shoot organogenesis are *** study thus provides meaningful insights into possible roles of endogenous auxin and polar auxin transport,as well as auxin–cytokinin interactions,in in vitro shoot ***,our results may also provide practical strategies for improving in vitro shoot organogenesis for citrus and many other plant species.

Proteomic analysis of upland cotton was performed to profile the global detectable proteomes of ovules and fibers using two-dimensional electrophoresis(2DE).A total of 1,203 independent protein spots were collected from representative 2DE gels,which were digested with trypsin and identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption and ionization-time-offlight/time-of-flight(MALDI-TOF/TOF)mass *** mass spectrometry or tandem mass spectrometry(MS or MS/MS)data were then searched against a local database constructed from Gossypium hirsutum genome sequences,resulting in successful identification of 975 protein spots(411 for ovules and 564 for fibers).Functional annotation analysis of the 975identified proteins revealed that ovule-specific proteins were mainly enriched in functions related to fatty acid elongation,sulfur amino acid metabolism and post-replication repair,while fiber-specific proteins were enriched in functions related to root hair elongation,galactose metabolism and D-xylose metabolic *** annotation analysis of the most abundant protein spots showed that 28.96%of the total proteins in the ovule were mainly located in the Golgi apparatus,endoplasmic reticulum,mitochondrion and ribosome,whereas in fibers,27.02%of the total proteins were located in the cytoskeleton,nuclear envelope and cell *** real-time polymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR)analyses of the ovule-specific protein spots P61,P93 and P198 and fiber-specific protein spots 230,477 and 511 were performed to validate the proteomics ***-protein interaction network analyses revealed very different network cluster patterns between ovules and *** work provides the largest protein identification dataset of 2DE-detectable proteins in cotton ovules and fibers and indicates potentially important roles of tissue-specific proteins,thus providing insights into the cotton ovule and fiber proteomes on a global scale.

Application of Cold Plasma Technology in Sludge Treatment

Cold plasma technology was used to treat sludge,and the effects of various discharge times on the p H,EC,content of available nutrients( available nitrogen,available phosphorus and available potassium),value of fecal coliforms,and mortality of Ascaris lumbricoides eggs of sludge were studied. The results showed that after the treatment of sludge by cold plasma technology,it had certain effects on the p H,EC,available nitrogen and available phosphorus content of the sludge,and had no significant effect on available potassium content. Within certain discharge times,sludge p H increased,while EC,available nitrogen and available phosphorus content decreased,and there was no significant change in available potassium content. The plasma generated by discharge could effectively kill microorganisms under normal atmospheric pressure,so that the value of fecal coliforms and mortality of Ascaris lumbricoides eggs of the treated sludge could meet the requirements of the relevant standard.
