Assessing the corrosion protection property of coatings loaded with corrosion inhibitors using the real-time atmospheric corrosion monitoring technique

The atmospheric corrosion monitoring(ACM)technique has been widely employed to track the real-time corrosion behavior of metal ***,limited studies have applied ACM to the corrosion protection properties of organic *** study compared a bare epoxy coating with one containing zinc phosphate corrosion inhibitors,both applied on ACM sensors,to observe their corrosion protection properties over *** with artificial damage via scratches were exposed to immersion and alternating dry and wet environments,which allowed for monitoring galvanic corrosion currents in *** the corrosion tests,the ACM currents of the zinc phosphate/epoxy coating were considerably lower than those of the blank epoxy *** trend in ACM current variations closely matched the results obtained from regular electrochemical tests and surface *** alignment highlights the potential of the ACM technique in evaluating the corrosion protection capabilities of organic *** with the blank epoxy coating,the zinc phosphate/epoxy coating showed much-decreased ACM current values that confirmed the effective inhibition of zinc phosphate against steel corrosion beneath the damaged coating.

Nanoimprint lithography-assisted block copolymer self-assembly for hyperfine fabrication of magnetic patterns based on L10-FePt nanoparticles

L10-FePt-type bit-patterned media has provided a promising alternative for ultrahigh-density magnetic recording systems in the current digital era, but rapid fabrication of magnetic patterns with hyperfine bit islands is still challenging, especially with the target for miniaturization and scalable production simultaneously. Herein, Fe,Pt-containing block copolymers were utilized as single-source precursors for solution-processable patterning and subsequent generation of the demanding magnetic FePt dots by in situ pyrolysis. High-throughput nanoimprint lithography was initially employed to fabricate the predefined bit cells precisely,and then the intrinsic self-assembly of phase-separated block copolymers further drove the formation of accurate bit *** from the synergistic effect of top-down lithographic approach and bottom-up self-assembly, the customizable patterns could be achieved for large-scale mass production in targeted areas, but high-density isolated dots could also be accurately aligned along the patterned features after subsequent self-assembly. This reliable strategy would provide a good avenue to precisely construct ultrahigh-density magnetic data storage devices.

In this research,activated carbon from mangosteen peel has been synthesized using sulfuric acid as an *** adsorption performance of the activated carbon was optimized using malachite green dye as ***-chite green dye waste is a toxic and non-biodegradable material that damages the *** of adsorption processes was carried out using Response Surface Methodology(RSM)with a Box-Behnken Design(BBD).The synthesized activated carbon was characterized using FTIR and SEM *** FTIR spectra conﬁrmed the presence of a sulfonate group(-SO_(3)H)in the activated carbon,indicating that the activation pro-cess using sulfuric acid was *** characterization shows that activated carbon has porous *** was carried out for three adsorption parameters,namely contact time(20,60,and 120 min),adsor-bent mass(0.005,0.025,and 0.05 g),and initial concentration of malachite green solution(5,50,and 100 mg·L^(-1)).The concentration of the malachite green solution was determined using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at the max-imum wavelength of malachite green,618 *** optimum of malachite green adsorption using mangosteen peel activated carbon was obtained at a contact time of 80 min,an adsorbent mass of 0.032 g,and malachite green initial concentration of 25 mg·L^(-1),with a maximum removal percentage and maximum adsorption capacity of 93.66%and 19.345 mg·g^(-1),respectively.

Charge transfer of He^(2+)with H in a strong magnetic field

By solving a time-dependent Schrodinger equation（TDSE）, we studied the electron capture process in the He^2＋＋ H collision system under a strong magnetic field in a wide projectile energy range. The strong enhancement of the total charge transfer cross section is observed for the projectile energy below 2.0 ke V/u. With the projectile energy increasing, the cross sections will reduce a little and then increase again, compared with those in the field-free case. The cross sections to the states with different magnetic quantum numbers are presented and analyzed where the influence due to Zeeman splitting is obviously found, especially in the low projectile energy region. The comparison with other models is made and the tendency of the cross section varying with the projectile energy is found closer to that from other close coupling models.

Classical trajectory Monte Carlo investigation for Lorentz ionization of H (1s)

Lorentz ionization of H（1s） is investigated by classical trajectory Monte Carlo （CTMC） simulation. The effect of the transverse magnetic field on the considered process is analyzed in terms of the time evolution of interactions in the system, total electron energy, and electron trajectories. A classical mechanism for the ionization is found, where the variation of the kinetic energy of the nuclei is found to be important in the process. Compared with the results of tunneling ionization, the classical mechanism becomes more and more important with the increase of the velocity of the H-atom or the strength of the magnetic field.

Traditional wireless sensor networks(WSNs)are not suitable for rough terrains that are difficult or impossible to access by *** dust is a technology that works with the combination of many tiny sensors which is highly useful for obtaining remote sensing information from rough *** tiny sensors are sprinkled in large numbers on rough terrains using airborne distribution through drones or aircraftwithout manually setting their *** it is clear that a number of remote sensing applications can benefit from this technology,but the small size of smart dust fundamentally restricts the integration of advanced hardware on tiny *** raises many challenges including how to estimate the location of events sensed by the smart *** solutions on estimating the location of events sensed by the smart dusts are not suitable for monitoring rough terrains as these solutions depend on relay sensors and laser patterns which have their own limitations in terms of power constraint and uneven *** study proposes a novel machine learning based localization algorithm for estimating the location of *** approach utilizes timestamps(time of arrival)of sensed events received at base stations by assembling them into a multidimensional vector and input to a machine learning classifier for estimating the *** to the unavailability of real smart dusts,we built a simulator for analysing the accuracy of the proposed approach formonitoring forest *** experiments on the simulator show reasonable accuracy of the approach.

We establish local convergence results for a generic algorithmic framework for solving a wide class of equality constrained optimization *** framework is based on applying a splitting scheme to the augmented Lagrangian function that includes as a special case the well-known alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM).Our local convergence analysis is free of the usual restrictions on ADMM-like methods,such as convexity,block separability or linearity of *** offers a much-needed theoretical justification to the widespread practice of applying ADMM-like methods to nonconvex optimization problems.

Theoretical Study on Equation of State of Porous Mo and Sn

We present a first-principles scheme to investigate the equation of state （EOS） of porous materials, based on our recently developed modified mean-field potential approach. By taking the effect of the structural parameters on the free energy into account, we calculate the total energy of materials with initial different densities and then study the EOS of porous Mo and Sn as a prototype. The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental data available, which demonstrates that our scheme is suitable for investigating EOS of porous materials over a wide r^nge of porosities and pressures.
