Enlarged interlayer of separator coating enabling high-performance lithiumsulfur batteries

Lithiumsulfur batteries have been intensively studied due to their high theoretical energy density and abundant sulfur resources. However, their commercial application is hindered by the low redox kinetics and high sulfur losses. In principle, in the design of cathodes and separators, the adsorption toward lithium-polysulfides should be enhanced and the conversion of soluble high-order lithium-polysulfides should be catalyzed. Herein, a KV_(3)O_(8)·0.75H_(2)O separator is designed as an effective lithium-polysulfides mediator in lithiumsulfur batteries. The intercalated K+ would enlarge the interlayer spacing of vanadium oxides, preventing the collapse of the layer structure and improving the electrical/ion conductivity of the interface. Moreover, the KV_(3)O_(8)·0.75H_(2)O modified separator possess a prior adsorption and high redox kinetics toward lithium-polysulfides due to the enhanced diffusion kinetics, which guarantees the high-rate capability and efficient utilization of sulfur. As a result, lithiumsulfur batteries exhibit a high capacity of 1362 mAh·g^(-1) and a long lifespan with a low capacity loss of 0.073% per cycle. This work may provide an alternative way to establish a functional separator to balance the adsorption and conversion of polysulfides during the redox back and forth.

Mechanism of chlorinating lanthanum oxide and cerium oxide with ammonium chloride

Using ammonium chloride （NH4Cl） as a chlorinating agent, the effects of chlorinating temperature, chlorinating time and NH4Cl dosage on chlorination of La2O3 and CeO2, and the thermal decomposition of LaCl3·7H2O and CeCl3·7H2O were investigated. The results show that 80% of both La2O3 and CeO2 can be chlorinated at 300 ℃ for 90 min, and have no advantage to chlorination of lanthanum and cerium oxides at higher temperature. The thermal decomposition of LaCl3 and CeCl3 is carried out to explore the mechanism of chlorinating lanthanum and cerium oxides. At the same time, the chlorination of lanthanum and cerium oxides is not devoted to the HCl decomposed from NH4Cl, but to NH4Cl directly taking part in the chlorination of La2O3 and CeO2. The lanthanum and cerium oxides in chlorination firstly form intermediate LaOCl and CeOCl, and then transfer to LaCl3 and CeCl3, finally to La2O3 and CeO2, respectively. The thermal decomposition analyses of LaCl3·7H2O and CeCl3·7H2O further prove the existence of the intermediates LaOCl and CeOCl. Therefore the chlorinating temperature and time should strictly be controlled when the lanthanum oxide and cerium oxide are chlorinated with NH4Cl. And over-dosage of NH4Cl should be also applied in the process of chlorination.

Progress in the fast charging of high-capacity silicon monoxide(SiO)-based anode is currently hindered by insufficient conductivity and notable volume *** construction of an interface conductive network effectively addresses the aforementioned problems;however,the impact of its quality on lithium-ion transfer and structure durability is yet to be ***,the influence of an interface conductive network on ionic transport and mechanical stability under fast charging is explored for the first time.2D modeling simulation and Cryo-transmission electron microscopy precisely reveal the mitigation of interface polarization owing to a higher fraction of conductive inorganic species formation in bilayer solid electrolyte interphase is mainly responsible for a linear decrease in ionic diffusion energy ***,atomic force microscopy and Raman shift exhibit substantial stress dissipation generated by a complete conductive network,which is critical to the linear reduction of electrode residual *** study provides insights into the rational design of optimized interface SiO-based anodes with reinforced fast-charging performance.

Ionogels have garnered great attention as promising soft conducting materials for the fabrication of flexible energy storage devices,soft actuators,and ***,the leakage of the ionic liquids,weak mechanical strength,and poor manufacturability have greatly limited their reliability and ***,we propose a new ionogel synthesis strategy by utilizing granular zwitterionic microparticles to stabilize ionic *** ionic liquids swell the microparticles and physically crosslink microparticles via either electronic interaction or hydrogen *** introducing a photocurable acrylic monomer enables the fabrication of double-network(DN)ionogels with high stretchability(>600%)and ultrahigh toughness(fracture energy>10 kJ/m^(2)).The synthesized ionogels exhibit a wide working temperature of−60 to 90℃.By tuning the crosslinking density of microparticles and physical crosslinking strength of ionogels,we synthesize DN ionogel inks and print them into three-dimensional(3D)*** ionogelbased ionotronics are 3D printed as demonstrations,including strain gauges,humidity sensors,and ionic skins made of capacitive touch sensor *** covalently linking ionogels with silicone elastomers,we integrate the ionogel sensors onto pneumatic soft actuators and demonstrate their capacities in sensing large *** our last demonstration,multimaterial direct ink writing is harnessed to fabricate highly stretchable and durable alternating-current electroluminescent devices with arbitrary *** printable granular ionogel ink represents a versatile platform for the future manufacturing of ionotronics.

Optoelectronic and electrochemical behaviour of γ-CuI thin films prepared by solid iodination process

A simple and efficient solid iodination method has been proposed for the fabrication of p-type γ-CuI thin *** structural,morphological,optical,electrical and electrochemical properties have been investigated in order to serve as an effective hole-transporting layer in solid-state solar *** fabricated films exhibited p-type conductivity with resistivity of 7.0×10;Ωcm,the hole concentration of ～1.13×10;cm;and the mobility of 18.34 cm;V;s;.The cyclic voltammetry result shows a maximum specific capacitance of 43 mF/cm;at a scan rate of 10 mV/*** cyclic stability and capacitance retention were found to be 99.7%.These findings demonstrate that γ-CuI film can be a potential candidate for multiple applications,such as a hole transporting material for solid-state solar cells and electrochemical supercapacitor.

Enhancing photocatalytic performance of metal-organic frameworks for CO_(2) reduction by a bimetallic strategy

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) as a type of crystalline heterogeneous catalysts have shown potential application in photocatalytic CO_(2)***,MOF catalysts with high efficiency and selectivity are still in ***,by a bimetallic strategy,the catalytic performance of a Co-MOF for photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction was ***,the Co-MOF based on 4,5-dicarboxylic acid(H;IDC) and4,4’-bipydine(4,4’-bpy) can catalyze CO;reduction to CO,with high efficiency but relatively low *** replacement of 2/3 Co(Ⅱ) with Ni(Ⅱ) within Co-MOF,the resulted isostructural Co_(1)Ni_(2)-MOF not only retains high efficiency for photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction,but also shows enhanced CO *** CO evolution rate reaches 1160 μmol g^(-1)h^(-1)and the CO selectivity reaches as high as 94.6%.The enhanced photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction performance is supported by theoretical calculation *** case demonstrates that bimetallic strategy is an effective mean to optimize the catalytic performance of MOF catalysts for photochemical CO_(2)reduction.

Discovery of Yanting-Tongnan Trough of Late Permian in Sichuan Basin and Its Significance

ABSTRACT： Reef-bank of Sichuan （四川） basin have been explored along the platform margin belt on both sides of the Kaijiang （开江）-Liangping （梁平） trough for a long time. Correspondingly, a series of major breakthroughs have been obtained and a number of large oil and gas fields have been found. After the breakthroughs of Kaijiang-Liangping trough, how reef-bank exploration will proceed？ Is there another ＂Kaijiang-Liangping trough＂ in Sichuan basin？ Previous research shows that Sichuan basin underwent intracratonic rift and basement fault activities in Late Permian, developing a paleogeography framework of ＂three uplifts and three depressions＂ under the background of the regional large ramp, including Exi （鄂西）-Chengkou （城口） trough, Kaijiang-Liangping trough and Yanting （盐亭）-Tongnan （潼南） trough. Based on sedimentology and tectonics dynamics analysis, data of drillings, outcrops and seismic, Yanting-Tongnan trough has been discovered in central Sichuan basin in our study which distributes from Mianzhu （绵竹）, Jiangyou （江油） in western Sichuan basin through Nan-chong （南充） to Guang＇an （广安）, as long as about 210 km, extending in NW-SE nearly paralleling to Kaijiang-Liangping trough, opening to the sea north-westward, and gradually pinchout to the east platform. Similar to Kaijiang-Liangping trough, another platform margin reef belt distributes along a U-shape belt around Yanting-Tongnan trough, which is expected to become another natural gas accumulation zone after the platform margin around Kaijiang-Liangping trough. The discovery of Yanting-Tongnan trough expands favorable reef exploration area from original 2x 10^4 km2 on both sides of Kaijiang-Liangping trough to more than 6x10^4 km2 in Yanting-lbngnan trough platform margin belt and Kaijiang-Liangping platform margin belt, greatly enlarging the reef exploration field. But com-pared to Kaijiang-Liangping trough, YantingTongnan trough is relatively shallower and smaller, and the scale and quality of reef-bank reservoirs in it
